Adorable Cottage on Traverse City's Silver Lake!

Silver Lake Cottage is newly renovated & remodeled. It is fresh, clean & the perfect up north retreat! Enjoy time by the lake with 60 feet of private frontage on 600 acre all-sports Silver Lake, *private dock with great swimming & sandy bottom, & bonfire pit by the lakeside patio. Or make the quick 10 minute drive to downtown Traverse City for recreation, restaurants & entertainment!

*Dock & waterfront guaranteed available Memorial Day - Labor Day.


Other Things to Note:
* We provide enough toilet paper, paper towel, garbage bags & dish soap to get your trip started; additional supplies can be purchased at one of several grocery stores close by
* The cottage has well water. Some guests prefer to bring their own bottled drinking water
* Firewood is not provided, but can be found at various stores around town
* Due to a short warm weather season, dock, kayaks & waterfront are guaranteed open and available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. It's possible they will be available before &/or after these dates, but not guaranteed.
* This property is available for monthly rent from November-April each year. Ask us about off season monthly rates!

Perfect Cottage for a Long Weekend

We spent a long weekend here and it was perfect for our family of three. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely book again!

Amazing little cottage

Cottage is extremely nice, clean, easy to find. Nice deck to sit out on with beautiful view of the lake. Perfect amenities. Beds not super comfortable but we were only there 2 nights. Host was amazing with communication. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for a few days, in from Texas.

Check in was a breeze. Property was as billed from ads. We arrived around Thanksgiving, it began to snow and the views were made even more spectacular. Would rent again and recommend to those looking for something cozy on the water or anything Traverse City

The cottage was perfect ( water had an odor which may be “normal”?) Quiet, loved the lake view and location was great for the places we planned to visit. Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful views

Gorgeous views of Silver Lake complete with fireworks shows from back deck over Fourth of July. Easy travel to Traverse City. Only 1 bathroom, but we knew that going in, so we made it work.

Family Vacation

We had a great time at Silver lake. The dock and beach access were wonderful! Our family loved it. The house had everything we needed for a lovely home away from home. We have two little kids, so we didn't need a lot of space. It might be a tight squeeze with more then 2 adults. It was clean and well maintained.

Great stay!

Location was awesome and lake was clean and warm! Only recommendations would be to provide more hand and bath towels. Was told there would be beach towels, which there wasn’t. Also, we’ve stayed at many rentals and usually are provided basics such as sugar, salt, pepper.. none were provided. Other than those small things, house was great for the price.

The host was so nice and communicative. Very cozy cottage and very neat and clean environment. The view of Silver Lake from the rear windows was stunning. Location was close to downtown Traverse City. Would book again.

Cozy, clean and comfy cottage. We had a great stay. Right on the lake. The views are breathtaking. We did a lot of kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing.Wish the cottage had a water softener though. Also, would be nice to have sharper knives or a knife sharpener, and a grill cleaning brush. Other than that, the place is fully stocked.

Beautiful!

Loved it! It was a quiet neighborhood, great view of the lake and absolutely stunning sunrise. The location was close to parks, a variety of restaurants and shopping. The host was very friendly and always quick to respond when I reached out. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Especailly summer, replace the shower head, and I’d give it 5. Put in a water softener and it would be off the charts Great place to stay

Matt & I (Katie!) purchased Silver Lake Cottage in the spring of 2020, so we could be part of bringing families and friends to a peaceful retreat at a place that is close to our hearts, Silver Lake!

Our family loves spending time on Silver Lake, and it's our desire to create a space where families want to come back to enjoy, year after year.

Why they chose this property

Matt is a third generation Silver Lake resident! Matt, both of his parents, and his grandparents were all raised on Silver Lake. Silver Lake Cottage actually sits on part of a piece of property that once belonged to his grandma's family farm - our love for this place runs deep!

Silver Lake Cottage is a quaint and peaceful getaway. You can be as secluded as you would like to be and stick close to the cottage with 60 feet of private beach, or venture out to Traverse City and enjoy everything TC has to offer!
