Great place to stay!

My husband and I used this quiet and out-of-the-way property as our home base while in the area for a wedding and some sight-seeing. Our hosts Sal and Buzz were friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. The animals were neat to see, and we enjoyed our stay very much. We won't hesitate to recommend this property to others.

Amazing, relaxing stay!

The Summer Kitchen exceeded all expectations. It was cute, quiet and outfitted with everything I needed. The hosts were onsite and wonderful. They were friendly, had great recommendations of things to do in the area and even left fresh-baked cookies on the table for my arrival. Looking forward to coming back!

Tiny house is perfect size!

I was in town to visit my kids, and this property was perfect for me. It’s just the right size for one or two people, and the setting is amazing. It’s close to the amenities of Washington IL yet it feels like it’s fully in the country once you arrive. It is truly a time capsule in the middle of town! Wonderful owners and fantastic views. I will visit again!

Absolutely perfect

The reviews don't lie—this place is amazing! Private and secluded yet close to so many amenities in Washington, IL, this tiny house filled a big need when a different rental reservation we had fell through. The grounds make up for what it lacks in indoor space in spades—and the owners are incredible hosts. I would definitely come back.

Great getaway

My wife and I really enjoyed the little house. The property was very peaceful. We sat on the patio with our coffee and listened to wildlife. We took a stroll around the property and petted the horses. Buzz and Sal greeted us when we arrived. We chatted with them for a while the following evening...very pleasant conversation. Great hosts.

Such a gift at the "End of the Lane"

Thanks for sharing your hidden gem! We had the most relaxing time at the "end of the lane", hikes, creeks, zinnias deer sitings, the sound of cricket, cicadas and howling coyotes. The tiny house had all the extras you need and special treats as well. We will be back! Loved the town of Washington, IL-- cute shops and great variety of eateries.

High expectations exceeded!

I am relatively local and was seeking a work break and a change of scenery. This wonderful property delivered well beyond my already high expectations. Very tranquil setting and charming accommodation with friendly, yet unobtrusive hosts. The farm animals were a delightful bonus, especially the entertaining gang of roaming ducks that kept me company while I read on the porch. I am glad I’m only 30 minutes away as I plan to return for some more much-appreciated calm and beauty regularly. Sal and Buzz, thank you for sharing the magic of your slice of paradise. I enjoyed all the best parts of farm life without having to put in any of the hard work you so obviously do!

Adorable!

We had a fantastic weekend! We were greeted by the owners the first afternoon and enjoyed hearing of the history of the property. As soon as we entered the tiny house, I was in love with it! The owners have done a fantastic job decorating, keeping the Midwestern farm charm and while still having modern amenities - like Wifi! I loved that the horses were directly adjacent to the tiny house, I enjoyed watching them with morning coffee. I do admit that I felt a little bad for the mini horses and cows at night - I worried about them being outdoors. LOL! We walked the grounds and the calf was so cute! We also went downtown Washington which was absolutely adorable! The antique store had some really great pieces at really great prices. And the Karmelcorn store was delicious. East Peoria was just about 15 minutes away, making this the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, while still being close enough to dining and entertainment. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for allowing us to visit!

Weekend getaway

We had a great time. The property was awesome for us. We liked seeing the welcome sign with our family name. Homemade cookies left for us was a nice touch. Feeding the mini pony, Bucky, and horse, Alphabet, was a high point for animal lovers. The property was private and secluded with a lot of walking areas.

It was amazing to stay in the Tiny House. S'mores and cookies from the host made it even better. In addition to being very relaxing, it was incredible to watch the animals grazing in the pasture.

Relaxing time in the country

At the edge of town but quiet and private. Very close to owners' house but they were not intrusive at all. Sixty acres to wander around. Owners gave recommendations on local shopping and points of interest.

Great Hosts

Loved the tiny house and property, but the hosts were what made it outstanding. They were so friendly, told us all about the property (which is gorgeous) and stopped to chat whenever we were outside. I rated the cleanliness 3/5 only because the tiny house is an old piece of history so expect some brick dust here and there!

Friendly owners and awesome trails

This tiny house was a perfect getaway. The owners were incredibly friendly. The house is closer to the main house than I expected but that was not an issue. The owners included a snack basket (with homemade cookies!) and some drinks; that was really cool. The land has some farm animals that were fun to see. My favorite aspect of the land was the trails. We spent three hours hiking around the property. One thing I thought was odd was to rent this place I had to include a note telling about myself then wait to accepted. I have not done a lot of VRBO so maybe this is common. Overall I enjoyed my stay very much and plan on returning.
