We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lake house. The water is clean and the most beautiful blue. The double dock and kayak provides ready entertainment, and the possibility of fish.Very close to restaurants, breweries and grocery store. We would absolutely stay again!Comfortable
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! A peaceful, serene setting, close to Clemson, and a comfortable home with all you need. We hope to come back soon!
This house was so cute! Very family friendly and in a really great spot on the lake in the quiet cove but still really close to downtown seneca and groceries and everything you would need. One of the nicest lakes I have ever been in.
Our family and some friends went to a horse clinic in Clemson for the weekend. This house was perfect. We had 7 adults and there was plenty of space for us all. Everything was clean and the lake view was very nice. Would definitely stay here again
Nice house at the edge of the lake. Comfortable, and perfect for what we were looking for. We'll be back in a few few weeks, I'm hoping this house is available when we return.
We had a great time on Lake Keowee and this home was part of the charm. It’s in a very convenient location relative to town and on the lake itself. It was very clean and comfortable. The owner communicated effectively. We chose this property largely for the view of the water from the deck, and we thoroughly enjoyed having coffee there each morning. There are also great views from the living room and kitchen/dining area. Those rooms are on the smaller side, which would be the only potentially negative thing depending on the size of your group, but it was fine for us (5 people). The home had a lot of small, unexpected “extras” that proved helpful during our stay. Use of the dock and kayak were enjoyed daily. I was a little nervous about the WiFi connection based on the online description, but it was more than adequate and never posed a problem. I would definitely recommend this place, and would not hesitate to book again if returning to the area.
The location of this property on Lake Keowee is perfect. Just minutes from everything! It is a smaller house but we had 6 people comfortably and didn't even use all the bed rooms. We brought our boat and the marina was very convenient for us to unload and load our boat. The marina was minutes from land and water from the house.
We were able to park the boat at the dock at the house. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing you home.

A wonderful 4 days
Me & my 3 friends (and 2 doggies) had such a great time. The house was just perfect for us - it was clean, we each had our own bedroom (loved that all the bed linens were cotton), the kitchen was well-equipped. The lake was exquisite, and the canoe was the best! Having Ingles and the marina so close by was really convenient; we rented a pontoon for 1/2 day to tour the entire lake which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Erika and Karl!
Overall, it was a great stay. The Property Owners were quick to reply and very friendly. They were eager to hear our review of the newly installed air conditioning unit, which was functioning as expected. Everything was neat and in order and the teens had a blast! Awesome dock, paddle boat, and canoe with a tiny beach area across from cove. We brought 2 big inflatable rafts that the boys had a blast with!
My favorite thing about this location is the Location. In a quiet cove. We swam the whole weekend and it was so pretty. The inside livingroom and dining room were really not big enough for a family of 7 but we weren't in the house very much. The bedrooms were nice and spacious. We really enjoyed our weekend and would recommend. The o nly issue i would have is the pet policy was sent after the cancel date and was pretty
Restrictive for a property accepting pets. Other than that we had a great time.

Clemson Football Weekend With Friends
This was our fifth time staying at Lakeside Southern Comfort that should tell you how much we love it. The house is located directly on the lake and has a beautiful view from the back deck. It is a short drive, about 15 minutes, to Clemson's football stadium, which makes it a perfect place to stay for a football game weekend. The house had been nicely refreshed a bit since our last stay with some new furnishings, accessories and fresh bed linens. The only thing that I would suggest is getting some more wine glasses. There were very few to be found in the kitchen cabinets.
It was just four retired guys who went fishing on the Chatooga river. We never really spent any time there except for showers and sleeping. We think that this house is exceptional with all the extra amenities that are offered, we just didn’t have time to take advantage of them. We sincerely would like to come back for some of our future fishing trips
House was ideal. Quiet neighborhood, great access to the lake and marina. House was very functional and the grounds well kept. Absolutely going to return next year.
Fantastic location, beautiful part of the lake, home very clean and well stocked with almost anything one could need on vacation. We really enjoyed swimming off of the dock and using the kayak provided as well. We had a wonderful time and also very much appreciate our hosts being so responsive to our needs/questions.
We had a wonderful time in this lake front cottage. It was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay-extra blankets, pillows, towels and sheets, paper goods, detergents, shampoo and lotion samples. The kitchen was well equipped with nice dishes and nice pots and pans. The house had a comfortable layout and comfortable furniture. The back deck was the entire width of the house with several seating areas. It had safety gates to keep young children or dogs from going into the yard unsupervised. The dock was a short downhill walk from the house. There was an amazing outdoor shower—one of my favorite things! Was water was lovely and cool. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming from the dock and using the kayak. We had the best time!!!

About the host
Hosted by Karl & Erika Hoehne
We live in Asheville, NC, less than a 2 hour drive away. When the kids were young we called it "one Disney movie away". We love to be on the water and our families favorite thing to do is a sunset cruise on a warm evening to watch the sun go down over the lake.
Why they chose this property
We have always been drawn to the water and used to camp frequently on the lake. We would load up our boat, tent and dog and spend the weekends decompressing from stressful jobs in Asheville. When our first child was born, we realized very quickly that tent camping was not as enjoyable anymore and decided it was time to set some more permanent roots. This house was begging for us to reinvent it. So, up for the challenge, we bought this diamond in the rough. We lovingly took it apart and over the first few years spent our weekends putting it back together. It is the perfect blend of cozy rooms, open views and comforts of home.
What makes this property unique
This cozy little cottage has everything you need. It has enough space but not too much that you feel "disconnected" from your family. Deep waters and little boat traffic make it the perfect place to spend the day in the water swimming, floating or having jumping contests off the dock. If you start to feel a little water logged, enjoy an afternoon nap on the hammock under the canopy of the trees or challenge the kids to a friendly competitive game of horseshoes. Taking an outside shower after a day in the sun is the perfect way to wrap up a long day on the lake.
