About this property

An artist's house with a pool, 550 metres from the ramparts of Avignon

Welcome to a home with real character, a world away from the standardised holiday rental. Here, every room tells a story: vintage finds, mid-century touches, velvet, bold colours, a fireplace, objects with a soul. This is a lived-in house, designed with taste — the very opposite of "flat-pack everything". Our guests often describe it as love at first sight.

Ideally located in the most charming residential neighbourhood just outside Avignon's ramparts — the neighbourhood of gardens — the house puts you just 550 metres on foot from the historic centre: the Palais des Papes (Popes' Palace), the Pont d'Avignon (the famous bridge), the café terraces of Place de l'Horloge and the renowned Festival are all minutes away — while in the evening you enjoy a quiet, leafy neighbourhood.

A spacious house for families and groups of friends

Across 120 m² spread over a ground floor and first floor, the house sleeps up to 9 guests (7 adults + 2 children) in 5 beautifully decorated bedrooms:

Bedroom 1 (ground floor) — Queen bed that splits into 2 single beds, ambient fireplace
Bedroom 2 (first floor) — Queen bed that splits into 2 single beds
Bedroom 3 — one double bed + one single bed, bookcase
Bedroom 4 — one comfortable double bed
Bedroom 5 — single bed on a mezzanine, perfect for children

The Queen beds that convert into twin beds offer real flexibility, whether you're travelling as a couple, a family or a group of friends. Two travel cots are available for little ones.

Outdoor spaces made for Provençal living

The true luxury of this house is outdoors. A shaded reed-canopy patio extends the home with a large, convivial table — the setting for long meals and evenings that stretch on. The garden features a private pool (5 × 2 m, 0.70 m deep, to French safety standards), designed as a genuine cooling-off pool. Let's be honest: you won't swim laps here, but you'll cool down, lounge and feel wonderful. It's the pool of doing nothing: a good book, a glass of rosé, children splashing safely. A Weber barbecue and an outdoor shower complete this little Mediterranean paradise.

An eco-friendly, cool and authentic home

We made a deliberate choice: no air conditioning, out of ecological conviction. Instead, the natural coolness of a stone house, ceiling fans in every room, the shaded patio and the garden. In winter, wood-pellet heating — warm and low-carbon. Even our deliberately shallow pool follows the same logic: less water, less noise, more calm. A home that consumes little and respects its environment.

Practical details: fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine), fibre Wifi, television, comfortable living room and bright dining area. Officially classified holiday accommodation — 3 stars.

Who is it for? Families with children, groups of friends seeking quiet and character, lovers of the authentic and of slow travel. Pets welcome. An address for those who want to experience Avignon differently — between pool, garden and heritage.

Merci
