My wife and I just spent 6 nights here, and it was a great place to call home while visiting Glacier NP! It’s about 10 minutes to the West Glacier entrance and Going to the Sun Road.Lots of space to spread out, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could have needed, and the beds were very comfortable. Also very quiet, as it is well away from any through roads. This property is obviously a family home, based on the way it’s decorated, and that just adds to the comfort level.Would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it for your GNP visit!!
Pictures don’t do it justice. Gorgeous and well equipped house. Only downside was that river access was quite dangerous and not accessible for anyone except young and very able-bodied.

We are so delighted when we see that our guests notice what we provide for them. I would certainly invite them to pay us an other visit. They had no complaints and were respectful of the cabin. We hope that they enjoyed there visit to Glacier .Rochelle
The house was clean, and well maintained. Loved having access to a full size washer and dryer. The location in relation to Glacier was wonderful. The river behind the home is beautiful. The property manager met us at the house, she was amazing!

We loved the river view. It has great accessibility to the park and all the fun things around in the area. We love the rustic log cabin and all of the art and trinkets inside of it. It was very spacious. The property was beautiful. The only thing that was a little annoying was the loud train coming through frequently and blaring on their horn.

I do logize for the train. It usually seems quieter after the
first night. The cabin fittings on the whole came from the artists and natives people of the west. It's nice when travelers from around the world notice what is really the heart of the cabin.
Thank you,
rochelle
My wife and I stayed here for a week while visiting Glacier National Park. The house is beautiful, comfortable, clean, well decorated and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Far more house than we needed for just the two of us, but this one checked all the boxes we were looking for. The location is great for close access to the west entrance of Glacier while also being close to restaurants and grocery stores. It is a short drive to both Columbia Falls and Whitefish. The train tracks are nearby, and we did hear the trains during the day, but they never woke us up at night and didn't bother us at all. We really enjoyed having our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the deck while taking in the views of the river and mountains. The host was friendly and accommodating and quick to answer any questions. The only criticism I could offer is that I would have preferred a more panoramic view of the river and easier river access. The river access is a bit sketchy. I braved it, but my wife was not comfortable attempting it. The trees along the river front block a good portion of the river view. A little selective pruning would really open up the view. That being said, I would definitely stay here again. We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.

I always look forward to reviews from our guests, especially when they have good things to say. It takes guests who give me good reviews to keep me on my toes to make sure that the cabin is all that they hoped for.
We didn’t get to do much more than sleep here but it was well equipped for anything you would need. The river behind is gorgeous too. We would like to come back and spend more time on site. Overall, a really great experience.

I am always amazed at the quality of the people who use VRBO. They are so friendly and open to any suggestions on what there is to see and do while visiting Montana. They are enthusiastic and willing to share their opinions and experiences during their stay. When they leave, the cabin is just the same as when they first arrived. I always want to make my guests feel comfortable and at home.I am confident that all of my future guests will be as enjoyable as these folks and I hope that they will have the same good experiences and memories. Each of them will always be welcome back. I find the reviews are very helpful in improving the service and encouraging any future changes that might be needed.
The cabin was perfect for our visit. The train noise is real; but the cabin’s amenities, cleanliness and proximity to the park outweighed the interrupted sleep due to the train whistle.

We loved staying at this house. It sits at the end of a long drive so it is very private It was very clean and comfortable. It is a short drive to the Glacier Park entrance.
The property was beautiful. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, and then some. Perfect location to experience the Park and all things around. The cabin was very relaxing and perfect for our family/group of 5. Rochelle has thought of everything. Also, Cindy is a fantastic host who answered all our questions promptly. The family would highly recommend this place.
The house was beautiful. Renting and stay experience were spectacular, with nearby availability to the NP, grocery and restaurants. We were surprised by the train track proximity and the frequency of night train traffic.

It's always encouraging when a guest leaves the cabin almost better than when they arrived. My property mgr. asked me to be sure to let these guests know how impressed she was when she came to clean. Of course we never expect our guest to put extra effort to clean up when they leave. I think it speaks to the quality guest we continue to share the cabin with. We are sooo lucky
Unique property with original art and decor. Very warm and comfortable with down pillows and cotton bedding, quilts and authentic wool blankets. Access to flathead is down some dicey steps but very worth it if you fish. Wi-Fi was a bit slow for conference calls but we were trying not to work anyway. Loved our time! Hosts very easy to contact.

Check-in was perfect. Cindy the caretaker met us at the cabin, and was very helpful. This cabin had everything we needed and the location on the Middle Fork Flathead River was amazing! This cabin is close to attractions, gas station, and groceries. No need to worry about it not having AC. We stayed at the end of July and the inside stayed cool.I would definitely stay here again. Adam, when you spend as much time in Montana as I have, you forget just how special it is. Thank you for reminding me.
I would welcome you back any time and maybe the next time I will be able to meet you and your family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. My favorite was the wrap around porch and deck. It was decorated great as well. The train is definitely noticeable but after the first night, we got used to it. The host was very responsive.

About the host
Hosted by Rochelle Danker
Being a native Montanan, I return every summer to the homestead my grandparents built in the early 1900's. I spent my early summer years learning the ways not only of the west but also of their European roots. I built the cabin 4 years ago because I wanted to be closer to the river. The original log cabin of my grandparents is where I spent the last 15 summers until I could build my own with all of todays conveniences. I can't think of any place I would rather be during the summer than in this cabin, including the Central Coast of California where I live the rest of the year.
Why they chose this property
The cabin is on the same property as the original log cabin that my mom and her 6 siblings grew up in. It's just a short walk from one to the other but they still remain a world apart.
What makes this property unique
This cabin is a long way from my permanent home, taking 3 days of driving time. There just isn't any place like Montana or the strong spirit of the offspring of the settlers that came before them. There isn't much bravado shown or horn blowing when it comes to the pride the people show in where they live. It shows in the way they treat the land, their families and visitors. You're never a stranger when you visit Montana. They are very proud of where they live, proud of how they live and are eager for visitors to feel the same way when they leave. The weather is ever changing in the spring, summer and fall. We have glorious thunderstorms that shake the ground, hot dry days made for hiking, cool nights when the mountain inhabitants become silent, waiting for yet another great day in Montana.
