Property was as described and a quaint, nice getaway from Phoenix. The creek runs right behind the property and is a nice little walk for the family. Plenty of outdoor sitting areas. We saw squirrels, birds, lizards and even had an elk walk right by us at the driveway. There’s a small park around the corner great for kids and perfect for our dogs to wander (fenced). I was concerned about the A/C when we got there as it was 85 degrees inside and only cooled 2 degrees in an hour. But give it another hour and it cools completely and stays nice and works fabulous (just forewarning others not to panic! It works great!)
Kitchen had enough supplies/utensils for us to be able to make all meals after a quick food trip to Bashas (12 min drive). Quiet neighborhood and a nice getaway. Thanks for the accommodations!
This location was ideal for our get a away. The space was just what we needed for the 2 of us and our dog. The rooms were so comfortable and the outside patio and grill were a nice touch. We enjoyed adventuring along the creek that runs through the back of the property. It was very charming and we took some amazing photos. Rachel and Nicky were so amazing to work with and made our stay stress free. We have already recommended this location to friends and family. Thanks for an amazing weekend!
We'd definitely recommend this property and plan to stay again in the future. The property has a wonderful setup with easy access to the river. We utilized the grill to grill brats and we also spent time at the first crossing and caught a bunch of trout. Great place!
Great location with multiple seating areas amongst the back area with lots of trees and a creak. You can hearing flowing water, a short walk down to the creek. Very peaceful.
Unique and comfortable unit within a quad-plex that sits overlooking a healthy creek. Well appointed and clean with room to sleep 5 people across the 2 bedrooms. Kitchen had most everything needed and worked fine. Plenty of parking. Owner(s) seemed friendly and were responsive. Would have liked to see a gas grill available to use because of the open fire restrictions in the forest (there were two gas grills on property but we were told they weren't able to be used).
Overall, this was a comfortable place in an enjoyable environment, but with fees (not including deposit), it came to over double the price of a comparable hotel room, which doesn't seem like a great value.
It should be noted that the photos, descriptions, and reviews for this property include all four units, not just the unit you are booking. The two creekside units are definitely better than the inland units, as the creekside units have large, glass doors, big patios, and beautiful views, whereas the inland units have no view at all, though there are common areas around the property and access to the creek is easy.
The setting is magical, very peaceful, with plenty to do right on the property. It is close to town and to Tonto National Forest.. The apt. has all the amenities, comfortable beds, cute decor and a great layout. The problems we had, which we did not contact anyone about, were lack of screen on master patio door so couldn’t leave open at night to hear the creek and cool the apt., had to run A/C all night, the blinds were broken in 2nd bedroom, the bathtub has a continuous drip and we had to put a washcloth in it at night so stop noise, refrigerator extremely noisy running, and kitchen sink the faucet has to be put in just the right spot, not completely turned off, to not drip (would think owners would want to fix those few items to save money in less electricity and water usage), and it was not very clean when we moved in. We realize people moved out a day earlier but it looked like sheets and towels were washed, kitchen counter wiped down and floors vacuumed only. I spilt some water pouring from a bottle to a glass when we first got there. When I wiped it up the paper towel was dark brown. We had to wash both coffee makes before we could use them as it looked like the had not been properly cleaned in a while. And the water is so highly chlorinated, we had to run out on the first day to pick up more bottled water and ice. And the little gravel in the driveway was so annoying as it was constantly tracked in as it stuck in shoes and we were constantly sweeping or vacuuming. The vacuum doesn’t pick those rocks up well so we could not go barefoot inside as we would at home. We left it cleaner when we left with exception of dirty linens, than when we arrived. All that said, we would stay there again because of the setting. It was a much needed stress relieving get-a-way for us.
