We absolutely loved staying here. It was a beautifully unique stay and so comfortable. The bedrooms were beautiful and cozy with extra blankets if needed. And the owner dropped by some freshly baked goods and extra bits we might have needed with 3 kids. Could not recommend it highly enough.
One of the very best cottages we've ever stayed in. The house was just perfect - so comfortable and cosy, the setting peaceful and quiet, on the edge of woods. Lucy and her family were on call whenever we needed anything and made our stay very special.
Really beautiful property with character and original features. We had a great, comfortable stay and enjoyed lighting the log burner on the cooler evenings. The hosts were lovely and communication was great. Set in fabulous countryside and woodland that you can explore, the property is located just a 5 minute drive from 2 towns. And treats from the on site bakery was an added bonus!
Lovely farm with an amazing view. Really nice hosts and very clean rooms. Love to details. We had a really relaxing week and we’re looking forward to stay at this place again.
A lovely stay. Perfect for families. Tranquil setting but plenty to do. . Excellent check in process, and even a bit of fresh produce from the garden during our stay! Highly recommended.

Thank you so much we are so glad you enjoyed your time at The Stables
This is a cosy property in a beautiful location. The owners made us feel extremely welcome - we felt very much at home, right from our arrival. The cottage is very well equipped, clean, and tidy. The views of the sunrise over the forest are amazing!
Peaceful and brilliant for National Trust Properties
Lucy and her husband Barry were so friendly and helpful. The cottage is all you could wish. It is central to many National Trust Properties, probably ten but we visited five all withing easy reach; Standen House, Sheffield Park, Nymans, Chartwell, and Batemans.

Dear Jan
Thank you for your review , we are very pleased you had such a lovely time at The Stables . Thank you for being such lovely guests
Really enjoyed our stay. We had a very warm welcome and the property is really lovely and cozy. It was super clean and had everything we needed. The beds were also very comfortable so slept like a log. The baked goods we could get from their micro bakery were delicious. The gardens were very nice and enjoyed the walk in the woods. It definitely is a very zen like place. Wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.
The Stables are very lovely. It seems a bit remote but the next supermarket is only 10 minutes drive away. Also if you go to Tunbridge Wells you can take a train to London.
The house is in a good condition but in my opinion it needs some isolation. Like there are visible gaps at the windows. Everything else is just fine. There are boardgames and toys for the children in the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and Lucy helps a lot with everything else what is needed.
The pictures do not do The Stables justice. It is far more country elegant, quality, and comfortable. The views are mesmerizing. Couldn’t get enough of watching the sheep and their babies. But perhaps the best part is the hospitality Lucy provided. She was there only when we needed and provided wonderful extra services (cheese and fruit box, eggs & butter, and some wonderful breads and pastries made on the farm). We appreciated all of the sustainability measures as well.
Bellissima location nel verde, casa accessoriata di tutto quanto necessario, padrona di casa cortese, discreta e molto attenta alle nostre esigenze. Buonissimi pane e dolci realizzati dalla Bakery. Consiglio vivamente il soggiorno presso The Stables!
