Plenty of places to sleep but why sleep 8 and only 4 can get to the table to eat. I cooked 3 times a day

Disliked: Cleanliness, location
Cabin
There were dead flies on the floors and dirt and hair on the dust ruffle and mattress cover in one of the bedrooms.
The ride up to the cabin was difficult and made us not want to leave to do things we had planned.

We are so sorry to hear that cleaning was less than perfect. We have gotten with housekeeping to assure those cleaning issues are addressed. For future guests, it is off a gravel road that does have one steep hill. As long as you have 4WD or AWD, it is an easy drive up!

Reviewer Comments:
Before you advertised this property you should let people know how inconvenient is the bridge to get to the property, we basically lost/waste 2 days of our vacation after it rain the day before, they bridge was cover with strong currents and there was no way to get out, thanks to the lord we didn't have any emergency, and have enough food to survive those 2 days. The parking let next visitors know they need 4x4 vehicle very steep and dangerous. Washer didn't work, and no heater in second floor, really with that weather no heater?

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to clearly portray our properties so that we meet your expectations as well as future guests’ expectations. Green Meadows Cabin is in a community which borders the New River, famous for its river activities including fishing, tubing, kayaking and swimming. On occasion, during heavy periods of rain, the river will flood the low water bridge making access into and out of the community impossible. Flooding typically only lasts a few hours then water levels will return to normal once the rains stop. There are rare occasions though when flooding can last for a day, possibly two. Spring is usually our rainy season however this past year we just had a lot of rain and later into the year so this one was very unexpected. We have now added an emergency flooding kit stocked with food / supplies for future guests should it be needed. The cabin is also on the mountain top so like many communities you do have to navigate steeper gravel roads but overall this community is accessible year-round (4WD / AWD during winter months) and hosts numerous full-time residents year-round. The issue with washing machine is now resolved and additional heater has been added upstairs. Overall this cabin offers a lot of bang for the buck with the mountain views, river access and convenient location to Boone, West Jefferson and Todd.
Beautiful mountain top view . The office was very communicative. We spent most of the time out and about since there were so many things to see within an hour’s drive. As a constructive criticism there needs to be more attention given to the cleanliness of the house. We found crumbs in the sofa and on the dining room chairs and the bathrooms definitely needed more attention. The inside doors needed to be wiped down since they are being constantly used. Especially in today’s environment with the corona virus I believe that this should be top priority so that each occupant can feel assured that they are being protected. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Also consider adding television or two in the rooms. Thanks for the refreshing time that we had.
We stayed in this cabin so we could visit Appalachian State University and spend some time hiking and exploring. The cabin was very clean and exactly as shown in the photos. We really enjoyed our time there. We went canoeing on the South Fork of the New River and we hiked to the top of Elk Knob, which was wonderful. At night, I saw more fireflies than I have ever seen at once. They were sparkling in the valley below. It was incredible. We saw wild turkey and lots of other wildlife from the porch.
