This was an amazing place to stay in Rome. Fabulous terrace to enjoy a drink viewing some of the famous monuments. Great access to the northern end of Centro Storico. Had all the facilities you need for a stay in Rome and great local Cafe and Trattoria.
The apartment was very well appointed and spacious. The view was incredible. Having an elevator was so nice.
Host was good: Upon our request, the property manager provided an extra set of towels for each of us (at no extra charge) when we expressed concern that having only one towel set each (a bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth) for 6 nights was not enough. There was expresso and some spices available for our use. All in all a very nice place to stay.
Our stay at this wonderful apartment was absolutely amazing! The view from the terrace is breathtaking. Everything went very well. By the way: You can preorder a parking spot at Parking Gran Melia, just minutes away from the apt. :)
The apartment is lovely and the views were gorgeous! We only wish we had stayed longer and perhaps cooked a meal to enjoy on the patio.
The apartment is walking distance to many sites, but wear comfortable shoes for the narrow cobblestone street. The drives tend to pick up/drop off at the end of the block. We would happily stay again for a longer trip.
This was an excellent property to stay in, and in an excellent location from many/most of the main sites to see in old Rome. Just a few minutes walk to St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museums, and the Castel Sant'Angelo. A bit further to things like the Colosseum and the Spanish Steps, etc, but all walkable. Closest metro line is just under a mile.
The property itself has a great porch and view, is air conditioned (which is a must for summer in Rome), and is very peaceful, spacious and comfortable.
Some things to be aware of. The property is on the fourth floor and while there is an elevator the building can lose power and on a hot day one would not want to be stuck in the elevator so we ended up taking the stairs most of the time. The bathroom is arranged very tightly. The shower has an interior space of about 2.5 x 2.5 feet. Picking up the keys was a bit tricky as the directions weren't quite correct in describing the lock box and combination (keys ended up being in a different box that didn't have a combination).
Offsetting this, the host was extremely communicative and very easy and supportive to work with. Any question asked and they quickly responded with a solution. They also arranged an early car pick up to the airport which was greatly appreciated.
We would try and rent this Apt. again if were were going back to this part of Rome.
Loved our stay at this apartment. Views are amazing from the large terrace and the location is perfect for Vatican and Trastevere. Also good clean and well equipped. Highly recommendable.

First Roman Holiday
The view from the terrace was spectacular morning, noon & night! The apartment is a bit "used" looking - chipped, coffee stained coffee mugs as one example, but was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Future renters should be made aware that taxi service to the apartment is basically impossible. Even when we showed them the access road, they would not drive down it because it is so narrow, curved and cars are parked on both sides. Fortunately, we could manage, even with suitcases, but that might not be The case for future renters. For anyone needing to depend on transportation, this would not be a good fit. We would definitely stay here again because of the terrace and the view, but it's also important to note that there is an apartment above you and a terrace that overlooksthis terrace. So, it's not as private as the "penthouse" name makes it sound.

Beautiful view, hospitality and flat
The flat and terrace were absolutely breathtaking. Check in was nice and easy with Elisabetta. She was very welcoming and helpful with tips about restaurants and markets. Everything was clean and ready to be used. The kitchen was fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, clothes washer, stove, toaster, small counter oven and coffee maker. We rented the second studio apartment as part of our stay. My mom stayed upstairs and it was even more beautiful than the main apartment! There was a stove and microwave which was a nice surprise. Everything was Brand new.
Parking was a little tricky as the surrounding streets are extremely narrow and we had a rental van. We always found parking and the parking lot around the corner was always an option. Everything was walking distance and we definitely took advantage of it!
We were never let down and want to thank Elisabetta and Francesca for the fabulous opportunity of staying here. Can't wait to come back soon.
