Great Location

We loved the Paia location for access to windward side activities. The apartment is steps away from Mama's Fish House and Mama's beach. The apartment was well equipped with beach chairs, snorkel gear and a cooler. The apartment is a bit dated, but clean. It could definitely use air conditioning since the layout makes it difficult to get a cross breeze. We loved the porch - morning coffee and afternoon cocktails were especially pleasant here.

Very nice

Enjoyed my stay. The condo is clean and well kept. Ideally suited for one or two people but could sleep three if using the built in couch.

We loved Paradise in Paia!!

Paradise in Paia is just that, paradise. The condo is cozy, comfortable, clean and has a lot of charm. The walk to the beach is less than five minutes. At the beach we saw two green sea turtles and numerous fish each visit. We recommend water shoes for the beach to help your feet walk comfortably over the rocks. Nina provided boogie boards, beach towels and beach chairs. The laundry facility was very clean and the washer ($1.25) and dryer ($1.00) worked very well. If we ever return to Maui, we would stay here again.

Beautiful condo in Paia

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The extras that Nina provides, including mini-cooler, chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels and more, ultimately drew us to this rental. The short walk to Mama's Beach and Mama's Fishhouse is perfect for sunrise, sunset and ultimately an amazing meal! We were able to use the condo as a launching point for trips to the Winery, southern Maui beaches, Lahaina and more! Don't let any negative comments about being near the road scare you away, this is the perfect place for a Maui vacation!

Great location and great use of space. Condo has everything you could need. Definite road noise, but quiets down at night.

6/10 Okay

Unit was as expected.

Highway side of property not overly appealng but we knew this. The unit is in great location for Ho'okipa, windsurfing, turtles and more. It was walking distance to Pa'ia but along the narrow shoulder of hwy for parts which bothered us with small children, along beach was our hope but cliffs made unable. Some road traffic noise most times at busy Hana Hwy but nothing major. Unit had everything we needed and more, was comfortable and clean. Outlook from balcony was lovely and good size.

Paia Paradise

We had a wonderful stay in Paia. What a quaint town with Charley's, the Fish Market and the bakery. Everything in the unit was as described and actually bigger than we expected. The path to the beautiful was like a walk to a private beach. Mama's Beach is white sand with wonderful snorkeling in a very calm area. Perfect for novice snorkelers. What a gem. The kitchen had lots of storage, the bed comfy and everything very clean. Since it is on the third floor with no elevator you may not want to take too much stuff with you. You won't have to cook at all if you check out the Kuav Store, just 800 feet up the road. An easy walk for a tasty and satisfying breakfast or to pick up sandwiches for a picnic. This is the perfect starting place for the drive to Hana. This is definitely a place to stay while in Paia.

Home in Paia

For our first experience in Maui, we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing and comfortable stay here! The apartment is clean, open, and very comfortable. I was nervous about the sound of traffic from the adjacent highway, but it was really minimal even with the windows open. There was always a fresh breeze blowing through the apartment, and we had everything we needed there, including a four inch cane spider to welcome us on our first morning there. :) I would highly recommend staying here!!

Good location on Maui

We had an enjoyable two week stay at Kuau Plaza. The property was clean and tastefully decorated. It is an older building and with that comes some problems, but overall it was good. There is road noise to contend with, but we adjusted and loved the location. Walk to beach, Mama's Fish House, and short drive to Pa'ia, Ho'okipa Beach Ha'iku and on the way to Hana Highway.

Great Condo for great price. We spend 9 nights over there and we are really recommend this place for the next visitors .Close to the City and if you will travel all around the island is good place also. There is only one thing .....there is no AC so we don't know how it will be in summer months ? ( It was our 5th trip to Hawaii ...first in winter time...it can be hot in summer) .Thank you Nina for communication and you can be sure that we will recommend your place to our friends.MAHALO

Great

We really enjoyed the town of Paia and it was helpful that Nina's place was so close. We travelled all over the island of Maui but looked forward to coming back each night. There was a strange smell (it was noticeable but not terrible) so we purchased a cheap scented candle from Wal-mart and kept it lit while we were home. It was so nice that she had things we could use like a cooler and cold-packs, beach towels, and snorkel gear. There is no A/C but we left the patio door open and the fan on and we were good. You can hear traffic from the road but keeping the bedroom windows closed helps block out a lot. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend staying at Nina's.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Loud, dirty and you may be accused of destruction of property. Be careful!!!

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with this rental. We had just come from another VRBO from the previous week that had been amazing, so when we arrived at Paradise in Paia we certainly did a double take. My partner was helping us get settled at the rental before he returned home for work and immediately we saw red flags. It was in a run down building, and was dirty and musty. My partner cleaned the shower, toilet and we wiped down the kitchen. There was an infestation of bugs that were crawling all over the stove. We had chosen this location as we have an 11 month old and I wanted to be able to save money and cook food at home for her. When she crawled on the floor in the hallway, her knees and feet were black with dirt. I had contacted Nina ahead of time to ensure it was a safe and quiet place as this was my first time I would be travelling alone with the babe. She told me it was a quiet, safe area. Come nightfall the building went wild, this was on a Monday night. People yelling and partying, fighting in the parking lot, people having loud sex. Then the highway noise really picked up as it is the Highway to Hana and the locals rip by in loud trucks. There are small windows in the bedroom, the only air in the muggy back bedroom, but cannot be open due to the noise and safety issues. Also, there were no window coverings, so at first light, you were wide awake. When I contacted Nina to let her know that this place had been misrepresented and that we would be moving out that morning, she told me that was fine that I would not be getting a refund. No way would I have kept my baby there, or would I have even managed to stay there on my own. It was loud and hot and dirty. If you are alright staying in hostels usually, then this place might be fine, but if you have family I would give you fair warning. I contacted VRBO to let them know what was going on. I had sent photos to Nina asking about wood shavings I found in the kitchen the next morning, I thought termites maybe? And when the cleaning lady showed up I had asked her about it and she said they were just old and falling apart when you opened them (this was the garbage cupboard). Nina then sent me an email saying that I had caused damage to her cupboards, and looked as if it had been kicked. I was incredibly upset and could not believe she would be so underhanded. The cleaning lady said the 'usual complaints' were the highway noise and building. I heard no more from Nina. BEWARE..

Response from VrboOwner on 27 Mar 2020
This was a very strange situation. Oddly, when the guest checked in , she contacted us and said she was settling in nicely. They complimented loved the apartment. The next day, she was upset and had several complaints. We sent housekeeping over immediately to address any concerns the guest may have. After a thorough inspection was made, the only ants found were in several bowls of sugar deliberately placed on the kitchen countertops by the guest. Unfortunately we had to stop communication with the guest because she became so combative and abusive. There were never any accusations of property damage from us. In fact, their damage deposit was returned. If there are any concerns that this review has any merit, please read my other reviews. They tell a different story. Much Aloha

Nice place

The condo was a great place for our stay in Paia. It had the full kitchen and we cooked pretty much all our meals there. Hung out in the living room and listened to the breeze outside. Bed was a little hard though, loved how you can enter through it though

Ideally Located.

Perfectly located to explore the North Coast Beaches for body surfing and boogie boarding, an easy journey to Haleakala and the boutique town of Paia (and Makawao) and it's eclectic mix of tasty dining destinations. This condo had all the basics for a budget stay on the edge of the town and just steps to Mama's Fish House and for an invigorating afternoon dip in the foreshore. We stayed here for 5 nights before moving to explore the west of the Island and were so pleased we did so. Easy distance from Kahului Airport and great if you have a late night arrival. Sweet décor and tidy and has all you need for an enjoyable getaway. You can leave the front door open when you are in the apartment for the evening and have the air blow from the mountains through the condo to create a welcome cooling effect too. Sweet!

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights during our recent vacation. This was a great launching point for Haleakala and Hana. It is nice and close to Paia. It was great to have a cooler and beach towels available, we used them every day! Nina was very friendly and everything went smoothly. Thank you!

I like my condo! It's very nice and clean. It had such beautiful view! The only thing i don't like it that next to the high way is so noisy. The bathroom had an odor smell.

Great condo!

This condo was perfect for our stay in Maui. It was just down the road from Paia with its cute shops and restaurants, walking distance to a quiet and beautiful beach, and practically next door to the famous Mama's Fish House. It's also on the Road to Hana, so we were able to head out quickly on that road trip. We were able to buy groceries to cook at the condo and eat on the pretty lanai. Nina was quick to respond to any communication I sent her. I would highly recommend this rental!
