Why they chose this property
We chose this special corner of Torquay for its rare balance of tranquillity and vibrant coastal life. Set within the beautiful English Riviera, Vomero is nestled in the hills, offering a peaceful, secluded setting while still being just a short stroll from the lively bay with its shops, bars and restaurants. The property itself is part of a stunning Grade II listed building dating back to 1838, now home to six unique self catering apartments full of character and charm. From here, you can enjoy the best of both worlds, relaxing in quiet surroundings with sea views and gardens, then heading down to the coast to soak up the atmosphere, beaches and local dining scene.
What makes this property unique
Set in a quiet hillside location in Torquay, Vomero offers the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience, with stunning sea views from private balconies and an acre of award winning gardens to enjoy. The property is rich in heritage, once home to Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1848, marked by a blue plaque and sits in the heart of the English Riviera, famously associated with Agatha Christie. Guests can stroll to the seafront, town centre and the Princess Theatre in under 10 minutes, while nearby ferry and bus links make it easy to explore Brixham, Paignton, and Dartmouth without a car. With beautiful surroundings, rich history, and easy access to fantastic restaurants, beaches, and coastal towns, Vomero is a truly special place to relax and explore. Guests can enjoy the convenience of onsite parking with a premium, high speed 22kW EV charger - pay as you go onsite.
