About this property

Baudin On Bay—Family Escape by the Foreshore

Summary:

In the heart of Dunsborough, this welcoming home sits directly opposite a leafy foreshore park, just steps from the calm waters of Geographe Bay. A perfect blend of relaxation and convenience, it is within walking distance of cafés, boutiques, and coastal walking trails. With a fully enclosed garden featuring a trampoline, swings, and a treehouse, it’s ideal for families. Unwind on the wraparound verandah, enjoy alfresco dining, or cosy up by the wood heater after a day of adventure.

The Space:

Shaded by peppermint trees, this charming home offers plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy. The wraparound verandah is perfect for soaking up the surroundings, with an inviting hanging chair, comfortable seating, and a wine barrel table for relaxed afternoons. The front deck overlooks a beautiful foreshore park, providing a peaceful outlook just steps from the beach. In the fully enclosed backyard, kids can play freely on the trampoline, swings, and treehouse while parents unwind in the garden.

Inside, the open-plan living and dining area is bright and stylish, featuring a large wooden table, a plush lounge, and a flat-screen TV. A wood heater ensures warmth on cooler nights, while reverse-cycle air conditioning and ceiling fans keep the home comfortable year-round. The well-equipped kitchen includes modern appliances, ample counter space, and a Nespresso pod coffee machine to start the morning right. Air conditioning in the main living area and three of the bedrooms ensures year-round comfort, while ceiling fans provide a cooling breeze.

The primary bedroom features a king bed, TV, and DVD player, while the second king bedroom provides another restful retreat. A third bedroom offers a queen bed and TV, and the fourth is ideal for children with two single beds. Two bathrooms, including one with a bathtub, add extra convenience.

A full laundry with a washing machine and drying racks ensures longer stays are effortless. Off-street parking makes it easy to explore the surrounding area, whether you're heading into town, to the beach, or on a scenic drive through the region.

A starter pack of wood is provided during the winter months only (June – August). This includes kindling, firelighters, matches, and wood. Axes are not supplied due to safety reasons. Additional wood may be purchased from a nearby fuel station or hardware store.

Guest Access:

During your stay, you and your group will have the entire home to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!

The Neighborhood:

Take a short walk through the park to reach the calm waters of Geographe Bay, perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or a morning stroll along the shore.

Dunsborough’s town centre is within easy walking distance, where you can enjoy a coffee and pastry at Merchant & Maker, a leisurely brunch at Yarri, or an evening meal at Blue Manna Bistro, known for its fresh seafood. If you’re after something casual, grab fish and chips from Squid Lips and enjoy them by the water.

For outdoor adventure, the Meelup National Park walking and cycling trails are nearby, offering breathtaking coastal views and native bushland. Hire a kayak or stand-up paddleboard from South West SUP for a peaceful paddle in the bay, or, for those seeking more adrenaline, head to Yallingup Beach for world-class surf.

Great time

Property is really nice and the location is great. A really short walk to town and you can fall onto the beach. We only stayed 4 nights but wish we had stayed longer.

Great feel and location - ideal for three couples - will stay again .

Only suggestion is fox sport - and maybe carry drive through to bin area - sand at the minute until grass grows.

Nice house for kids

Facilities for kids were great & the main reason we booked the place however we felt the house could really benefit from an outside area for eating / entertaining. Right next door is a building site & it’s a bit off putting having tradies looking directly into the garden while they’re working next door. Beside that the location was excellent- so close to to town & right across from a park & the beach. Homeaway did not respond to any communication & we ended up dealing directly with exclusive escapees who were excellent. We wished we’d booked directly with them as they were excellent & didn’t charge the ridiculous booking fees & charges that Homeaway do.
