About this property

Grohote: Heritage family house

Our villa is a heritage family house, at least hundred and fifty years old, on a peaceful island off the city of Split (45 minutes by ferry/ 6 ferries per day). It provided roots to a family that is now scattered along three continents. Its thick stone walls preserve heat in winter and freshness in summer, as well a spirit of previous generations that can be glimpsed from old framed family photos. According to the traditional architecture, there are three different terraces for different time of the day or season. Under our more than half a century old grape pergolas you can enjoy late breakfast and lunch, while an open sun deck, next to the pool, is perfect for dinner and star gazing late into the night.
Staying in this traditional compound, also comprising a small organic garden with seasonal vegetables for you to use, will make you understand what used to be traditional, village Dalmatian life, while at the same time all modern amenities will help you relax and enjoy your stay. We love our family house passionately and try to pass that feeling to our guests.
The villa is located in a traditional village about 2.5 km from the sea and 1 km from shops. Peace and quiet reigns except for occasional concerts and the village Church festival on August 15.
The villa offers a lot of space (4 bedrooms) and comfort (3 bathrooms/toilets). It has all modern amenities (dishwasher, AC, WiFi, big-size cable TV, washing-machine). There is a large living room upstairs with the cable TV.
And finally you can dip into the swimming pool (about 10m long), day or night, secluded from village eyes.
It can house 7 people, but will give a lot of space to hide and relax. The whole compound is about 130 sq. m.

Nice stay on Solta

We had a realy good time on Solta. Nice house with a nice pool. We had a realy good traditional dinner at the neighburs, winery. There are plenty of good quite beaches on the island.

Beautiful Solta

The house was comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The pool is a great size and perfect for cooling down when it's hot.We enjoyed the outside spaces and Zoran was always readily available whenever we needed him.For us Solta was a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed finding different coves and visiting different beaches. The boat trip around the island and swimming in the little coves in the turquiose water was a highlight. Snorkelling around the rocks and kayaking/paddle boarding around Necujam was fun too. It was very hot when we were there so we didn't manage any hikes. However we did venture up Vela Straza to watch the spectacular sunset one evening.We also went to the winery nearby and enjoyed some lovely food and wine.If you want lots of shops and sightseeing Solta probably isn't for you as there isn't much of that.Overall we enjoyed our time on beautiful Solta.

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans la maison de Christophe.La maison est très agréable, toute en pierre, au centre du village.Les coins de vie disposés en extérieur, tant sous la pergola avec la table de repas et les hamacs, que sur le devant de la maison principale que sur la terrasse bain de soleil côté piscine sont très adaptés et très agréables.

Un havre de paix

Nous avons passé 2 semaines formidables dans la maison d'Ines et Christophe. Nous avons apprécié les différents espaces extérieurs, la piscine immense, le potager (quel bonheur de cuisiner les légumes du jardin) mais aussi la maison si agréable à vivre. Srednje Selo est un ravissant petit village calme et chaleureux à la fois, bien placé pour rayonner dans Šolta (même si rien n''est loin à Šolta). Merci enfin à Zoran, qui s'occupe de la maispn, pour sa gentillesse.

Sehr urig und traditionell

Traumhaft mit großem Pool. Sehr zentral gelegen, so dass man in alle Richtungen gut hin kommt. Null Massentourismus.Super Gastronomie auf der Insel. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit dem Auto in ein paar Minuten. Zu Fuß ca. 15 min. Sehr großzügiges Gelände mit mehreren Sitzecken. Zoran war ein netter Betreuer. Toller Gemüsegarten, den man nutzen kann. Man könnte tatsächlich 100 Punkte vergeben,, fehlt nur noch ein gemauerter Grill (Elektrogrill vorhanden). Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Alles sehr liebevoll, Fam. Gormann

Wirklich privat und sehr erholsam

Im August 2017 hat unsere 5-köpfige Familie einen richtig tollen Urlaub in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht. Zu dem Haus gehört eine abgeschlossene Außenanlage, ein uneinsichtiger, schattiger Innenhof, in dem man sich wirklich privat fühlt, ein großzügiger Pool, der auch trotz heißer Temperatur angenehm kühl ist und ein Sonnendeck. Diese Bereiche teilen sich auf 3 Ebenen auf. Überall genießt man die unendliche Ruhe und den Luxus von Privatsphäre. Auch das Haus ist großzügig angelegt, man hat genug Platz, den Urlaub zu genießen, eine ein- und ausschaltbare Klimaanlage hält die Räume angenehm kühl. Die Küche ist in einem extra Häuschen, einem ehemaligen, toll umgebauten Eselstall. Direkt vor der Küche befindet sich der Innenhof, Hängematten laden dazu ein, mit Körper und Seele zu baumeln. Den Gästen steht auch ein Garten mit Biogemüse zur Verfügung, das erntefrisch verkocht werden kann. In der Küche und im Garten gibt´s in den Dämmerstunden zwar einige Gelsen, ein Ventilator vertreibt diese aber weitgehend. Das Haus selber verfügt über Fliegengitter, d.h. hält man diese geschlossen, so ist das Haus moskitofrei. Ein sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Verwandter des Besitzers kümmert sich täglich unauffällig um die Wartung des Pools und gibt auch Auskunft über die Umgebung (z.B. schöne Strände). Wir haben den Urlaub richtig genossen, der Erholungsfaktor ist aufgrund der Privatsphäre und Ruhe richtig hoch! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Karin Wagenhofer, Österreich

Calm and peaceful with fantastic pool

The cottage was lovely - spacious and clean. Several different outside areas so we could choose where to sit and relax. Lovely views and great to be in an old, original part of the village. Pool was a very good size, clean and very private. Separate building for kitchen seemed odd at first but the benefits became apparent very quickly - easy to eat outside, no cooking smells or crumbs to attract insects into the main building. Well screened from insects too and not a single wasp or ant in the kitchen all week - amazing! Kitchen and main building kept cool very well even in unusual temperatures of 35- 40 degrees for most of the week and we only needed the air conditioning to cool the air ready for sleeping. Loved the relaxed style of the living room and the chairs and fouton made all the difference after a long day. Fantastic to pick tomatoes from the garden for lunch and aubergine and courgette to add to the beef tomatoes for tea! Were glad of the car to travel to nearby villages as it was so hot that walking any distance or waiting in the sun was just not sensible, but slightly cooler months it would have been fine with the bus. Thanks Zoran for being so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended cottage in every way - thanks!

Location recommandée - calme avec grande piscine

Nous avons passé 2 très bonnes semaines à Šolta durant l'été 2015. Le village est très calme et bien situé pour profiter des différentes plages de l'île. Split et le continent sont facilement accessibles en ferry pour une excursion dans la journée. Les enfants ont adoré la piscine et en ont bien profité! Nous avons aussi profité des légumes du jardin. Merci à Zoran qui a été un hôte très sympathique et disponible tout au long du séjour.

"Nous avons adoré nos vac...

"Nous avons adoré nos vacances dans la maison au centre de l''ile de solta. Parfait pour des vacances au calme en famille ! Je rejoins tous les commentaires des autres locataires; je ne vais pas répéter les mêmes choses. Petits détails négatifs à rajouter : la cloche de l''église sonne pendant plusieurs minutes tous les matin à 5h30; en plein mois d''août la température de la chambre du haut est trop chaude pour bien dormir à notre avis. POint forts de la maison : un véritable charme de rentrer dans une vraie maison de famille avec une âme, la piscine est très agréable avec les produits d''entretien pas du tout chimiques (on peut ouvrir les yeux sous l''eau sans problèmes !), et enfin : quel plaisir de cueillir les légumes du potager et de les utiliser dans ses salades d''été ! POur la baignande nous avons adoré faire des petites ballades de 1/2 heure avant d''arriver dans "notre" crique, rien qu''à nous, et ça en plein mois d''août !! Notez tout de même qu''il n''y a pas de liens directs entre l''ile de solta et les autres iles touristiques (comme hvar p.ex.), chose que nous avons un peu regretté (il faut d''abord passer par split). En tous cas, merci à zoran pour ses bons soins, et merci aux propriétaires de nous avoir fait vivre cette expérience "solta" dans un village on ne peut plus authentique !!"

"la villa est situe dans un petit village de Ile SOLTA .Cette petite ile est super sympa très calme avec de petit port magnifique on y trouve tout pour s''alimenter pour échanger la monnaie et des petits restaurants La villa est sympa elle reste dans le style du village le cousin ZORAN est très accueillant mais il faut parler un peu anglais pour pouvoir se comprendre .On peut prendre le ferry tout les jours avec voiture ou pas pour aller visiter la Croatie pour nous le voyage a été formidable a recommander car l'' ile est non touristique se qui est super ."
