About this property

Bala Park Island Cottage on Lake Muskoka with private 100 ft waterfront lot.

Water access cottage. There is no road to this property. It is about a half km from shore. Free car and trailer parking is available at Whitings Landing. Google 1065 Whitings Rd. Torrance for directions . You can bring your own boat, or rent from a local Marina. (Bala Cove Marina) We also can provide transport in our 14 ft tinny or spacious pontoon boat on arrival and departure. Please inquire.

It is 2 km by boat to Bala under the old swing bridge and across beautiful Bala Bay. The property, a 100 foot lot with a 35 ft private dock on Lake Muskoka has flat grassed area in front and back of cottage. Fire pit at the back overlooking beautiful view of Muskoka rock and forest. Hiking trails on island.

Bungalow style cottage (1100 sq. ft): LR - open to kit/dr, 'L' shaped with cathedral ceilings in all rooms. Pine floors, walls and ceiling.
Kitchen - Well equipped with modern stove, fridge, microwave, washer and dryer and island with sink facing the lake. Muskoka room table seats 8, Vermont Casting wood stove, baseboard heating.
3 Bedrooms - (1) queen, (1) db, (2) twin beds. Additional pine table in living area for 6.
Ideal for 6 persons with additional sleeping available on a double futon. Bathroom-1- 3 pce bathroom- tub with shower, sink and toilet.
A spacious screened Muskoka Room with dining and seating faces onto the east lake view.
This comfortable and cosy, insulated 3 bedroom cottage is located on an island in the Heart of Muskoka.
A spectacular eastern exposure with beautiful sunrises sits on level property and faces wide-open scenic views of the lake rocky shoreline and forest. This property offers splendid sunrises, excellent swimming and free access to public landing and parking.
Mainland is a 5-minute boat ride to the landing; a 10-minute ride will take you to Bala by car or boat.
Enjoy the lake view from front deck or dock or the woods view from the back deck.

We had a wonderful stay over long weekend. The cottage is very lovely, clean, comfortable, and was fully equipped with everything we needed. BBQ was great for grilling. Our hosts were very kind and were quick to respond to any questions.

Bala Park Island Getaway

We enjoyed a beautiful stay on Bala Park Island. The cottage was lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed the screened in porch. Made some great memories!

A slice of Heaven

We had a wonderful time - not just because the cottage is perfect (right on the lake with beautiful views, a dock, kayaks, a canoe, and a paddle board) but also because of the genuine hospitality, responsiveness, and care of Sharon, the owner. The cottage, the lake, and Sharon are all true gems. :)

A totally charming and incredibly well appointed cottage. Shari & Ken were extremely easy to communicate with and attentive. If you can’t find a kitchen implement you probably don’t need it! From the lovely dock, cozy fireplace and canoes/paddle boards/kayak - you will not be disappointed in this rental!!

Great location, clean, comfortable, helpful owners

We stayed at this property for one week and it was absolutely awesome. Me and my two kids and one of my good friends and his two kids stayed here for our vacation. The property is exactly as advertised and was very clean and comfortable. It was well fitted with all the necessary pots and pans and cooking implements as well as a barbecue. The dock was an excellent shape, and could easily accommodate our boat and seadoo. The kids had a tremendous time swimming and hanging out on the lily pad. The water at the end of the dock is about 8 feet deep and was great for the kids to jump off of and there’s a sandy beach area off to the one side. Sherry and Ken are very nice people who are very accommodating to our needs. I would have no hesitation recommending this property to someone looking to have a great Muskoka experience.

A Piece of Paradise

Shari , Ken and family are terrific hosts. There was plenty of correspondence before our arrival about places to visit and helpful directions in the Muskoka region. Shari always a text away! The cottage is sparkling clean and spacious. Kitchen is stocked with everything for cooking . Screen porch - late night dinners were a highlight. We are an adventurous couple so we thoroughly enjoyed using the canoe, the kayaks , the SUP, and going on hikes. Great equipment available. Remarkably no mosquitoes in early September. 🙂The dock was perfect for swimming. Our hosts were very gracious with organizing boat trips across the lake to where we parked our car. Being on Bala Island for the long weekend was a beautiful Muskoka experience. Restful, Relaxing and allowed us to enjoy all the splendours of the lake right outside the door . Great turtle spotting on our paddling trips. Thank you Shari & Ken for the warm welcome.

Perfect cottage getaway

The cottage was very cozy and well equipped. The hosts were very helpful. The location offers a sheltered bay with great sunrises and good proximity to some of the great spots on Lake Muskoka.

Our stay on Bala park island

From start to finish it’s been an amazing experience, the owners greeted us at the landing and transported us across to the island for the start of our stay , the owners are extremely kind,genuine and generous people. The cottage is very clean, cosy and comforting. During the length of our stay we enjoyed hiking trails, canoeing, fishing and being surrounded by beautiful nature right outside the front door!

Great cottage

We had a great time at the cottage. Great location with a great dock to swim off of. Kind of in a cove with a few other cottages. We had fun using the kayaks, paddle board and canoe. The inside of the cottage is also nice and cozy.

Excellent experience! Great summer trip!

Really great vacation at the cottage! We had an excellent time hanging out on the dock, using the provided stand up paddle board, canoe and kayaks! The cottage was clean and included all the necessary amenities! Our little guy had a great time splashing around in the little sand bank next to the dock and really enjoyed the toys that were sent over! We also really appreciated the pack and play that was provided so we didn't need to bring our own. All around excellent trip, thank you very much for making our summer vaca great!

Beautiful and relaxing

Cozy cottage with beautiful views. Located in the perfect spot, just a quick boat ride away from all the amenities we needed. Great swimming off the dock with a shallow sandy waterfront. Highly recommended!
