This quiet retreat will rejuvenate your spirit. A previous single garage, this artist-created studio, complete with full kitchen (dishwasher, full size refrigerator), tiled shower, and queen-size bed.
This 244-square-foot studio has a wistful bamboo-sheltered backyard enclosed with a wooden fence, creating a privacy screen from neighbors and a peaceful environment to relax. The studio interior is very artsy-eclectic-boho, with lots of colors and objects. Bathroom, full kitchen with many utensils and tools, dishwasher, ROKU TV, queen bed.
One-nighters available. Book no more than 3 days in advance.
No pets; no visiting pets. no children.
Roku is our form of TV—WiFi streaming with many channels available.

I was very comfortable and enjoyed the cottage so much. It was convenient to town and all the restaurants. A drive of five minutes is nothing and if you choose to walk, it’s enjoyable. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay. A lovely little artsy place to get away.

Quaint, Quiet and Quintessential

Perfect little studio for one and maybe two if you get along with each other! The small amenities like good coffee and oatmeal were a nice treat. So close to town which is walkable or a few minutes by car. The cemetery across the street is very cool and not creepy at all!

Easy, peaceful, and quiet.

I stayed at the property for a few weeks. The check in process was simple and easy. The place was very clean and orderly. The kitchen had all the necessities such as utensils, pots, pans and plates, along with some additional items like a rice cooker, blender, and salt and pepper that made it so much easier to make meals. The landlord was very friendly, helpful, and informative. The area was nice and quiet with good scenery of the forest. I'd highly recommend this place, and I would definitely come back when I visit the area again.

The Art Garage

First, we enjoyed staying here for three nights, but it isn't a typical VRBO. It's more like a very nicely-appointed hotel room with a full kitchen and backyard. Our stay was in July and we tried to spend as much time in the backyard as anyone possibly can when the high temp for the day is 105. It is full of birds and hummingbirds, a few mosquitos, but not enough to need repellant. The garage is just a 10 to 15 minute walk to Nevada City's historic district and an uphill climb to get back. Good exercise. Overall, for the price and location, I highly recommend this property.

Great Little Cottage

Cozy little cottage. Great communications with host during booking, and provided clear instructions about everything. Very quiet and restful, and had a great little outdoor area to relax in. Didn't use the kitchen area but seemed well equipped.

Cozy studio

The studio has everything you need for a comfortable stay for 1 or 2 people: full kitchen, spacious bathroom, sitting area with 2 chairs, and dining counter with 2 bar stools. There is a private garden space directly outside the french doors that serve as the entrance to the unit. The access to the studio is through a side gate with a gravel walkway and some steps, so for those with mobility issues it might not be a great fit. 5 minutes' drive into Nevada City, but in a quiet location. Although there are motion-activated lights, it's helpful to have a flashlight when coming and going after dark. I'd be happy to stay again when in the area - it's a charming and cozy studio.

Enchanting and Peaceful

Connie's Art Studio was a wonderful stay ~ perfect nights sleep, close to wonderful restaurants and shopping, and all the amenities a person needs. The Art Cottage is small but cozy and was perfect for our stay. We didn't cook but the kitchen was well appointed. We would stay again if our travels lead us back to Nevada City.

Lovely studio stay

The Art Studio, aptly named, is a funky comfortable spot for anyone looking to spend some time in beautiful Nevada City. The location is close to town, but not so close that cars or bustle of any kind will obscure your serenity. It has everything you need, including an adorable little backyard, perfect for reading. Connie is a generous, available host, and I highly recommend a stay here.

Very cute cottage, just like the pictures, perfect for 2 people and served our needs nicely. Only cons, the bed, you sink into the middle and the pillows were flat and hard. The yard could be cleaned up a bit too, overgrown. But I have a very high rating because otherwise perfect place to stay!!

Birthday trip

My husband was working in Grass Valley, so for my birthday I went along with him for the week. It was very relaxing and quiet. We really enjoyed ourselves. My only suggestion would be to add some mixing bowls to the kitchen. There weren't any so it made it a little difficult when I was cooking. Otherwise a really nice place to stay if you want quiet.
