Really nice place. Nice area. Really good for the dogs with two great lounges. Needed help from the Handyman who arrived within an hour and lives locally.

Nice location pity about the price

Nice location pity about the price, don't believe the price I paid was relative to the quality of the property.

Restful Week

Lousy weather but it don’t matter we had a great time! Any niggles we had were attended to in flash. Only one complaint, broadband was at a snails pace, other than that all good

Life on the beach

This is a wonderful property - spacious, cosy, created with care for comfort and in a wonderful setting. What fun to walk out through the garden onto miles of downs, shingle and sand, to walk as far as you wanted, to watch the sunrise, to let the children play out at night, chasing each other down the shingle mounds, then to toast marsh mallows in the fire pit in the garden. I miss it already and only home for several hours!

Fabulous house

Claremount House is very well appointed with high end modern decorative pieces. Excellent house for parties of around 8 to 10 with many areas to socialise. Lovely spaces to relax outside as well including the hobbit hut. Kitchen well equipped and the house is well maintained. The walks from the house directly on the beach are excellent however be mindful the sea goes out a very long way and at low tide might be too far to walk before getting into the water.

Family Celebration

Property photo's and description were accurate. The weather was not on our side but did not spoil our family break away. It was a mix of adults and teenagers but the property allows you to have separate areas for all groups to enjoy and be entertained. Lovely location backing onto the beach would highly recommend for family celebrations that want to spend time together and not feel on top of each other. The owners have thought about everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Very spacious house on the beach

We enjoyed our stay ( 8 adults), the house was very spacious and well furnished. The beds were very comfortable and the outside space was an excellent feature. We enjoyed the barbecue and wood burning hut. Unfortunately, the house could have been cleaner, and we were particularly disappointed to find that the dishwasher filters were blocked with food which was very unpleasant . We had to give them a good clean before we could use it. Whilst there were plenty of pans and other utensils it was a shame that it lacked enough bowls for 8 people. This house would be wonderful if more care was taken with its maintenance.

Just what we needed

Had the most fantastic time here for my 60th birthday and Queen's Jubilee celebrations. Plenty of room for everyone, really well equipped with everything we needed and more. Found we were a sheet and a towel short and that one of the bathroom handles was loose and after a quick text to the owner, was pleasantly surprised when someone arrived within the hour to fix/ sort everything for us. - great service. Plenty of space for all of us with different needs. Teenagers/ young children/ adults( needing to attend teams meetings)/ the dog meant we were able to all get together but also have our own spaces when required. A great base for visiting other places - we went to Hastings - (plenty of things to do for all ), Camber sands - lovely beach but so expensive parking / food/ drinks , Rye - nice hour or two spent in quirky shops/ streets and the oldest pub for lunch. Ashford - convenient for shopping and the international train station meant just a short trip into London for Jubilee day was easy and convenient. Our favourite beach trip was Dymchurch just a 5 min drive away. All day parking cheaper than most other places, a beautiful beach, lovely clear water for swimming, a small funfair and plenty of places to eat and drink at reasonable prices. We decorated the large tiered garden for our jubilee/ birthday party and made full use of the bbq and firepit cabin where the kids later enjoyed toasting marshmallows as the evening became cooler. Great access to the sandunes and stony beach where the kids and adults alike had great fun playing and collecting shells together. Bonus one evening was watching a beautiful young fox sitting on the top fence overlooking his area , the beach and dunes , whilst our family , especially the little kids watched for ages in awe. Will definitely recommend for those wanting a family get together or just a peaceful break.

Weekend Break

We had a fab weekend at this holiday cottage, it was exactly as described on website, kids loved the beach and the garden hut. The weather was amazing so spent all our time outside, Only criticism was there were no biodegradable bags for food waste and nowhere locally to buy them, but the kind gentleman next door gave me some. Overall we had a great time 👍

Fabulous weekend in an amazing property

Such a lovely property, very well equipped, everything we could possibly need. Lovely location backing on to the beach and even though the weather was absolutely shocking one of the days we just curled up and watched a movie (there were 12 of us (all adults) and we had no problems with space) . Any queries were answered quickly by the owners who couldn't have been any more helpful. Would 100% recommend.

Lovely house - does need updating

Gorgeous house and we had an amazing stay, we have been to this property a few times pre covid and we felt the house does need updating, the dish washer was temperamental, the draining board leaks all over the floor, not enough glasses for 12 people, no bedding for pull out bed, - tried to call about this but couldn't get through and didn't want to waste weekend chasing it, the cleaning considering covid did have alot to be desired! Especially bathrooms. But loved our stay and garden is amazing

Lovely house

The house is fine, reflects what others have said. Plenty of space and amazing beach access. There really are very few amenities locally so do come prepared. A couple of niggles house smelt VERY strongly of disinfectant and couldn’t contact anyone to find out how the heating worked. But a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful and peaceful location

Getting the keys were easy the property was stunning it has everything you need, comfortable beds really well designed for all ages and the garage is like Aladdin’s grotto full of more surprises. I managed to work whilst I was there so not sure why the comment about internet made someone leave 3 days early and my business is fast paced recruitment I had no issues. The owner of the property responds quickly to text message and is very approachable. My favourite part of this holiday was going out of the back gates with the dogs that could run freely on the sand dunes and in June!! The beach was fairly quiet due to the mud flats which suited us and it was a beautiful beach. There is a local spar very friendly and two pubs within 5 mins walking distance. The Jolly Fisherman made us feel so welcome every time we went unlike the Mulberry don’t bother if you are not a local and they seemed to always be empty which I think this is down to their attitude to passing trade so we spent quite a bit in the other pub. There is lots around that you can drive to and Rye is a must!! I have dropped a star for overall rating only because the house is a little tired and the freezer door seal was broken but this did not spoil our holiday and I would highly recommend this house to anyone and yes we all had a fabulous stay and would stay again.

Lovely week by the beach

Like many people this was our first week away from home in a long time. Greatstone House really lived up to our expectations. It was bang on the beach. So you could just walk out and play and enjoy the sand. The garden was lovely and sheltered for breakfast in the sun or evening drinks. Great BBQ facilities. Lots of shops and takeaways nearby. So we really did what he hoped, which was just to relax. And this was a great house to do that!

Beautiful seaside break

Lovely house, loved the space on both floors, bit dated, lots of games but most incomplete. Loads of crockey but a a bit higglly pigilliy. Not a single sharp knife, they are all blunt plastic. Fine if you eat takeaways, not so good if you want to cook. Would like to return but will bring our own Knives.

Amazing House

Our family “bubble” stayed for a week (from 3 to 75 years young). The house was impeccably clean when we arrived, had more than enough crockery etc, and plenty of adaptable sleeping arrangements. Beautifully decorated, fresh and bright but quirky. Plenty of seating and space inside for a larger group than ours. The garden is a sun trap and welcome shelter from the wind on some days. There are plenty of terraces and seating places, though there was a fight for the two sunbeds! The highlight obviously for the 3 year old was the beach right on the doorstep through the gate....and for the adults too, who didn’t have to walk far. We often sat in the late evening sunshine with a glass on the top terrace viewing the dunes, dog walkers and the sea. We only explored a few local places as we spent most of the time on “our beach” or Greatstone Beach further up the road (for the ice creams). There were a couple of niggles as you would expect. The downstairs bathroom basin didn’t hold water, the light above the mirror didn’t work. By far the most inconvenient was the timed heating. No 3 year old gets up at 7.45am! Not helped at 6am as the wall heater in the downstairs area had been deactivated. With permission we set the timer to manual so it stayed on and altered the thermostat and radiator valves manually to the needs of time and weather. At least it was warmer at the crack of dawn! It’s a quieter neighbourhood, on a main road so there IS road noise from 6am-7pm, conveniently located for local attractions and places to visit, walkable to the Spar shop and play park. One of the nicer houses we have stayed in! Thanks too to the property manager who dealt promptly with our concerns.

Not great

Unfortunately we had to leave 3 days before checkout because the WiFi was not nearly strong enough for working remotely. Many things in the house did not work. The garden is certainly the highlight, but the house itself is sub standard for this price.

Ideal location next to the sea

An extremely comfortable and well appointed house which is literally ON the beach! Open the gate at the end of the garden and you are on the sand dunes with miles of beach in every direction. We were 10 - grandparents (2) parents (4) and children (4). We had an amazingly happy week.

Fantastic Holiday

We have just returned from Claremont Beach House. What an amazing house, and location. Our age range was from aged 6 months - aged 64 years. The house has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Parking for 3 cars. Walkable to the local fish and chip shop and little supermarket. The beds and chairs are comfortable, there is enough crockery and cutlery for 12 people. It literally has everything you need. And it was so spacious. We were lucky to have seen the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the weather was amazing! I cannot speak highly enough of the house, and the location (right on the beach). The sea was like getting into a bath (never know it so warm). Kids loved it! I am feeling very sad that we had to come home!! I hope we all get the chance to go back again next year.
