About this property
Nantahala Nookie Nook: A weekend retreat w/ stunning long-range mts views.
Run away to this cute 1950s mountain love shack, reborn as a couple’s playground on the edge of Nantahala National Forest in Franklin, North Carolina.
Built for two, this oversized one-bedroom, one-bath gem rocks tongue-and-groove walls, shiny new floors, and a kitchen so slick you’ll want to whip up midnight snacks. Snuggle in the king-size poster bed and ogle Wyah Bald—the big kahuna of peaks—and the Appalachian Trail through a 90' triple slider that’s basically a love letter to the view. South-facing windows flash tree-and-hill eye candy, while the kitchen’s twin peepers spy a dangling vine on the front balcony—nature’s own flirt. Chow down at the high-top table for two, framed by four giant windows spilling mountain magic, then melt into massaging recliner loveseats by the electric fireplace with a TV begging for a rom-com marathon.
Swing together on the oversized wooden perch under the balcony, giggling to the forest’s rustle below, or wander the terraced slopes hand-in-hand. Inside, get goofy with a pool table, foosball, and a retro arcade machine blasting 80s and 90s vibes—plus a second big TV for late-night battles. A rain shower that’s pure decadence, washer/dryer, and dishwasher keep it chill. Whether you’re trail-hopping the Appalachian, smooching on the rear balcony, or just soaking in the forever views, this quirky couple’s den is your Smoky Mountain mischief HQ.

About the host
Hosted by Jeanette Dutton

We are a family that loves to travel! As you stay in our cabin in the mountains, know we are off somewhere on our own adventure! Perhaps our paths will cross one day, and we can sit, share a drink and tell travel stories. That would be fun. Until then, let the adventures begin...
Why they chose this property
One step onto this cabin's porch and you'll understand why we purchased it. It was the swing! Yes, the swing. We sat down and observed the most beautiful mountains on a sunny afternoon, heard the birds chirping and felt the soft breezes of the range. We were sold.
What makes this property unique
The view! Really, it's the view. We've taken this cabin to the studs, updating all the systems, walls and layout so almost every room in the house has 'the view'!
