Cozy cabin on quiet Bass Lake. Minutes from Downtown Traverse City!

Quiet location on a wooded lot right on Bass Lake. The Ohio cabin is only 6 miles from downtown Traverse City and close to wineries, outdoor activities, bike trails and other vacation opportunities. There is a private dock with a patio layout for relaxing on the lake. Perfect for couples or a family with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that are nicely appointed. There is a fire pit with seating for chilling out. We have high-speed wireless internet that even reaches the dock. Bass Lake is an all sports lake with a sand bar for swimming and wading with the little ones. Come and relax in the "Ohio" cabin! Enjoy all one the beautiful wildlife right from the deck. There are other cabins available for rent on the property if you have a larger group.

Cabin was quiet & secluded. Good air conditioning as it was very hot a few days we were there. Keep in mind this is a cabin surrounded by woods, therefore it isn't pristine, but it was still a great stay! Hosts were very responsive & let us check in a little early which was wonderful.

Great cabin. Beds were comfy and the lake is beautiful. I appreciated that they left some good firewood for us and the hosts are very easy to work with and quick to respond.

Communication was excellent! Kathy was so accommodating! She even brought some fishing poles and let our boys use them for the couple of days we were there. Very dog friendly too! It is a cozy cabin for sure, but the air conditioning was awesome and so was the location!

We absolutely enjoyed the serenity of this cabin. There were other cabins close but not encroaching or disturbing. Our pups ran around and enjoyed the property and chasing squirrels. We used the kayaks one day and used this as our home base to travel around sights in the area. The host was attentive and we had everything we needed.

We had a lovely stay here! The cabin is on a beautiful serene lake with much outdoor space to enjoy the lakefront. You are able to have your “up north” lake experience and be a 20 min drive away from Traverse City. The hosts were kind and responsive!

Great little Cabin. It was clean and cozy, but spacious enough for what it was. A/C worked pretty well too! There is a nice firepit area and a nice dock to sit on and look at the lake as well as a nice deck area. That was what I liked, for a "small" space, it had several different nice environments to spend time in. Dog friendly too! Little touches like included bug spray were nice, and there was a good instruction booklet to help with how to use anything. Hosts were easy to work with and attentive as well. Would stay again! It's a cabin, not a house so obviously there is no laundry or dishwasher (It doesn't claim to have these), but if you don't need those things... this is a great space to hang out on a beautiful, quiet lake.

Cute cottage

This little cottage is so cute. It’s small but well appointed and you can’t beat the beautiful lake view and access. I loved my stay. Communicating with the owners was easy and they were super accommodating. I hope to be back!

Enjoyable MI cottage

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the use of the kayaks. Bass Lake is very nice and the cluster of small cottages was very quiet. I was surprised that there was not a permanent stove, but the options that were available worked out fine.

Cozy Cottage

What a wonderful and cozy cabin! Everything you could possibly need was steps away….amazing deck with lake view, fire pit, dock with rocking chairs and kayaks just a few cabins away. We had a great and relaxing time on the lake! Thank you for an amazing stay.

Perfect up north getaway

When you think of up north, Michigan, this cottage is what you imagine! The location is perfect; a wonderful blend of privacy (off of a lake, too), plus very convenient to shopping. We loved our stay. Very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Quiet Lakeside Bliss

My husband, son, small pup and I loved our stay! The well-appointed cabin had everything you could ask for, proximity to town was superb, and the lake was absolutely serene. We had a string of unexpected visits due to the cabin being the internet hub but the owners were easy to work with. Great spot!

Wonderful place and host

Perhaps the best place we have stayed. Great location, very comfortable both inside and out, and the host was top notch. We had a couple minor issues and they were resolved immediately. The pictures are exactly what you get--no surprises. We will stay there again when we get back to the area.

Happy lake cottage

Cozy lake cottage, super responsive and friendly owners. If you want a place to unplug from the grind, this is it. Loons sing in the night and the patio offers excellent lake viewing. Close to downtown Traverse City. Cabin is very well equipped with fans and cooking implements.

My name is Mike Olson. I grew up in Traverse City and now live in Illinios. I enjoy spending time at our cabin with my wife and two kids. I am an information technology professional that travels quite a bit. So far, I've been able to commute out of the Cherry Capital Airport during the summer and spend a lot of time at the lake.

Why they chose this property

My wife spent her summers growing up on Bass Lake with her family. Now, several family members own property on the lake including the group that bought these quaint cabins with us. We love being so close to town, and yet looking out on such a serene setting. The kids really enjoy seeing all the wildlife including turkeys, deer, loons, owls, foxes, woodpeckers, beaver, turtles, frogs, and all the other Northern Michigan wildlife. The sandbars are a great place to swim and wade around with the little ones. We enjoy catching up with friends there while floating in the lake or tossing around a football. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

I enjoy fishing for bass or just taking the kids out to fish for bluegills. The evening boat rides around the lake are great, and we waterski every chance we get. Once a week or so we head over to Boones and have dinner on the big deck while enjoying a local singer play some tunes. We also frequent Oaky's and Bradley's for good food and entertainment. They are close to the cabins.
