Fabulous contemporary property and a responsive host. The reason we’ve only rated it 4* is not the road noise from the traffic passing in front of the property, but that on sunny summer days, despite closing blinds, opening the windows and running the fans, the living areas often reached 32C by mid afternoon. Sadly there was no external furniture (other than a couple of bean bags) to escape the heat. If only there was a cooling system and/or an outdoor furniture suite for sunny days, this would be a 5* property
We loved our stay here. It was right on the cycleway and near the historic precinct. The view over Lake Dunstan was definitely the highlight but the comfortable beds were also really appreciated.
The location of this property was perfect for us, everything we needed was within walking distance, the lake just a minute away. House was beautiful with everything we needed including a beautiful view. Enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend

Thanks for the outstanding review Howard. You and your family can return anytime.
This is an amazing house in an amazing location. It was a property where our whole family could relax but yet be very active with the water on the doorstep. A house that we will book again in the future.
Ideal place to relax at the end of a fantastic NZ road trip - beautiful house, wonderful location
The house is stunning. Built to take advantage of the location opposite lake Dustan. Large windows, a feeling of space throughout and a great window seat with windows that open right up over the deck offer a great spot to wind down and relax after our South Island road trip, and a good base to visit the central Otago wineries and ride the rail trail.
The property is very well appointed and exactly as promised. Couldn't fault it. Owners were very responsive and helpful - being greeted with a hand written note and freshly baked muffins on the kitchen bench was a wonderful surprise.
The Cromwell historic district is right around the corner, with relaxing walks by there lake and a great bar and restaurant to chill out in the evenings.
Overall, a great stay. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a central Otago get away.
Very tidy, spacious and modern 3 bedrooms. Friendly helpful Property Manager. Owner gave excellent advice and info. Perfect position for views, walks and with close cafes

About the host

My fiance (Penny) and I have just finished building our dream home in Cromwell. We bought the land back in 2013 when you didn't have to sell a kidney to buy a piece of dirt in the vicinity of Queenstown. Penny is a school teacher, and I coach and play rugby whilst working my way into the real world. We love the outdoors, and everything the Central Otago region has to offer. I have just found an addiction to snowboarding (late starter i know!!) so im sure we will be spending a few winters exploring the fields). We are both partial to a red wine or two, and love the world class wineries we have on our doorstep.
Why they chose this property
Originally planning on relocating a house to a section in Cromwell, we decided an old house on this site wouldn't do it justice. So we saved our pennies and spoke nicely to the bank.
What makes this property unique
Great views, right in town. Only a skip away from wineries, ski fields and other Central Otago attractions.
