About this property
Creekside in the Smoky Mtns.
has a rejuvenating quality. Something we all need!
Creekside is a tobacco free property located on 6 acres nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina alongside Drymans Creek. We have just one rental unit, so booking a stay at Creekside, you will be the only guest. It is 800 square feet all on one level from your car to the door with bath and shower one step up. The unit has been remodeled on the lower level of our home overlooking Drymans Creek with a view of the mountains and a horse pasture . It has a covered deck and private entrance. It is most private and quiet. Listen to the serene sounds of the crystal clear water rushing over the rocks, take in the mountain view from the deck with the creek below. Watch horses graze in the neighboring pasture. Walk the creek taking in natures splendor. You might like to pan for gold or hunt for arrow heads in the creek! Hike the many trails nearby. You will especially want to visit Pickens Nose a rock outcrop on top of the mountain and stand at 5200 ft and look into the valley below. The Appalachian trail is nearby and water falls abound. Our area has been the setting for Hollywood movies too! The original "Fugitive" was filmed nearby. The train wreck is still visible too! "Deliverance", "Last of the Mohicans". Most recently "3 Bill Boards Outside Ebbing Missouri" to mention a few. If you are an antique motorcycle enthusiast you'll want to visit "Wheels Through Time" motorcycle museum showcased on TV as the show "What's in the barn". There's so much to see and do you won't want to leave! Motorcycles are welcome with easy access from highway. We have covered parking for motorcycles if needed. Also in the event of a motorcycle break down, we have a trailer setup for transporting large touring bikes and a good shop to take it to. Please note our Rules & Policies.

We loved our stay! The owners were on site for anything we needed. The home was very Comfortable and private. We enjoyed it so much, we didn't want to leave!
We had an amazing honeymoon at creekside! They are so welcoming and warm. They are very generous with their local wisdom but give you complete privacy!
Plenty of room inside and outside. All the amenities you can imagine. The outside areas and creek below are very relaxing as well as an open Mountain View from the porch. Very private and homeowners will answer any questions you have about the area. Would highly recommend a stay here!!!
We had an amazing time, what exactly we were looking for. The hosts Joseph & Joceline great friendly people!
Thank you for everything, hope to be back soon!
Wonderful! Property, home and hosts all wonderful! We so enjoyed our get away. So many things to do within a short distance of this beautiful, private and quiet haven!
Perfection. Well appointed with a rural setting. Bed was more comfortable than ours.
The property managers were a joy. Non intrusive but very friendly and available. We will definitely use this listing next time in the Franklin NC area.
Beautiful setting with creek on the property. Great deck to sit out and listen to the creek and also a nice swing. This property was private but close enough to nearby historic towns to visit. Very clean and all amenities supplied. Looking forward to returning to this property again.
Our stay at Creekside was wonderful!
Joe & Joceline are the perfect host with a wealth of information to help you navigate
The surrounding sites. The setting is beautiful, the house clean and cozy and amenities outside to enjoy nature.
What an AMAZING view! If you love sitting on the porch drinking your coffee and listening to the flowing sound of the creek this place is for you! It is a quaint little place with a lovely view! We will be back in the summer!
I cannot rave enough! The Volks are gracious and Caring hosts who strike the perfect balance of help when needed and privacy for all. The apartment is well stocked, the view is amazing and the grounds are ideal. We walked the creek, saw lots of deer and wildlife, sat on the porch for hours and listened to the rushing creek waters. It was hard to leave.
We had a lovely stay. We felt very welcome. The owner was absolutely committed to doing whatever he could to make our stay enjoyable. It was an unexpected treat to be invited to pick fresh blueberries and to be welcomed with fresh eggs. We would certainly consider staying in this property in the future.
We have stayed at Creekside three times so far this year during different seasons. Regardless of the time of year, Creekside has a character all its own. We enjoy the large porch, the well equipped kitchen, the sound of the creek, and the comfort of the huge bed.
Over all this was a great experience. Owners of the property were very gracious and helpful. The property its self was scenic and very relaxing. You are stay in the lower half of their residence but we didnt hear them at all. Again we cant say enough good things about this getaway . Thanks
It just doesn’t get any better than this. This was our fourth stay at Creekside and our first stay during cold weather. The pellet burning stove was a delight to watch as well as provide warmth. This has become our home away from home and we will be returning soon.
J&J place is lovely. Joe greeted me when I arrived, he was so welcoming and shared with me all the different activities and places to explore around the area. They were available for anything I needed. Sitting on the porch and listing to the creek was my favorite spot. I also enjoyed walking along the creek and spending quite time there.
Joe and Joceline’s home was beyond our expectations. It was perfect in absolutely every way. The accommodations, property being on the creek, and Joe and Joceline’s taking care of our every need was second to none! Oh, and did I mention the fire pit at night with the sound of the water in the creek was like a dream come true.
We will be coming back for many more exciting adventures.
Thank you, Joe and Joceline!

My husband and I come frequently to Franklin, including twice a year for the wholesale gem show. We are quiet folks, and when we stay somewhere, a peaceful location is very important. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or location. The view of the mountain and the beautiful creek were exactly what we were hoping to find. We didn’t have time to enjoy the firepit, but I’m sure we will return and utilize it then. Everything was so clean and thoughtfully arranged. Everything we needed was provided. The notebook for guest information was perfect! We also enjoyed the information on places to eat. The furnishings were exactly right: a comfortable bed, comfy recliners, and a very well-equipped kitchen. Who could ask for more? While we didn’t have the opportunity to meet Joceline, we enjoyed our conversations with Joseph. Such a welcoming host!I’ve been coming to Franklin since the 1960’s, and I must say that I’ve never stayed in a more comfortable and welcoming place. We highly recommend Creekside!Thank you, Joseph and Joceline!
Creekside was awesome!! It was a beautiful property inside and out! The inside was beautifully decorated, spacious, and everything we could possibly need was available. The kitchen was wonderful, bed was great, and the porch was probably our favorite. To sit together on the swing and just take in the beauty of the scenery and to hear the peaceful sounds of the creek was so relaxing and peaceful.
Joseph was so kind to take us on a tour of the beautiful neighborhood but we were sorry we missed meeting Jocelyn.
Again I can't emphasize enough that this was a perfectly wonderful stay with everything we needed and more!
This is one of the best places in which we have ever stayed! The condo is wonderfully clean and has everything one needs for a cozy, comfortable get-away. The peace and serenity of Creekside is perfect for a respite from the new "normal". Joe and Jocelyn are wonderful hosts, giving as much (or as little) attention as needed. We were really happy with the sounds of the creek and the birds in the surrounding woods as well as with the sights of the horses playing in the field across the way, the chickens in their coop, the lovely garden and yard, and the sweet puppy Wally with his welcoming, waving tail and smiling face. We hope to visit again this wonderful mountain paradise.
From the moment we arrived to the day we (reluctantly) departed, Joe and Jocelyn made sure we were comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. While they were very gracious they remained unobtrusive. The property is secluded but still less than 20 minutes from downtown Franklin. From the porch there is a very pleasant view of a broad stream with horses pastured nearby. We ate every meal for 10 days on the porch soaking in the serenity and slept with the bedroom windows open listening to the stream. We are already planning our next visit.
We in enjoyed the quite landscape and babbling brook while relaxing on our shaded, totally comfortable, and secluded porch.
John designed and built this lovely get away. We enjoyed the interior design too. It had everything we needed for our 3 day stay. The Highlands, NC was a beautiful short drive through the mountains. Where we spent a couple of shopping sprees.
Our only negative comment:
WiFi was iffy, but our host had mention that. He also told us that could change as the 21st century keeps getting closer to the remote corner of the state.
