🍂 The Little Farmhouse – Your Private Country Retreat at Oostema Farmstead
Wake up to birdsong and big sky views. Sip your coffee as the sun rises over the pastures of our 117-acre working Wagyu cattle farm, with nothing on your agenda but rest, nature, and maybe a walk through the raspberry fields.
At the Little Farmhouse on Oostema Farmstead, you’re not just staying somewhere—you’re slowing down and reconnecting with what matters.
Escape to a quieter rhythm of life.
The Little Farmhouse at Oostema Farmstead is your private, one-bedroom retreat set in the heart of our peaceful 117-acre Wagyu cattle farm. Perfect for adults seeking space, calm, and comfort, without the crowds or chaos of hotels.
Watch the sunrise from your patio with a warm drink in hand and nothing on the agenda. Soak under the stars in your private hot tub. Cook with Wagyu raised right here on the land you're staying on.
Why This Place Feels Different
- Guest-only hot tub (reserve your time slot)
- Full kitchen with essentials for farm-fresh meals
- On-site farm store with Oostema Wagyu, eggs, bacon & more
- Cozy queen bed with premium linens
- Peaceful views, private entrance, easy parking
Inside the Farmhouse
Step into a warm, thoughtfully prepared space. The queen bed is made with soft, premium bedding. The full kitchen is ready for slow breakfasts or a home-cooked dinner. The living area invites you to stretch out, curl up, or just be still.
There’s no rushing here, just space to unwind at your own pace.
Outside Is Yours to Explore
Start your morning with coffee on the patio. Take an afternoon walk through raspberry fields and open pasture. Watch golden-hour light spill across the foothills. This is the kind of place where time slows down, and you’ll want it to.
Your farmhouse includes a private entrance and a dedicated parking spot just steps from the door.
Hot Tub + Farm Store
The hot tub is open daily from 8am to 10pm, with extended hours available by request. After booking, we’ll send you a link to reserve your private soak time under the stars.
During your stay, swing by our small on-site farm store. It’s stocked with Oostema Wagyu beef, sausage, and fresh eggs, raised and packaged right here on the farm, plus other local favorites.
What to Bring
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and cooking essentials, so you don’t need to bring anything but your favorite ingredients. Forgot something? Just ask, we’re nearby and happy to help.
Pet Policy
We welcome one well-behaved dog under 50 lbs with prior approval and a pet fee. Dogs must be kept leashed, quiet, off the furniture, and supervised at all times. Please add your pet to the reservation to view the fee and confirm approval.
To Book
Please include the code word “FARMSTEAD” in your message. This confirms you’ve read the listing in full and agree to the house rules. A short rental agreement may be sent before arrival for your peace of mind.
The Farmstead Experience
Oostema Farmstead is a real, working Wagyu farm. You will meet the Wagyu cattle, guests enjoying their own quiet corner, or hear the occasional hum of farm life, but things here stay peaceful and low-key.
We host other guests too, but it never feels crowded. There’s plenty of space to explore, or just stay tucked into your little haven.
Stay Longer, Unwind Deeper
The longer you stay, the more you’ll enjoy. Guests who book 3 nights or more receive added value, more time to soak, more meals made with Wagyu, more quiet mornings with nothing to do.
Discounts are applied automatically when you enter your dates.
Your Hosts
We’re Glen and Lisa, your hosts and the folks behind Oostema Farmstead and Oostema Wagyu. We’ve welcomed over 4,000 guests worldwide and would love to welcome you too.
If you need anything, we live in the main farmhouse, but we’ll always respect your space and you're quiet.
When you’re ready to trade noise for stillness, we’ll be right here, warm house, open skies, and Wagyu ready for you to grill.
We’d love to host you here, located just outside Lynden, Washington, our farm stay experience offers peaceful accommodations and award-winning beef direct from the source.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Oostema
Hi, I am Lisa, your Host,
We are a working farm and have been welcoming guests since 2016. We offer a two-bedroom self-contained apartment and a one-bedroom Little FarmhouseFarmhouse. Choose your place to stay that fits your needs. Both accommodations have beautiful views of the panoramic farm fields surrounding the property. We encourage our guests to walk around and take full advantage of the peaceful surroundings. Whichever you choose, you'll enjoy a tranquil stay. The apartment features two bedrooms and two bathrooms—a King size bed in the master bedroom and a queen in the second bedroom. Our Little Farmhouse has a queen bed and a hideaway bed. All bedding has extremely comfortable fine linens.
Stay with us for an experience unlike anything you've had before. We do have the best sunsets, and you can see the horizon for miles. Unlike staying in the city.
We have a few cows and acres of Raspberry Fields. The reason we love Hosting is because of the interesting people we meet from all over the country and world.
When you travel through Western Washington, don't "stay" in the city, you can stay in the city anytime. You will love the freedom you feel when you get out of the town, even a little way. We invite you to join us at the farm and enjoy the quiet life of stress-free living where your neighbors are nowhere around and the sirens don't sound at night. Welcome to the farm.
