Skagway Reservoir, a lake that is great for trout fishing, canoeing and boating, is within walking distance from the house. Enjoy the large spacious deck or, if you prefer, take in a variety of activities in the area from scenic byways like Phantom Canyon Road (old tram railroad for gold miners), Shelf Road (old stagecoach route), Gold Camp Road, High Park Road, the ride along the Platte River to area hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, white water rafting, gold mine tours, golf, Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Mueller State Park, Pikes Peak and Pikes Peak Cog Railroad, Cave of the Winds and much more. There is convenient shopping at Woodland Park, Colorado which is only 30 miles away. If you prefer exploring, you can discover the quaint nearby gold mining towns of Victor (15 minutes away) and Cripple Creek (25 minutes away).

Upper Lake House has been totally renovated with tile, wood floors and granite countertops throughout. The house contains 4 bedrooms, including 2 master bedrooms. For an additional person, there is also a comfortable folding bed in the downstairs master bedroom. Also for multi-family convenience, the house offers 3 bathrooms, a large combo kitchen/living area, a downstairs den with satellite TV and DVD player, and laundry room with a washer and dryer. There is local and long distance phone service available as well as internet. The house will comfortably sleep up to 9 people. There is a 6 mile, county maintained gravel road from Victor, CO (CR 86 and a quick left onto CR 861) which takes you to Skagway Reservoir. Prior to the reservoir parking lot you take a dirt road to your right and proceed up steep hill to the property. The road up to the lake house is a steep, gravel/rock road. A 4WD vehicle is required for snowy seasons.

Ideal secluded getaway
If you are looking for secluded beauty, this is it! While we were there deer and turkeys came by. We sat out on the deck and had the wonderful scenery right in front of us. Only the birds and the Aspens to listen to. The beds were comfy and the furnishings we beautifully decorated. We were sorry to leave so soon.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house and property due to its proximity to our main house and because of the stunning views of the mountains and the lake. There is, also, a magnificent aspen forest in the back yard. We did a major renovation on the house with new granite countertops, custom cabinets, tile and wood floors, windows and doors. We built a large deck to capture the views. We thoroughly enjoy this property and believe our guests will also.
