The Wombat Studio on Acton is a bright Studio apartment in a tranquil setting with private guest access. If you enjoy waking up to the sound of birds chirping rather than the drone of traffic and the hustle and bustle of city activity, you will enjoy the peace of the Studio.

The Studio is separate from the host's residence and accommodates two adults with ease. Facilities include; bathroom, laundry, kitchen with hotplates, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker and small fridge. The kitchen is also well equipped with crockery, cutlery including coffee and tea making facilities. A private courtyard with a guest barbecue and outdoor dining facilities are also available.

Relax on the comfortable sofa whilst logging into the free WiFi or watching the 43" flat-screen TV.

The studio is part of a 5-acre property overlooking Frederick Henry Bay towards the Tasman Peninsula. Free-ranging wildlife is abundant on the property and surrounds which can quite often be seen grazing at dusk.

Safe and easy off-street parking for up to two vehicles.

The Wombat Studio has gained all relevant Council approvals for short term holiday accommodation and holds a certified Occupancy Permit - Permit No. 6/1516.

A later check-out time may be available upon request.

As this is a semi-rural area it is highly recommended that guests have their own mode of transport as the public transport system is extremely limited.

Free Airport pick-up or drop-off can be arranged if required.

A comfy studio with everything you need for relaxing break

Wombat Studio is one of the best studio apartments we have stayed in located in a quiet rural setting with a lovely and helpful host. It had everything we needed for an overnight satay at the end of our holiday but would also be a great base for exploring Hobart/Port Arthur. We would love to come back!

So pleasant we wished we could stay longer!

We were looking for a quick, convenient stay close to the airport and transfers for our overall holiday, and man, did we hit the jackpot! Patsy and the Wombat Studio were a delightful surprise. Spotless, comfortable and peaceful, we are so disappointed we could only stay one night. Patsy was SO generous with her time and airport transfers, and the breakfast included was perfect for our needs. Definitely adding to the list next time we are in the area, for a long term stay.

Perfect place to start or finish your tour of Tasmania. I am an animal lover and well-known carer of injured or orphaned native wildlife in Tasmania. I was employed for 14 years by the State Government as the Coordinator of the Program which placed injured and orphaned wildlife with the volunteer carer network around the state (now retired).

Whilst I love all native animals, my favourite is clearly wombats.

My involvement with, love and respect for such incredible creatures led me to call our accommodation 'The Wombat Studio'.

Why they chose this property

The Wombat Studio is part of a 5-acre property in a semi-rural area. Acton Park is considered a safe area, is an easy short drive to Hobart Airport, yet far enough away to not to be bothered by aircraft noise. The studio is located 400 metres from the main road, therefore, is a quiet and private location. Even though we are not located within the hustle and bustle of the city, Hobart is only a short 20-minute easy drive. Many southern Tasmanian tourist sites are an easy drive from the Studio, for example, the Coal Valley Wine region, Richmond Historic Township, Port Arthur Historic Site and Mount Wellington, just to name a few. The Wombat Studio is warm in winter, cool in summer with the bonus of a pleasant view over Frederick Henry Bay.
