Quintessential Lake House

Amazing location and the perfect quintessential Lake House I was looking for for my family. 11 of us stayed here and had ample amount of space and sleeping arrangements were great. The kids slept in the bunk room and all the adults had a queen bed and private room. Can't beat the views and with direct access right to the water with a private beach make this house ideal. Kids fished from the dock and had a lot of luck, landing a few largemouth bass 16+ inches long. Loons on the lake and with the canoe, row boat and kayaks right there to use as you please. 100% would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

First time to Leavitt Bay Shores

We had a great time! We will be back. We already booked the same week for next year. Leavitt Bay is just what we were looking for - small and reasonably quiet. The water was beautiful and the sandy bottom is great. However, the bay is shallow with only about 4ft of water out at the swim float. There are plenty of chairs provided for the fire pit that we also used on the beach. We brought our own kayaks, so we didn't use the boats provided. The house is rustic but the bathrooms seem updated. The house had a musty "camp" smell at first. But, once we aired out the house, it seemed fine. We had plenty of hot water for 6 showers in a row at the end of each day. There is however, only one (indoor) shower. There is an outdoor shower with hot water that we also used. There is a dyer, but no washing machine. With careful planning, it was not an issue. The wi-fi worked great. There is no TV on the property, but we bought a small smart TV which worked fine. There is one mini-split AC on the first floor and one in the upstairs bedroom. Both worked great to keep the house cool on hot days/nights.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review of your stay at Leavitt Bay, Christopher! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the quiet location and beautiful water, along with the ample seating and charming rustic feel of the house. It’s great that the updated bathrooms, hot water, and both indoor and outdoor showers met your needs, and we appreciate your understanding about the musty smell improving after airing out. We’re glad the mini-split AC units kept you comfortable and that the Wi-Fi worked well for you. It’s wonderful that you were able to bring your own smart TV to enhance your stay. Most of all, we’re thrilled to hear you’ve already rebooked for the same week next year! We can’t wait to welcome you back for another memorable visit.

Rustic Plus

Fantastic location. Views and lake were amazing. Beach area is so nice right outside your door with some shade from trees. Nice neighborhood for walking, biking, running. Lots of bed space, but the beds do take up pretty much all of the space in the rooms (other than the master.) The master and half bath upstairs have more space, but are up a narrow and steep staircase. Living room has a comfy couch and both the living room and deck have the amazing views. Kitchen has a large table with lots of seating. Description says partial AC but it was enough to cool down the house well on some super hot days. There were also fans in the bedrooms. Cons: - Only one shower/bathroom downstairs in the main house, which can be tough if you’re having lots of people stay here. No bathtub if you’re coming with kids. - Only a dryer. Assumed there was a washer when I saw a picture of a dryer. - No dishwasher and the kitchen appliances, knives, etc were old and could be updated. - Doors were all squeaky or rickety. - Bedrooms would get that musty camp smell pretty fast if you kept the doors shut. - Basically no cell service, but no issues with the WiFi. - The power went out twice during our stay, not sure if that is common or not, but maybe bring a flashlight just in case. We had a great time despite any cons. When we rented there were zero reviews so just wanted to provide details for the next people!
