This location was perfect for everything we wanted to see and do. Everything is within walking distance to downtown, East End beach area, restaurants and the breweries. We enjoyed our stay

Small space ,more adequate for a couple vs family.
This cute little apartment was a perfect home base for my new husband and I. Walkable to all the restaurants and attractions. Cozy and quiet.

Great location!
Cute place - makes very good use of the space. It was comfortable and very conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. We have a few suggestions but overall very happy, had a wonderful time, and the ultimate compliment - we look forward to staying there again.
Really great. Some minor suggestions: a water pitcher and facial tissues would be nice as well as instructions for the washer and dryer.

Great local spot but could be cleaner
Very central spot was pretty convenient to walk around Portland but could be cleaner inside. The person who lives above definitely has some heavy feet as well that you’ll hear.

First Maine visit
Thus place was well located and instructions were clear. The entrance code did not work but were quickly able to get access with help from Vacasa staff. The bed and couch could use an upgrade though.

Needs a deep clean
The apartment was nice but it really needs deep cleaned. There was dust, dirt, hair, cobwebs, and bug carcasses everywhere. The cleaning fee is outrageous considering the apartment wasn’t very clean.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize if you felt the home was not on par with our cleanliness standards. We would have been happy to address any areas in need of additional attention during your stay had we been notified. We look forward to hosting you again!
We had a great stay. Many things were walkable!K-cups were provided, but it would have been nice if there was at least some non-refrigerated creamer. Washer and dryer provided, but no laundry detergent.Host was helpful when the thermostat stopped working. Upstairs neighbors could be easily heard, but it didn't detract from the stay!
Easy walk to Old Port or East End. Great bars, breweries and restaurants just around the corner.

Great Location - Poor communication
When we arrived, we went to the front door of the matching listing photo - we did not realize this was an actual residence. The guys working across the street in the local repair garage told us to try the sides of the house. The same gentlemen said this occurs all the time. The listing should say to go to the left of the house and down the stairs.
The location was great - we walked to many local breweries and to the old port. It was the perfect size for the two of us.
Now for the downside - and this is more about dealing with Vacasa. I contacted them twice through the listing on the VRBO app - once about early check-in and a question about the backyard. We did not receive an answer until 24 hours later and each question was answered by different people. When we had a question about the toaster that was listed (which ended up being a toaster oven) I called. I was greeted with a recorded menu to connect to different departments. After finally reaching a representative, she had to call the local person to get our question answered. So if you want an answer to a question in a timely manner - CALL but be warned you are talking to a management company, not a local person.
This property was our home for a brief (3 nights) getaway to Portland, one of our favorite cities with a vibe that can't be beat. The location was very convenient for much of what we wanted to do; walking was most always an option and when it wasn't the drive was short and stress-free. The home was well-stocked with essentials and well-equipped for a comfortable stay; there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there. The neighborhood is quiet and seemed quite safe but we also don't walk around much at night either; the outside seating area was private and a delight. Logistics worked out fine with our host from check-in to sufficiently detailed checkout instructions. I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a visit to Portland.
Wonderful time, great location, accurate representation. Thanks! Only annoyance: My son left his glasses on a table. He contacted Vasca and arranged to pick them up the next day (he lives in Portland). I realize there is a $25 fee for forgotten items, but nothing needed to be sent. As a courtesy, it would be very much appreciated if I could be reimbursed for this charge.
The Property was very clean. I have allergies to most household allergens, but I was very clear the entire stay. It was nor the “cellar environment” you would expect.
The location was outstanding. Minutes from the center of things but far enough away to have almost no street noise.
The property had a Keurig but no cups for it. We were able to get fairly hot water for tea and oatmeal that we brought so it still worked out great for us.
There were a few things that I would call personal irritations rather than complaints. We are over 65 so take it for what it’s worth to you personally.
- First, two big ones -
- As stated in other reviews, stomping around upstairs went on all hours of the day and night. I suspect their movements were normal, but it sounded like our ceiling was attached to their floor, with nothing in between to deaden the sound a bit.
- We were there for wine week and most all events start at four o’clock. I tried to actually talk to a person to see if I could check in at 3 instead but all I got was go-arounds with Bots. I sent a message as requested and the response was basically “no” because of all the cleaning that goes on. We went there early to get the lay of the land and as I suspected, no one was there. Following the rules, I had to park in a garage, not cheap, and finally go to the to the house to check in much later after our dinner…No more Vacassa properties for me.
- We found the bed to be small and uncomfortable.
- The internet connection speed/connection was spotty at times and very bad on the closet side of the bed.
- The light on one side of the bed was out and it was left unplugged rather than fixed.
- The is a small step down going into the bathroom. This could be very dangerous in the middle of the night. I stubbed my toe a couple of times on the way out because I wasn’t used to the flow yet.
- The thermostat got a power detection error on the last day. Only a couple of hours left so we opted to be cold and exited as quickly as possible.
