Adorable Silver Lake Cottage in Traverse City!

This charming and updated cottage on Silver Lake is the perfect vacation destination! Silver Lake is a 600 acre all sports spring fed lake that offers boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, skiing, swimming--you can do it all! Located just 7 miles to downtown Traverse City, it's a quick drive in for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Or you can stay right where you are and relax by the water with your *private dock, grill, fire pit, and sandy frontage. Our cottage is always kept pet free, keeping the house and yard extra clean for our guests!

Our cottage sleeps 6 with 2 queen bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa in the sun room. There is a fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, washer/dryer, dining area to seat 6, and sunroom with yet another amazing view out over the water. We provide linens, kitchen necessities, etc.

Grab the family and enjoy an amazing getaway at an amazing spot! If you have a larger group--we work with the cottage directly next door & property kiddy corner across the private drive so you can double the memories!

We absolutely loved our stay! The house had such a warm, cozy feel that made it easy to relax and feel right at home. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for guests. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, and we felt completely safe the entire time. It’s in a great location—close to everything we needed, yet peaceful enough to unwind after a busy day. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would definitely come back again!

What a lovely stay at this two bedroom cottage on Silver Lake. A perfect and much needed getaway with a friend. The view was amazing and we enjoyed what the area had to offer. I would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed the larger kitchen since we had a graduation open house to cater to. Bedrooms are small with little luggage room, but tolerable. Only complaint would be the small bathroom and even smaller shower. A larger person would not be able to use the shower. No extra towels.

Relaxation at Silver Lake

Loved this cottage - is small but efficient and has an amazing sun room and great deck overlooking the lake. Katie was really communicative about property and rental and the check-in/out process was very smooth. The kitchen is lacking enough tools to really cook beyond the very basics, but there is a fantastic gas grill that was ready to go! The washer and dryer in the house were a real bonus - and came in really handy. We really enjoyed our stay - this property also benefits from great location - just outside of Traverse City, so it is relatively quiet, but very quick drive to be downtown for dining out and other entertainments! The only thing really lacking was a first aid kit - many properties have one and we realized too late that there wasn't one here (finger cut while cleaning fish). Fantastic place though!

Infestation everywhere

We stayed at this property from June 16–20 and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. The booking process was straightforward, but issues began immediately upon arrival. The outdoor area was overrun with ants and ant hills — from the driveway to the backyard and lake path — making it difficult to enjoy the exterior amenities, including the fire pit and patio.Inside, we noticed many dead bugs on ceilings, walls, curtains, and lamps, which made us question the cleaning quality despite paying a cleaning fee. The bedrooms were extremely small with no space for luggage or storage. The living room couch was undersized and uncomfortable for a main gathering space. The pull-out bed for extra guests was located in a back patio room that was difficult to sleep in due to frequent insect activity and a lack of bug protection.The patio also had glass panels that didn’t seem designed for outdoor safety, which concerned us. The bathroom layout was awkward, with a very low toilet and a shower so small it was hard to use comfortably.After buying and using outdoor bug spray to make the space more usable, we were charged a fee post-checkout. We also experienced an issue with the lockbox during checkout, informed the host, and still received a late checkout fee.While we appreciate the location and listing photos, the actual experience was not what we hoped for. We recommend future guests ask detailed questions before booking.

Quiet Lake Retreat

Loved our stay here! Katie was very accommodating and replied to our messages in a timely manner. The property was beautiful being situated right on the water. The back had large windows allowing us to catch beautiful views of the lake and sunrise over it! Though we didn’t use the lake (too cold), the fall colors were amazing up here and everything was within a short drive from the cottage, including some nice hiking/walking trails. The cottage was very clean, updated, and made for an easy stay! We would definitely come back here again!

Silver Lake Cottage

It is an adorable, modern cottage, right on the lake. Large windows with amazing views. Very clean. Unsure how to turn on heat-owner replied within 10 minutes and problem solved. Cold, rainy day, perfectly comfortable reading and spending day inside (can’t say that about a hotel). Looking forward to returning next year.

Fabulous Location and Lake Views!

I have stayed here twice and it's a delightful little cottage on the water with amazing sunrises and beauty. The beds are very comfortable, nice larger kitchen, with washer and dryer (need to bring your own laundry detergent). The only improvement I would suggest in a stand up cabinet or small table in the bathroom -- there is nowhere to put toiletries, hair dryer, etc. Otherwise, a perfect location and a kind and responsive host.

Perfect in every way!

We loved this property! Close to everything, yet private and so relaxing to be on the lake. The kitchen had everything we needed, as we cooked most of our meals at the cottage. We brought our small fishing boat, and it was so convenient to be able to leave it in the water and use the pier. The public boat launch is quiet and easy to access. Katie answered any questions we had quickly, and was a true pleasure! We definitely hope to stay here again!!!

Beautiful view

The view of Silver Lake each morning was fabulous. The kitchen was great, good laundry appliances. Dishwasher had an odor so probably needs to be cleaned. Was disappointed that the slider did not have a screen, nor did one of the windows in the main living area. The mechanism on one of the casement windows in the sun room was broken and thus inoperable. The dock was great and loved the sandy bottom of the lake. Overall a nice place to stay and the owner was good at communication.
