A waystop on the Lincoln Highway, the Lincoln House at Gettysburg welcomes you to stay a few nights or a few weeks and enjoy all this area has to offer. This Three Bedroom, two bath private house with three parking spaces directly behind the home.

Visit the Train Station Lincoln came into, the Wills House, where he stayed (and is now a museum), retrace his steps from the Wills House to the National Cemetery he dedicated and remember you are on the Lincoln Highway, one stop along the first National Highway that goes from Times Square in New York City to Lincoln Park in San Francisco, California.

Full bath with tub is upstairs, while there is a nice glass shower in the full bath downstairs, so more room to get ready!

Great location for Gettysburg Battlefield. A little noisy on Main Street so bring a sound machine for sleeping.

Hi C.B.! Yes! We are super close to the battlefield and a pleasant walk to Lincoln Square in the borough of Gettysburg. However, we are on a main street, so the front bedroom is a bit noisy at times, although we do have a TV, clock radio and a box fan in that room to help with white noise, as well as earplugs in the closet in the downstairs hallway. Interestingly, we're directly on Lincoln Hwy, the first cross country road in America that goes from Broadway in NYC to San Francisco! Although it's a tiny, two lane road in front of our house, it is part of Route 30 and a main thoroughfare, so some may be more sensitive than others. The other two bedrooms, in the middle and back of the house are quieter, although we still do have the box fans and radios in those rooms in case people would like to use them. I hope you still enjoyed your stay and if you have any suggestions on how we can improve the property, please let me know. No luck on moving the road or the house as of yet! :) Take care, c. House was very clean, easy check in, a nice walking distance to downtown and the driving distance to museums was not bad at all. I would definitely stay here again. The only negative thing for us were the blinds need replaced due to multiple tears in the bedroom in the front of the house with 4 windows. It let's in alot of light and with the traffic noise and the light coming through it was a little issue with sleeping. Also, it was mentioned about 3 box fans but we only found 2.

Very clean and comfortable home. Host communicated very well and there were no issues checking in. The description did say we would be 5 minutes walking distance to the battlefield but this is not accurate. It's about an 8 minute drive. My husband and I were hoping to walk there in the evening to get night pictures but we had to drive. Which wasn't horrible, I just liked the idea of being closer. Other than that, what a great experience!!

Why they chose this property

Why this property? Well, first off, it's walking distance to our candy shop. Nuff said! Oh, also, it's roomy and comfortable, with three bedrooms and it's right on the trolley line to take you all the way to the Visitors Center without using your car or you can easily use your car (since we have two parking spaces for you) to travel around the Battlefield or Adams County.

You will be right across the street from an awesome Bike Shop that offers rentals and around the corner from the battlefield (to take your own bike, borrow one, walk or drive).

What makes this property unique

We love the in town convenience of this property. So close to everything. Nice to walk to dinner since there is Italian, Chinese and Pizza just a few steps from the front door and more choices just down the street. It's great to have a place to park in the boro and just enjoy and relax.
