About this property

Family-friendly summer vacation home with big hot tub 2 blocks from beach.

This very well-appointed 4 bedroom +multi purpose room, 3 bathroom 2350 sq ft home has a 7-person hot tub, is two blocks from the Windansea Beach and 10 blocks from the shops, restaurants, boutiques and galleries in the center of La Jolla Village. The bike trail at the end of street makes for an easy route to Bird Rock, Pacific Beach and beyond.

The family-friendly house bosts a recently installed 6 person hot tub spa/jacuzzi, a big front yard, back yard, basketball court, fruit & vegetable garden, patio, large BBQ grill with natural gas and sundeck.

Hardwood floors throughout and an expansive kitchen with granite counter-tops, breakfast counter, and modern appliances. Open living plan that connects outdoor dining to kitchen counter bar to dining room allows friends and family to all gather together (seats 16), adding to enjoyment and a memorable special summer vacation.

The Master bedroom upstairs has a partial ocean view, a double shower en suite bathroom, and features a luxury California King bed with fine linens. Also upstairs is a large open multi-purpose room with three twin beds, desk, monitor and printer for optimal remote working. A second bright bedroom with beautiful skylights and a partial ocean view, as well as a full bath with Jacuzzi for relaxation after a day at the beach.

Two more bedrooms and a full bath are downstairs off the kitchen with a separate entrance along the side of the house, for added privacy, for example if two families are renting together. One downstairs bedroom has a California King bed and the other a Queen bed.

The living room and dining room opens onto the front porch and has a fireplace and custom made furniture. Our home comes equipped with three smart TVs, located in the living room, upstairs master and King downstairs bedroom.

Enjoy our newly remodeled (2019) outdoor pergola with couches and sun-bathing area, all with professionally installed artificial grass.

Walk to Shops or into the Village of La Jolla to enjoy the many restaurants, boutiques, museums, and galleries.

Remember to check out the Sunday farmers market on Girard Street. An Olympic-sized pool with free swim on weekends is two blocks away, and the La Jolla Tennis Club, Recreation Center and Public Library is 10 blocks.

Other nearby attractions include: The San Diego Zoo, Legoland, Sea World, Balboa Park, Wild Animal Park, Seaport Village, and the Gaslamp District. San Diego International Airport is only 20 minutes away.

Nice family vacation home

We enjoyed our week at this La Jolla home. Location was convenient to beaches, downtown shops, aquarium. Kids loved playing in the backyard and found the upstairs sleeping cubby charming. Property manager responded promptly when questions arose.

The house and yard had everything we needed for our extended family. Beautiful, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels for after beach days, beach chairs, the jacuzzi was nice after boogie boarding and the outdoor shower was handy. Basketball hoop was nice for the kids as well, and plenty of seating indoors and out. The host was also easy to get in touch with and very communicative.

This was a great property with everything we needed to enjoy the great La Jolla attractions, and be able to come back at night to a place that had everything we needed to relax and unwind. We wanted to save money by eating in, and they had everything we needed for that. Also, plenty of beds and bathrooms for us and our kids!

Very good family place

Outdoor property was ideal for three children, ages 2,3 and 8. Including seven adults we had plenty of space. Bedrooms and bathrooms were ideal for our group. Host was very helpful with our questions and needs. Location was ideal with lovely walks to shore. Hope to revisit.

The location was great for us with proximity to beach and shops in walking distance. There were maintenance issues that should have been attended to before our arrival. The owner did try to remediate the issues after we arrived. For the most part, the space worked well for our extended family.

Family Reunion

Well-stocked with lots of space for two young families. The two Master bedrooms were perfect for the two families and the extra bedrooms accommodated 5 children. The outdoor spaces to lounge and eat helped with plenty of seating for meals. Close enough to the beach to walk, although you have to cross a busy street at one poing. Overall stay was amazing!

Great Location!

Our extended family was in La Jolla for a wedding and this place was great! Central location, easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood and plenty of room for all our family. The kids enjoyed the trampoline and basketball goal and the outdoor space was nice for all the kids. The house was well appointed with kitchen supplies, beach chairs and beach towels. Great place!

Great Stay in La Jolla

One of our best VRBO experiences! The house was super clean when we arrived snd very well appointed. Comfy beds, fluffy and soft towels and bed linens, well stocked kitchen and great layout for our multi generation family. One of this properties best features is its great outdoor spaces, we enjoyed eating outdoors for almost every meal. Walkable to the beach, and plenty of parking. We will be booking again!

Great Family Spot

Great light filled space for my sister and my family with a lot of teens. This place is a regular home, so it has a more "lived in DIY" feel then a corporate property, but for us that was great. Lovely kitchen with tons of gadgets, great hot tub and outdoor backyard, basketball for my nephew, teen friendly spaces and even a Kawaii piano for my daughter to practice on. 10 minute stroll to fantastic beach and sunsets. Would definitely return and recommend.

Your home was just what we needed. I’m not sure we could count the bed in the cubby hole as a viable sleeping spot though. Minor issues- a few overhead lights out, 1st floor bathroom ( toilet seat needs replacing, directions for the many, many remotes (? all for the TV).

Unperfect paradise

Home could have been much cleaner. Sticky substance on drawers, when wiping up kitchen floor, paper towel showed black. Some mold in barhroom, no kleenex. Yard is great, very functional, serene and comfortable. We have rented approximately thirty homes through vrbo, this one is among the worst for cleanliness. Location is fantastic, near beaches and attractions

Great location

The house, backyard and location were all outstanding. Beach, dinning, coffee, bagels, dinning, market are all walking distance. The weather was great and we eat are meals outside. The yard is fenced in so if you have a dog it is great. The kitchen was stocked and very functional. Master bedroom was hug and very comfortable. We had six adults and the house held them easily. Only negative was the check in was 50 minutes late and when we asked for a late checkout we were denied. Also, ocean view is extremely limited. Despite that I would highly recommend this house and location.

Great for our Family

We loved the comfort of this home; had 5-6 adults and had plenty of space to have some other family members over for brunch. Enjoyed a family wedding on the beach and it was perfect. We had a problem with the AC unit but the owner promptly fixed it. The only other problem was that the house next door was having a major renovation and so we were awoken by the many contractors hammering and talking at 7 am. during the week. Great Master Suite and double shower. Good kitchen appliances and furnishings. Close proximity to restaurants and groceries (and beach!) Pretty flowers in neighborhood and charming backyard for lounging; fruit trees and butterflies. Plenty of towels provided and the washer/dryer unit was perfect for keeping beach towels and used clothing free of sand. Pricey place but felt like home right away!

A wonderful property with a few quirks

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house has been well updated, and provides a great space for a large family or group of friends. The yard is fenced, and was a great space for our Labrador Retriever to play ball. There are however, a few items that impacted our stay negatively. The furniture in the living room is quite low and very soft. As a result, it is very difficult for older persons to get up after sitting on the couch. The beds are quite comfortable, however, they are on platforms and it is quite easy to hit your shins on the extending corners of the beds. There is a covered sitting area in the yard with indoor furniture under a wooden roof. This was different furniture than that shown in the listing photographs. We did not find the area to be appealing at all. One incident with the owners, related to this furniture, left us a bit stunned. We received a message that their hostess would be coming to cover the furniture because rain was expected. She came by and we told her we had taken cushions from the patio chairs and moved them inside, thinking that these were the concern. We then received a message that it was important to cover the outside furniture because it was not water proof, and that the handy man would come buy and do this as well as clean the back patio and do the gardening. The handy man and a helper did indeed come by and did the gardening, but they did not cover the furniture. Two weeks later, we received another message, asking if we were able to protect the outside couches in the backyard from the rain. There was nothing provided for us to protect this furniture with, and we did not feel it was up to us to go and buy something to cover furniture. Later messages implied that it was our fault that this furniture had gotten wet. Frankly, we believe that this rental would be more attractive if it was returned to the way it is shown in the listing photos.

Location is everything

Accurate depiction of property. This owner does everything they can to have all you need for your trip. They have all the stuff. Amazing location. The only thing I would consider when booking is if you have pets. They have a lot of rules which is okay but a bit strict about pets.
