Le Cinciole organic wine estate is located on a hillside, just outside the village of Panzano in Chianti, in the very centre of the Chianti Classico wine region. It has an extension of over 30 hectares, 13 of which are vineyards and 5 hecatres of olive groves. The rest is abundant woodland. A long unpaved but well-maintained country road leads up to the crest of the hill where the farmhouse and the guest house are located.
The wine makers live with their family in the traditional stone Tuscan farmhouse which dates from around the 15th century. The guest house was built much more recently in the late 20th century as a home for the previous owner's extended family. It has just been completely renovated and now provides accommodation in 2 spacious and sunny apartments for 4 guests each.
The guest house has a common entrance leading to an interior lobby area, from which the apartments are accessed via independent front doors.
The 'Ginestra' apartment is on the ground floor with outdoor stairs leading to the private terrace area in the garden where there are chairs and a table for dining 'al fresco'.
This is a clean, modern apartment with light-coloured wooden floorboards throughout that add to the sense of space and comfort.
Theres are two double bedrooms (one room can become a twin room) and one large bathroom with shower.
The living/dining area has a kitchen area equipped with a dishwasher.
The pool is available for all of the guests during the daytime and is shared with the owners' family.
This is a very peaceful and secluded place to relax in with fabulous views over the historic village of Panzano and the surrounding countryside with the Monti of Chianti as a backdrop.
The village of Panzano has a good selection of local shops, a supermarket, a pharmacy and banks and various possibilities for dining out in wine bars, restaurants or even at one of the celebrated butcher, Dario Cecchini's eateries.
A car is essential to stay on the farm and to fully enjoy visiting the Chianti area. Le Cinciole is an excellent base for visits further afield to Florence, Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo and the southern areas of Tuscany.
