Two Houses side by side directly on Little Traverse Lake! We are in the process of building the second home, so pictures are not yet available for that home. We will post them as soon as we can.

This is a perfect family reunion spot. The two houses will be rented together with the first house having 4 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. The second house will have 3 bedrooms/ 2.5 bathrooms. The total capacity will be 16 (or 8 in each house).

Come and enjoy a true Northern Michigan getaway. The Sleeping Bear Cottages are located on Little Traverse Lake in beautiful Leelanau County on scenic M22. The houses are side by side and sit directly on the lake, with no road or obstruction between them and the water. There is a grill and a large deck for outdoor dining while watching the beautiful sunset. The sandy area leads out to a dock over the warm, crystal-clear lake. There are also 3 kayaks with plenty of life jackets of every size onsite for your use.

The location of the cottages is perfect for experiencing it all! We are located between Leland and Glen Arbor. You can take a trip north to see Fishtown in Leland, or continue on to Northport or head south to spend some time in Glen Arbor and Empire. There are trails across our lake that lead you out to Lake Michigan within the National Lakeshore so you can walk on the beaches of Lake Michigan for miles!

The Sleeping Bear Lake Houses have a total of 7 bedrooms. The North House has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The two front bedrooms have king beds, and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a full bed on the bottom, twin on top and a twin trundle (sleeps 4).
The South House has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first bedroom has a king bed, the second has a queen, the third is a bunkroom with 2 bunks with full beds on the bottom and twins on top and the fourth bedroom has a full bed (The back two rooms are connected and share a bathroom). Perfect for a family reunion!

The entire front of both houses is windows directly overlooking the beautiful sunsets over Little Traverse Lake. Both houses have a fireplace, a fully-stocked kitchen with a gorgeous lake view, all within steps of the water. For those of you who prefer to do your cooking outdoors, there is a large deck built just outside the sliding glass doors, with a gas grill at each house for the full outdoor experience. There is also a fire pit in front of each home nestled in the sand, perfect for a campfire and some s'mores.

If you are looking for activities, rent or bring a bike and ride the many trails in the area that lead from Little Traverse Lake all the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes and beyond. Or if you like to golf, there are several golf courses nearby. If you want to try the local flavors, there are many wineries, distilleries and breweries in the area. You can schedule a guided tour or try out a few at a time on your own. Leelanau county is known for its beauty and charm. You will not be disappointed if you choose this area!

Relax and leave your worries behind. Come enjoy the splendor of a fantastic Northern Michigan experience without having to pack the kitchen sink. Our cottages come fully equipped from the kitchen utensils and spices to bed linens and beach towels.

These cottages are built so close to the lake, if you want to get any closer to the water, you'll have to jump in!
