THE VILLA
A large Villa, Chiusarella is set into the slopes of a small hill within the 'Villa D'Arceno' Estate. It was once the home of those who worked the land for the landlord whose seat was the nearby 'Villa Arceno'.
Chiusarella has been renovated to high standards with modern comforts; it is now for those who wish to enjoy the relaxing calm of the Chianti countryside in luxury and style. It is ideal for family groups or friends ‘get together's’.
Chiusarella boasts a large patio area perfect for 'aperitivo al fresco'. A long wooden table sits under an extensive porch where breakfast or dinner may be taken, perhaps cooked on the large barbecue? Lunch may also be taken here, shaded from the midday sun or under the shade at the poolside terrace.

The house is built in traditional 'Tuscan' style, stone with brick surrounds in doorways and openings. Chestnut beams and terracotta ceilings complete the scene. Elegantly and tastefully decorated and furnished, the house is light and airy. For chilly nights there are fireplaces in the television room, living room and kitchen to cosy up to.

The Villa offers all the modern conveniences of Internet access, Wi-Fi, 55” T.V., DVD player and Bose ‘Soundtouch’ music system.

All but one of the bedrooms is on the upper floor, accessed by one flight of stairs. Each has the use of its own bathroom and there are insect screens on all the windows so fresh air can be had without uninvited guests. Ceiling fans and air-conditioning are also installed.

Around the house are many seating areas from which to enjoy the views over San Gusmè, and the Chianti to the towers of Siena. To the South 'Le Crete', the famous Tuscan hills beloved of photographers and artists, (a UNESCO world heritage site).
Surrounded by the forest, binoculars and cameras are a must for spotting birds, deer, porcupines and other wildlife.

Chiusarella's guests have exclusive use of the whole premises and grounds during their stay.

‘Chiusarella’ is part of ‘Arceno Rentals Club’ which provides our guests with an inclusive quality service before and throughout their stay. From the initial booking process to the end of their vacation ‘Arceno Rentals Club’ is there for our guests. Inclusively we give a ‘Welcome basket’ of quality local foods and wines for the first weekend for weekly stay. We also supply house wine, a bar of branded spirits and Italian liqueurs for the duration of their stay. Other inclusive services are linen change and supply of consumables like coffee capsules, dishwasher tablets, charcoal etc.
To make our Guests' vacation ‘heavenly’, we also inclusively provide a Five Star Concierge Service.
Guests will be welcomed at the property by members of a dedicated team who will assist and support them during their stay. We value our Guests' privacy and we shall endeavour to be there for them discreetly and when required at a phone call's notice.
Our Concierge manager may assist you with anything from restaurant reservations, excursions to wineries, tour guides and directions, car rental with chauffeur, if required, child minding and more. Should a problem arise, we shall be there for our Guests, allowing them to relax and enjoy their vacation, safe in the knowledge they will be well looked after.

Amazing property!

Stayed for a week for a getaway with my husband. The property is glorious, and the care taken by Gaia to set up reservations and give wise advice about things to do and see was wonderful. I was injured during my stay and Gaia and Alessandra were so helpful, rearranging reservations and plans, getting me a rental wheelchair; their kindness and generosity will not be forgotten and they helped make limoncello from lemons! We are looking forward to doing a redo sometime. Don't hesitate- this is a gorgeous property with too many amenities to list.

A Tuscan slice of heaven

Chiusarella has raised the bar so high it will be impossible for any other vacation to measure up. The privacy, incredible views, charm, location and level of service were beyond expectations. The villa offers so many corners to lounge, dine and take in the beauty of the Tuscan hills. The pool's pictures cannot capture the breathtaking view but neither can words. From booking to check out Anna has been proactive, responsive and kind, and with the gracious help od Gaia, Cendra, and Alessadra, it all felt as if we were attended to by fairies creating a magical week for us. Fully air conditioned, well stocked and furnished, the house offers all modern amenities (bluetooth Bose music system, smart TV, Wifi throughout) in an authentic Tuscan nature reserve, among vines and olive orchards, with our own vegetable garden to pick from. The generous gift basket was the cherry on the top of this exceptional stay. We highly recommend booking but must warn you, you might never want to leave.

Wonderful experience for our family of four in this delightful, large, fully restored Tuscany villa. This is part of Arceno properties a highly professional company that manages several properties in the area and takes care of all the details. This seems to be their more luxurious villa. It is set in wonderful surroundings of tuscan rolling hills, manicured vineyards and picturesque little village of San Gusmè with its romantic church bell on the horizon. The villa itself is as authentic as they come, with multiple nooks and crannies to discover, rustic furniture, multiple delightful terraces. It is however equipped with all modern amenities, including AC, full kitchen, outdoor grill, etc all functioning as expected. It even comes with unlimited supply of property made and bottled wine (which was great quality) and standard bar, higher end liquors (think Johnny Walker, Tanqueray etc), plus a few charcuterie/cheese items to welcome you. Even better if that was possible, is the pool, which is an invigorating 100yards or so walk uphill from the villa. The view from the pool is completely unobstructed, gorgeous Tuscany countryside, and the infinity pool itself would do justice to any high end resort. The pool area has a full bathroom and a full kitchen, not o mention a large covered terrace and even a gym with gorgeous views, we spent a lot of time and even did some cooking there. Overall a wonderful experience for our family celebration at a very reasonable cost

Beautiful Villa in Tuscany

We absolutely loved our stay at Chiusarella! The Villa was big and spacious and had a FULLY appointed kitchen with every pot/pan/tool/kitchen necessity one might need. 2 refrigerators and an ice maker also came in handy. When we arrived there was a large FULL basket of food, wine, snacks and coffee waiting for us! The bedrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The views were incredible, but especially incredible from the pool! There is a workout room, bathroom and kitchen right next to the pool which is only a 3-5 minute walk up the hill from the Villa. And let me tell you, Gaia, the Concierge of the Villa was absolutely amazing with helping us set up 4 glorious days visiting walled cities, excellent restaurants, tasting Cheese at a Pecorino farm and numerous wine tastings!! She even set up for a Chef (Chef Mario who we loved) to come cook for us in the Villa for 3 nights of our stay. She kept excellent communication with us and was readily available any time we needed her or had a question. She helped make our experience an A+++ experience!

Perfectly situated with spectacular pool view

We (family of 4) stayed in La Chiusarella last summer for two weeks and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. To start with, La Chiusarella is perfectly situated far away from any neighbours for absolute privacy. However, it is only a 10 minute walk from the beautiful small village of San Gusme with two small restaurants offering original tuscan cuisine. The Villa is also a good starting point for exploring Tuscany and wonderful places like Siena, Florence, Rada, Greve and Gaiole just to name a few. We quite like that the Villa and the pool with the Anesso are separated so that every family member can have their retreat to relax. The house can also accomodate larger groups very well. The pool offers astonishing views and one can spend hours watching the changing sky and colours. Our favourite place is the terrace in front of the Villa kitchen with its large table that enjoys cooling shade during the day. If one is still looking for sun in the evenings, there is a smal, but beautiful terrace at the back of the house. It is difficult to decide which one of the bedrooms is the nicest, we liked the blue room a lot as it gives a pleasant breeze during the night due to its opposite windows. The house is altogether tastefully furnished and fits perfectly to the surroundings. The kitchen is fully equipped and cooking in the open kitchen with the local foods is an experience in itself. La Chiusarella is 5 star in every way and we will come back as often as we can.

First class villa in an excellent location

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Chiusarella very much. The property is large and very comfortable, with all the furniture and fittings being of a high quality. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with many gadgets and tools for even the most ambitious cook. We were staying in the area during a particularly hot period with the temperature over 38 on most days but the air conditioning was extremely efficient and quiet throughout the property. Wifi was also very reliable with many extenders and repeaters ensuring we could get a connection everywhere including at the pool. The speed was good enough to do zoom or netflix. The villa is very well located for exploring Tuscany, being close to Siena as well as many of the well-known villages. There are good restaurants within a short drive. The welcome basket provided by Arceno Rentals is one of the most generous and thoughtful that I have ever received as part of a holiday rental with many bottles of wine! The inclusion of a bar is a very nice addition and it was very enjoyable sitting out on the terrace with an aperol spritz or a gin and tonic of an evening. The infinity pool was a big hit with my children and since it is further up the hillside from the villa it has outstanding views. The only thing to note is that it is a moderately steep walk up to the pool which you may want to check is suitable if you have anyone with mobility issues travelling with you. Finally, I thought that the villa was excellent value for money given the quality of what was provided and the location and would be very happy to recommend it.

A Tuscan Gem

Upon researching online for a Tuscan villa, I came across Chiusarella. I was very pleased with the extra concierge services that the property offered - Anna and Gaia could not have been more helpful. Through them we were able to arrange pick up from the airport, and for some others in our group from Siena. Gaia also assisted in booking dinner reservations, as well as winery tours and tastings. She made sure we had enough bottled water, wines, and anything else we requested during our stay. The villa itself is so well-stocked with kitchen appliances, we didn't miss anything. A highlight of the trip was the cooking experience Gaia had arranged for us with chef Andrea - it was excellent! The property itself is magnificent. The pictures do not do it justice! There were lemons and limes and fresh herbs - a gardeners dream. It is the perfect location for a large group getaway. Gaia helped us arrange two days of travel in the Tuscan region (Alessandro, our driver was the best). Our last day was spent just on the property enjoying the pool and incredible views. Everyone raved about the beds and linens which were great quality. Nighttime was quiet and peaceful. Overall, this was truly an amazing experience that everyone enjoyed. Thanks to Anna and Gaia for everything!

Great Villa perfect for a group fantastic location

What a treat, within the exclusive estate of Arceno (that we know very well), lies this hidden gem. The owner and the team of Arceno Rentals try to keep it as a secret place and we were lucky the Villa was available. We have been there two year ago late summer but also at winter time the house is just fantastic. Well organised, local team extremely supportive but never intrusive, a luxury holiday worth a five star hotel stay. Views to die for and plenty of local goodies. We travel in a group of friends and some of us stayed at Chiusarella. Worth to return!

Another Month in Paradise

This was our second stay at Chiusarella and though we didn’t think it possible, it was even better than the first. The property has been maintained with great care and the management was as helpful and gracious as we could have hoped for. The private Arceno Estate on which the villa is situated is a unique and special oasis in the heart of Tuscany. While the authentic local restaurants and numerous places of interest make Chiusarella a perfect home base for exploring the region, some of our favorite days and evenings were the ones when we never left the estate. We highly recommend this property and will be back in 2019!

Attention to Detail!

This is a really great property with excellent management. Probably the best place we've stayed (twice) in coming to the Chianti region every year for over 20 years. Example: every potted plant -- and there are a great many -- is drip irrigated! Property is secluded but also secure in that the development has roving security folks (not obtrusive). Both pool and house have exceptional views and are up to date and well-maintained. Our local host (Gaia) was delightful and personable in addition to helping us with some special reservations and general information about the area. And who can fault the unlimited wine! Go!

Enchanting stay and experience

We were so delighted with our stay at Chiusarella. The villa was in immaculate condition, the views were spectacular, the pool was an incredible luxury on the hot days of July. We lacked for nothing really. We were 3 couples sharing the space and there was plenty of room for all of us. The welcome basket was well stocked, as was the refrigerator when we arrived. The wine provided was very good. A highlight of our stay was when Chef Andrea took the ladies into the local towns and showed us how to shop for the ingredients that he would later use in our meal that evening. We went to the butcher, the fruit and vegetable market, a coffee shop and a winery. When he arrived, two of us got a fun and relaxed cooking lesson before the Chef and Sous-chef Eliza took over and served a delicious feast along with plenty of wine. San Gusme was just a short walk through the woods and was very quaint and picturesque. We rented a van from the airport and were able to drive ourselves all over the Chianti region. For our day of winery visits in Montalcino, Gaia arranged a driver for us. She was quite accommodating and was reachable by phone at any time. We hated to leave, but came away with great vacation memories that we won't soon forget. We would return in a moment's notice! Highly recommended!

THE MOST AMAZING PIECE OF HEAVEN IN TUSCANY ! ! !

The property is extraordinary— from the unbelievable pool to the totally modernized and super-well appointed main house— this piece of heaven perched on a hillside not far from Sienna was the sought after retreat for our family between trips in Paris and Rome. The hospitality (thank you Gaia and Ilaria) was the best— super responsive and awesome recommendations for food and entertainment. The local chef, Andrea, was so great we booked him a couple of nights! Can’t recommend enough!

Beautiful Tuscan property and well located!!!

Our party of eight adults had a great stay at Chiusarella and completely enjoyed the villa and all the extra amenities including the local wine, olive oil and welcome basket. Loved the bathrobes on each bed when we arrived - once of the extra special touches that made the experience fantastic. Gaia is the best! She greeted us upon arrival and provided invaluable information during our stay. The villa views are stunning especially for sunsets over the hilltops. Beds and bedrooms were all very comfortable and kitchen is extremely well equipped for your culinary pursuits. Gaia arranged to have a chef cook for us in the villa. A true highlight to the stay! We explored all the major hilltops towns in Tuscany by rented van from this villa so location is quite good. It is in the Chanti Classico region with good access to major highways to Siena and hilltop towns via town of Castelneuvo and San Guesme. Although not quite warm enough for the pool, the pool and pool side terraces were beautiful and views spectacular.. Well worth the short climb up the hill but bring all your beverages and food up with you. Grills available up at pool and on lower terrace by villa. Villa is about about a 15 minute drive via the main road. The drive into the Villa on Arceno estate grounds are on gravel roads but worth the drive for the privacy and beautiful views. I highly recommend this villa and we plan to return soon!

We had a great stay at Chiusarella and completely enjoyed the villa and all the extra amenities including the wine and welcome basket which saved us an evening trip out on our 1st night. Views are stunning especially for sunsets over the hilltops. Beds and bedrooms were all very comfortable and kitchen is extremely well equipped for your culinary pursuits. We explored all the major hilltops towns in Tuscany by rented van from this villa so location is quite good. It is in the Chanti Classico region with good access to major highways to Siena and hilltop towns via town of Castelneuvo. Although not quite warm enough for the pool, the pool and pool side terraces were beautiful and views spectacular.. Well worth the short climb up the hill but bring all your beverages and food up with you. Grills available up at pool and on lower terrace by villa. Walk into San Gusme is very steep, up and down so we chose not to walk it. About a 15 minute drive via the main road. The drive into the Villa on Arceno estate grounds are on gravel roads and a bit further than we expected (about 10 minutes on gravel roads) but worth the drive for the privacy and beautiful views.

Beautiful Tuscan property and well located!!!

Beautiful house in an amazing location. We loved the infinity pool up on the hill stocked with wine, snacks, towels and a shower. Villa stocked with many amenities and wine. We loved being able to walk to the darling Tuscan town of San Gusme for dinner several nights. Only a 15 min walk. Gaia was wonderful. She helped us find the grocery store nearby, and they had a wonderful butcher in the store. Several grills on the property. We grilled often. Can't say enough about this beautiful property. We rented cars and visited Florence twice, and visited Seina, and Montepuciano!!! We would HIGHLY recommend this property!!!

A Slice of Heaven in Chianti

We stayed at Chiusarella in August and could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. Besides the house and grounds being impeccably maintained and appointed, the property itself is situated in the spectacular Villa Arceno, an historic 2,000 acre wine estate filled with Cyprus alleys, grape and olive vineyards and miles of "strada bianchi" (white roads) perfect for walking, running and biking. From the moment we were met upon arrival by the house manager to the last day of our month-long residency, we were impressed by the responsiveness and professionalism of the staff. Every request was met with a smile, and they helped us arrange winery tours, dinners, bocce outings, transportation...and even an apartment rental on the main square in Siena for viewing the Palio horse race. The house itself is charming and comfortable for 8 people, with countless amenities including a large fully-equipped kitchen, an exquisite terrace for al fresco dining, reliable wifi, air conditioners (in bedrooms), two great outdoor barbecue grills and unlimited supply of local wine. The bedrooms all have comfortable king beds (including one that can be separated into twins) and adequate clothing storage. Bathrooms are spacious, furnished with hair dryers and bath products, and there was enough hot water for everyone to shower. Although getting there requires a short uphill hike on gravel path, the pool area offers spectacular vistas, an annex with full kitchen and bathroom as well as ample seating for sunbathing, lounging and eating. Simply stated, no detail was missed when the owners furnished this property. While we spent much of our time in and around the house and the idyllic Arceno estate, we also got to know Castelnuovo Berardenga, a charming nearby (10 minute drive) town of decent size with several restaurants, a bike shop, two supermarkets, a pharmacy and of course a gelato shop. Also, a short but steep walking trail from the house through the forest leads to San Gusme, a hilltop hamlet that has a post office, a few trattorias, a small charcuterie and looks just like a movie set. Overall, the location of the property offers close access to great restaurants, excellent wineries and authentic medieval towns...but at the same time is off the beaten path, tucked deeply away among the vineyards. We have rented many houses in Tuscany over the years and I would say this property combines the best of all of them.

Amazing property in a picture perfect location.Beautiful historic stone house with modern amenities

Our family recently stayed two weeks at Chiusarella and it was an experience we will never forget. The entire property is truly amazing! The historic stone house is set in a picturesque location surrounded by vineyards and olive trees as one would expect in the Tuscan countryside. The home is beautifully renovated on the inside with all the modern amenities one could want. Beautiful kitchen, countless rooms, and Wi-Fi throughout. The layout of the home works well for a single-family or multiple. Many indoor and outdoor places to get together or to sneak away and relax alone with an espresso or glass of wine and a good book. The gorgeous infinity pool is set apart from the main house with a fabulous well-equipped pool house and unbelievable views of the surrounding countryside and nearby medieval town of San Gusme which is just a short drive or walk from the house. There you can find several fabulous restaurants, a small store, gelateria and a post office. The location is perfect! Just remote enough to feel like you are away from it all, although just minutes from several Tuscan hillside towns, restaurants and castles, and minutes away from Siena. We are so grateful for the hospitality provided by Arceno Rentals throughout our stay. The attention to detail including a welcome basket of gourmet food and wine was much appreciated. The endless supply of amazing house wine was a very nice touch as well. Traveling in a foreign country with small children can be daunting. We are extremely grateful to Gaia, concierge for the property, for helping us with reservations and arrangements, advice for daytrip's, and everything in between. In a word, spectacular! Without a doubt, we will return to Chiusarella with our family. We have been home for two weeks and miss it already…

Idyllic retreat in beautiful Tuscany

Having been to Tuscany five years ago, we decided to return only this time wanted to rent a property rather than staying in a hotel. One is never 100% sure when booking accommodation on the internet but Chiusarella was absolutely idyllic and lived up to all our expectations and more. Whilst rustic in its decor, it nonetheless provides excellent accommodation with quality linens and comfortable beds. The large country kitchen is extremely well equipped and provides everything that one would need to prepare a simple or more complex meal. We loved the Arceno Estate which is tranquil and provides a natural haven to an abundance of wildlife which we enjoyed seeing. Chiusarella is positioned towards the rear of the Estate and once there you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by Mother Nature and all the wonders that she has to offer. Despite the apparent isolation, a 10 minute drive takes you to Castelnuovo Berardenga providing restaurants, bars, a supermarket and wonderful weekly market. San Gusmè, although much smaller, is five minutes drive away or walkable for the more energetic. The house provides a beautiful outdoor terrace off of the kitchen where we enjoyed breakfast, aperitifs and dinner. A short walk up the hill takes you to the beautiful pool, another huge terrace and BBQ area and a separate building providing kitchen and shower facilities. Unfortunately for us, due to the timing of our stay (middle to end of May), the pool was too cold to really enjoy but it was warming up slightly every day that we were there. It is a glorious spot with fabulous views across to San Gusmè and beyond. The services provided by Anna and Gaia are exemplary and extremely professional. A wonderful welcome hamper, extensive liquor tray and unlimited red and white wine from the Estate together with Olive Oil were added pleasures. They provide a Concierge Service and whilst we only asked for a couple of restaurant reservations, I have no doubt that they would excel at most requests. Our favourite restaurant is still at Borgo San Felice where we celebrated our Anniversary in real style. It is expensive but the food, wines and service are outstanding. There is so much more that I could add but I think the best way of summing up our experience is to say that we can't wait to return and enjoy the beauty of Chiusarella once again!
