Perfect alternative to an expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! The apartment is on the third floor (with elevator) of a completely new building, but with original facade. It's located on a very popular street, "Calle de Huertas," situated in the Historic Center of Madrid, "Barrio de las Letras." Walking distance from the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums, and the Palacio Real. The apartment has a king size bed, plus additional sofa beds in the living room. Lots of light and smack dab in the middle of all the must-see, desirable places in Madrid. The bedroom has 3 walls, meaning it is not totally private. A wall/closet separates the living room from the bedroom (as can be seen in the pictures).

The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. You can walk to La Cava Baja, Mercado de San Miguel and also to Parque del Retiro. Truly a perfect location.

The apartment worked out just great for my wife, daughter, and myself. The location is most very convenient as a base for walking and enjoying the central district. The building is secure and the apartment is well stocked, and looks just a pretty as the pictures. Gorete is a wonderful host. Her communications are timely and informative, and you can just tell that she really wants to help you have a great experience during your time in Madrid.

We were so happy with our stay. Gorete provided us with a great written guide to Madrid that helped us plan our short visit. We arrived early in the morning and we were lucky to have access right away. The apartment is small and cozy, it was perfect size for the two of us and the a/c was nice and strong - which we definitely needed! We were walkable to everything we wanted to do and so many restaurants, cafes, and bars. We would certainly rent again when back in Madrid!

Nice place in a convenient location. Clean and comfortable bed. Kitchen area has everything you need. The only complaint is the street noise after the bars close at 2 a.m. it's part of what happens in the world when young people leave the bars. I'd stay here again for sure

The location is convenient to most major attractions, shopping, restaurants etc! It is a bustling street and can get quite loud with people chatting and singing on the street but singing and laughter is not necessary a bad thing! We found some great restaurants and shops within walking distance! We were very happy with our accommodations! Would stay again!

Great location. Within walking distance of the Prado museum and the royal palace. Too many restaurants close by to count. Vi Cool downstairs has a varied and delicious menu. We have been living in Madrid since the year 2000, so we are knowleageable and delighted to share all the information you may need to feel like a local.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! This is smack-dab in the middle of the historic Barrio de las Letras (Literature Neighborhood) very romantic, safe and with countless places to eat, people-watch, on a pedestrian street (no traffic).

What makes this property unique

The building was completely gutted a few years ago and they saved the facade and the 100 year old staircase, but everything else is brand-new modern construction. We have furnished and equipped the apartment with everything we would like to find in a rental, we use VRBO ourselves when we travel so we understand that small details are paramount. Besides, we have lived in Madrid for manyyears, so we are happy to steer you to the best suggestions, whether they are restaurants, site seeing, shopping, trendy restaurants, family places or unique Madrid experiences depending on your date of travel.
