Morningside a Private Secluded Rustic Seaside Cottage In The Village Of Corea
This is a rustic 2 bedroom/1 bath seaside cottage in the village of Corea it is a very remote setting where you can rest, relax, and rejuvenate a great place to escape from reality. Sit and relax on the shore in front of the cottage and watch the lobster boats hauling their traps or take a walk along the beach searching for shells and sea glass. The evening sky is great for star gazing or build a fire and toast some marshmallows. Our cottage is conveniently located only 6 miles from Winter Harbor where the entrance to the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park is, as well as the ferry service that goes to and from Bar Harbor. A true Coastal Maine experience

The place was very clean. It was easy to get to. Check in and out was really easy. The views here are stunning (especially the sunrise). It is right on the water. It was about an hour to the main entrance to Acadia National Park. They had a guest book with loads of helpful information on the area.
Pictures and details do not do the property justice! Quiet secluded beachfront property to yourself. Corea is just a village - nearby town of Birch Harbor has an decent mart in the gas station. Load up on groceries in Ellsworth. Highly suggest the Lobster tour in Corea, lovely 2 hr boat tour to lighthouse and to pull some Lobster pots.
This retreat was just what our small family needed. We wanted to be on the water and away from the crowds, for some much needed peace and quiet. Not only did Morningside Cottage fit the bill, it was well appointed, cozy, and the perfect space for us. There’s nothing like walking out the door to walk the beach, seeing the gentle water from the comfort of your bed, and feeling one with nature. A quick walk to a sandier beach provides hours of exploration as well. Our hosts were quick to reply, give info, and help as needed. Definitely hope to come back!
The view was fantastic in this quaint, rural, rustic fishing village. All of the details were attended to and made for a great stay! Check in was simple, communication was clear and we truly enjoyed everything!
This is our family's third time staying at Morningside and we couldn't be happier with the property, location, and everything it provides. Melissa & Dan are awesome hosts, very responsive and easy to work with. We will definitely be back for years to come!
Morningside Cottage was the perfect home base for our first visit to Maine. Our 5 and 7 year olds loved playing on the beach out back and the firepit. The cottage was immaculate and very well-stocked. We would definitely return!
The cottage was better than anticipated- the photos don’t do it justice. It was in an excellent, quiet location and we had everything we needed for a comfortable few day stay exploring Acadia and the surrounding area and checking out the fall leaves. It was great to have ocean access to search for shells during low tide. Would stay here again!
This is a special and gorgeous spot. A quiet corner of the Acadia area all to yourself. Close to unique and charming places to eat, explore, and discover. The surroundings are pristine. The cottage is perfect for a small family. A small beach right in front of the house provides the perfect natural playground. We want to go back! Thank you so much.
Best cabin I ever had - direct to the ocean, well equipped. Wish we could stay there for longer…The owner prepared our stay with a lot of useful information and called back immediately when we had a question.
This was a wonderful weeklong rental experience for us. The cottage was situated in a quiet, lovely wooded area with a full view of and access to the ocean along with a grassy area perfect for kids to play outside. The owners clearly take very good care of everything. The cottage was clean, fully stocked and aesthetically pleasing. We had everything we needed for a fun, comfortable vacation exploring the coast of Maine!
The pictures don't do the place justice. It's about the perfect quiet little cabin retreat! A great section of beach right out the front door, and a cozy space inside with all the important ammeneties you need for a short or long stay. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves lapping just feet away from our bed. Didn't hurt the weather was about perfect. We're already talking about when we would want to return.
The Highlight of our New England visit! This beach cottage was perfect! We are from California, and wanted a Maine coast experience. The view is just spectacular…. Sunrise out the bedroom and front windows, passing lobster boats, lots of birds. Just right for nature lovers like us. Small fishing village, lovely to look at harbor. It is a drive to get to Acadia main park and Bar Harbor, but we loved being away from the crowds! Took a small ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor one day, the ride was awesome and people so kind and informative. Would love to return some day!
This was such a gem off the beaten path. Be sure to catch an amazing sunrise. If you are lucky you can see the deer that come to visit. The night sky is truly amazing. The cottage is comfy and well maintained. Melissa was extremely helpful. You wont go wrong with this property.
Our family had the most amazing time at Morningside. From the second we drove up to this adorable beach cottage we were in love! The cottage is rustic, but comfortable and well-appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Our daughters loved being able to just walk a few steps to the beach and we loved getting to sit and relax and watch them. I spent many mornings watching the (very early) gorgeous sunrise and the lobster boats drive by. Melissa and Dan were incredible hosts and we also went on the lobster boat tour run by their awesome family and it was one of our favorite experiences on our trip. We cannot wait to come back again! We miss Maine and this area so much already!
We absolutely love this place! You should have heard us when we walked in after dark. Everyone was delighted! We were a little concerned about booking a rustic cabin because our family has mold allergies, but we had absolutely no problems. It smelled great and we all felt so good while we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for such a wonderful cabin to stay in on the coast of Maine.
Nice older cottage right on the water! Our kids loved the beach as well as the natural land bridge just a small walk away! Plenty of space outdoors to explore and the fire pit was great every night listening to the ocean. Try and book a tour with their own lobster boat tours. You literally catch your dinner. Dan does a great job and you will learn so much. Only 5 minutes from the cottage.
This was an exceptionally clean cottage, and was furnished with basic necessities, to include laundry detergent, firewood, and equipment to cook lobster. The owner was easy to reach and we communicated by text message.
The beach is secluded, and during a one week stay, we only saw one couple walk through our portion of the beach. We typically would hit the beach early in the morning and in the evenings and look for sea glass and other treasures that might have washed up on the beach. In the evening I would sit by the campfire and watch the ocean and the stars. I got to see a seal swimming near the cottage.
The cottage location is perfect for those that want to avoid the more heavily crowded areas. We explored the coastline from Schoodic Pennisula and Winter Harbor, up to Lubec, and saw Jasper Beach, and stopped in Machias.
We look forward to staying at this cottage in the future.
Wow! This little cottage is exactly like it is shown in the posting. It is furnished with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and throughout. It was so peaceful to sit on the deck with morning coffee and watch the sunrise. I was sitting out there one afternoon, looked up, and a little baby deer was peeking at me through the deck railing. :) The owner, Melissa, was always available if I needed her and she replies promptly. The area is quiet. It was a short drive to Acadia on the Schoodic Peninsula, and only a few minutes to a little cafe called "Lunch on the Wharf". This was the best part of our New England road trip!
We had an incredible stay at Morningside! We were fortunate enough to meet the owners, Dan & Melissa, on our first day there and they were fantastic! The cottage is everything they say it is; the view is spectacular (can't beat being right on the water!) it's clean, neat, organized, and came with all the "extras" we needed. They even provided sample soap and shampoo from a local shop called Prospect Harbor Soap Co. We loved the samples so much, we shopped there and took home some of our own goodies :) (thank you for providing these!). They also provided campfire wood, which we utilized a few days during our stay. The area is quiet and semi-secluded, which was exactly what we were looking for. We also enjoyed being able to travel a short distance to different harbors. There is also a company, less than 1 minute from the cottage, where you can go and purchase lobster, crab, etc. right off the boat...we did this twice during our stay and it was affordable and very delicious! Overall, we really enjoyed our time here...it was the perfect place to stay for our first visit to Maine! Highly recommend! We hope to come back again someday. Thank you!!
If your looking for a remote setting to escape from reality, this is the place. We are only a 6 miles from the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park which boasts amazing views and wonderful walking, hiking and biking trails
