Lots of space and marvelous views

The seven of us enjoyed one week at the Cote d' Azur in this historic villa. Plenty of room and a quiet neighborhood made our family vacation perfect. The kitchen (actually there are two) was well stocked, in the "Salon" there were playing cards and some fine bottles waiting for us and breakfast on the patio also was a highlight. There are also many fruits in the garden than can be used. Shopping is a 12-minute-walk, the beach with many restaurants is not even a 10-minute-walk and the next train-station is about 15-20 minutes walking distance. Trains run every 30 minutes to Monaco, Nizza and other places. But keep in mind: the villa is uphill! Menton is a nice city with a charming historic center and lots of shops and restaurants.

Belle maison d époque

Très belle maison, bien équipé et proche de la plage et des commerces. Le seul inconvénient est l'accès à la maison où il faut descendre un chemin à pied et bien-sûr le remonter à chaque sortie (150 marches) mais on s y fait et celà est compensé par la super vue d'ensemble que l'on a de la terrasse. Nous avons passé un bon séjour sous le soleil de Menton.

Es war wirklich alles vorhanden, für das tägliche Leben. Sehr gute Raumaufteilung. Sehr liebevoll alles eingerichtet. Ein verwunschener großer Garten. Zum Strand 5 Minuten. Alles perfekt!

En fransk dröm! Stort fint hus där vi bodde 9 personer. Lite små sängar för långa nordbor. Allt fanns i köket och nya fina maskiner. Underbar terrass med utsikt över dalen och havet. Minus är tillgängligheten, svårt att ta sig hit med branta trappor det går ej att köra till huset och därför mycket bärande av inköpta varor i 30 graders värme! Också synd att vi inte fick information att vi själva kunde fylla poolen med vatten. En av anledningarna till att vi hyrde var just bubbel pool. Menton är en av de finaste byar vi varit i!

Maison authentique à Menton

Ancienne demeure avec vue sur la mer et joli jardin tout en terrasses successives couvertes d'orangers . Les chambres sont grandes et toutes avec une belle vue. La Villa Mimosa, en fait réunion de 2 maisons possèdent ainsi 2 cuisines et des douches à chaque étage ce qui est idéal quand on est nombreux. Les équipements sont corrects même si un peu d'entretien s'impose : chaises en fin de vie, ballon d'eau chaude qui fuit, carreau cassé (Mars 2019). Une grande table permet de déjeuner sur la terrasse ce qui est très agréable et plus commode que le salon du premier. Il est possible de rejoindre le centre de Menton à pieds ce qui est appréciable. Le cadre est magnifique, tous les commerces et de nombreuses activités culturelles sont disponibles à proximité. Séjour très plaisant, je recommande cette maison dans l'ensemble.

Charming old stone house close to beach and town!

Villa Mimosa is a large and charming house just to the west of the old town in Menton. It is ideal to share for two families! There are 3 floors, on the bottom floor there are 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. On the second floor there is one bedroom, a bathroom, a smaller kitchen, a dining room and a TV room. On the third floor there are three bedrooms (2 with single beds), one of these can also be used as a living room. The kitchens and bathrooms were all well functioning and of good standard (with some older details to add charm). There is also a washing machine and some beach toys, 2 kick bikes and a stroller. We were recommended to bring bed linen from home, do check size of duvets! The house has a large and green garden with fruit trees and flowers. The garden is quite steep with small paths, so it is more of an exciting maze for children than a park (but very beautiful indeed!). You can see the sea and the mountains from the house, but there is no panorama view. There is no direct evening sun. There is a large terrace with lots of space to socialize. The dinner table is set under a large avocado tree that gives shade. The BBQ (gas) is very large and excellent to cook on! The Jacuzzi was not in use when we were there. We spent one week in the house in the end of April. The house does get a little chilly on cold days (as large stone houses tend to) but there are radiators. The access to the house is down quite a number of steep steps, this is a bit of a hassle when you arrive with suitcases and when you get back with groceries, but on the other hand it makes the house very private and secluded (in a good way!). The house is only a few minutes walk to both the beach (Plage des Sablettes) and to town. It is also easy to reach trekking paths such as the GR52. We had no problems finding parking along Boulevard de Garavan, but I guess this may be more difficult during peak tourist times. The house is not very well suited for very young children (1-2 years of age approx) because of all stairs and the steep garden. For older children it is great! The owner Han was very helpful and generous and always responded quickly. There was also a nice welcome package with some cookies and Limoncello! In conclusion we would very much recommend Villa Mimosa to anyone who wishes a nice vacation in Menton and do not mind steep stairs but who values a garden, walking distance to the beach and town and a charming old stone house!

Tres belle maison mentonnaise

Belle et grande maison avec vue mer dans les hauteurs de la ville.... Terrasse ensoleillée donc petit déjeuner dehors meme en hiver. Oranges à disposition dans les arbres donc oranges pressées tous les matins ! Que du bonheur ! Les chambres sont spacieuses, nous étions 8 et avions encore de l'espace. Semaine tres agréable nous recommandons cette location.

Eine wunderbare Unterkunft

Im Juli 2016 verbrachten wir eine Woche in dieser wunderbaren Unterkunft. Die Lage des Hauses ist unbeschreiblich. Die Fotos des Hauses stimmen zu 100%, können jedoch nur einen Bruchteil des Anwesens darstellen. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist hervorragend, die Buchung und Abwicklung verlief problemlos. Die nahe gelegene Städte Monaco und Nizza sollten aufgrund der Verkehrssituation (+ Parkgebühren) mit dem Zug bereist werden. Als Abfahrtsort eignet sich der Bahnhof Garavan. Hier reicht jeweils ein Tagesausflug. Da das Haus in Hanglage liegt, ist das Erreichen mit einem Rollstuhl, Kinderwagen schwer umsetzbar. Hier würden wir vorschlagen, vorab Kontakt mit dem zuverlässigen Hausbesitzer aufzunehmen. Urlaub in dieser Unterkunft: Jederzeit wieder!!!
