About this property

Adirondack Style Lodge - Minutes from Keuka Lake, Wineries.

Our cabins are located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, in Yates County NY. The areas shop and restaurant owners are aware of Covid requirements while still providing a positive and safe experience for the vacationer. We have increased our cabin disinfection procedures and hope you’ll consider joining us to experience the beautiful scenery of this picturesque area for yourselves.

Now on to our cabin .

Newly renovated Adirondack style cabin nestled in the heart of the finger lakes. Situated on a lot with pines, woods and fields and a mile walking path right out the back door. Enjoy your coffee in the morning with deer, turkeys and a number of other wildlife species right off of the spacious covered porch.

The cabin has a queen size bed upstairs in the loft and a pull out futon suitable for one adult or two children downstairs, as well as a separate trundle bed with two twin size beds available. Please review photos of the living room, trundle and futon while its in the down sleeping position so you are familiar with all the sleeping arrangements. Also, please review the photos of the spiral staircase. Guests with limited mobility may find it harder to access the upstairs loft.

We went all in when renovating the bathroom including it’s beautiful shower. The living room has a cozy fireplace (electric) with large screen TV with local stations (also radio). There is no WiFi, cable or internet here but we may add it in the future. You don’t come to the beautiful countryside to stay in this off the path gem to watch TV and search the web. There’s just too much to do, be it hiking, fishing, wineries, antique shopping, you name it. Most cell phones will work at the cabin, depending on your provider and the weather but if you need a signal, one typically can get it on the road or a short distance down it.

The cabins’ driveway can comfortably hold two cars, three or four if you don’t mind backing out of the driveway. We have a grill for cooking steaks on the porch after a hard day enjoying the finger lakes or guest can cook inside with a fully functional kitchen with stove, refrigerator and microwave.

Branchport and Keuka Lake State Park is a 10 minute drive, as is Prattsburgh. Naples is 15 minutes away and Penn Yan about 20. All three have Dollar and general stores for buying groceries. Penn Yan is the biggest town, with a cinema and more choices than the other area towns. However, one can’t beat Joseph’s fruit stand in Naples for freshly cooked pies, cakes, and bread as well as awesome fruits and veggies, as well as Lynnie Lou’s ice cream but Penn Yan has buckwheat pan cakes, Indian Pines Farm market and two ice cream stores, Seneca Farms and Macs Dairy bar! Oh the choices!

Please check out our other cabins, "The Green, Green Grass of Home", Vrbo I.D. no. 9457683 and "Home on the Range" Vrbo ID no. 2943266. Both cabins are also newly renovated and can hold up to 6 guests.

My grandparents came to the US in 1903 & 1908 through the port of Baltimore from Poland. After living in Illinois, and Alabama, they moved to NY and purchased the original family farm in November of 1934. My father grew up there but over the years, his family struggled to pay the high property taxes that NY is known for. In order to continue to retain the farm, his family would split off a small portion of it, build a cabin and sell it to keep the remainder of the farm going.

I grew up down the road on my parents farm which they purchased after being married in1950. Six children were raised on this farm and my brother still lives there to this day.

I didn't want the life of a farmer. I love farming but I saw the long days my parents worked to support a family of 8 with little if any time off. I wanted to travel and see the US and the world. So, I headed off to college and went to school full time and worked a full time night job to pay my tuition. On weekends, I had a 2nd job and working both allowed me to graduate debt free. I took a position as an engineer who worked on CAT Scans/MRI's until a work accident left me permanently partially disabled in1992. I was out of work 18 months and told I'd never work again but coming from tough stock, that wasn't an option for me. So I joined my sisters' start up company in Rochester and was employee number 5. We took the company all the way to being a Rochester NY Top 100 company and it grew to over 120 employees before being sold to a public company in 2012.

That's the year (2012) my wife and I started our own company in Rochester with my sister Nancy. We began with 12 employees and have 28 now. While getting closer to retirement and not trusting the stock market, we decided to invest in the area I grew up in. The first thing we did was purchase the cabins (that my family built) which were part of the original family farm and began renovating them so you can also enjoy the history & beauty of this area.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is very private and secluded. Everything is new so you can just enjoy your stay without any hiccups or problems. This is the first of five cabins we are renovating and the location is perfect for a couples weekend get away or a week or two family vacation.

My wife and I come from blue collar families. Her Dad was a contractor and mine farmers. We love this area and its rich scenic and rural culture and didn't want to see the countryside be bought up for developments. We were willing to take a chance by investing our savings in restoring these wonderful rural cabins and cottages I grew up around.

We are 3rd generation owners of our families property and we hope to pass it down to our children so they can be 4th generation stewards of the land. We now have five grandchildren, so who knows, we hope it can be passed on to the 5th generation when they are old enough.

What makes this property unique

Tin roof is wonderful to listen to when its raining and the complete pine interior, with bamboo hard wood flooring and tile bathroom and shower give a very comfortable and homey feel. Sit in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine or beer and talk over the days events before cooking a nice dinner on the outside grill before retiring in the loft for a restful nights sleep.

Our cabins are in the middle of the Finger Lakes with so many activities only minutes away. Why stay in a hotel when you can have your own cabin for basically the same price.
