2 Bd/2 Bth + Bunk Room-Las Palomas, a Beachfront Property

Welcome to the Monster Fish Condo at Las Palomas Resort, Rocky Point's premier beach and golf destination, and its only AAA 4-Diamond Resort! As far as the quality and diversity of amenities, there is no better place in RP to spend your beach and golf vacation.

Our condo features 2 "regular" bedrooms, plus a bonus "bunk room" with full over full bunk beds. This very popular condo configuration gives you 3 sleeping areas for the price of 2 (NO ONE HAS TO SLEEP ON THE SLEEPER SOFA!). With one king bed, 1 queen bed, full over full bunk beds, and a sleeper sofa we have bed space for 10, but the maximum occupancy per Las Palomas is 7** (please see the important note on the 7th occupant below).

The unit is fully stocked with everything you would expect to find in a vacation rental, and Las Palomas operates the rental management, so daily housekeeping is provided, along with room service and pool/beach towel service.

We have free Wi-Fi, an electronic wall safe large enough for a laptop, and state of the art thermostats. There are flat-screen TVs & cable in every room. The master, guest bedroom and family room all have Smart TVs with a dedicated Netflix account logged in. The laundry/utility room features a full-size washer/dryer combo and also a utility sink (VERY helpful at the beach). Our location within the resort and fact that we are SE facing rarely allows direct sunlight straight through the patio windows, so you aren't blinded at sunrise or sunset.

Families will appreciate the kid-friendliness of our condo and Las Palomas. We have sturdy, foldable step stools in each bathroom to make washing hands and brushing teeth easier for the little ones, and there is a pack & play in the master closet for your use. Las Palomas offers many kid-focused activities. Our condo is located in Phase I of the resort, which is where the only water slide is located. Believe me, the kids never want to leave it!

We have spent much effort trying to make our condo as appealing as possible, and as such we have a few things that are fairly unique for the resort, including:

*Full over full bunk beds in the 3rd bedroom/bunk room with wall-mounted TV.

*50" wall-mounted TV on our large (>400 sq. ft) balcony (Nothing like cuddling up on the patio for a late-night movie accompanied by the ocean breeze & smell of the sea. Look around the resort. There are only a couple units with patio TVs).

*Easy to access USB charging stations in all bedrooms & the living room. No climbing under the bed looking for an open outlet to charge your electronic devices.

*Electronic wall safe inside the master closet large enough for a laptop.

As far as amenities, this is where Las Palomas REALLY shines! Amenities at our ocean-front resort include: 12 pools (2 negative-edge pools), 2 lazy rivers, 2 jacuzzis, 2 swim-up bars, a water slide, splash areas for kids, beach palapas, a hammock rest area, multiple common area barbecues, 2 onsite restaurants, spa, and gym. When the weather allows, beach volleyball is hosted by the resort daily, and the weekends nearly always include some type of live music and barbecue by the pools. Las Palomas is the only resort on Sandy Beach to have a golf course, and guests receive discounts.

Beautiful Property with a Great View

We had a nice time in this beautiful property. Very clean, the A/C worked great and the Wifi was very good. Right on the beach and the amenities were great. The swim up bar and pool time aerobics class was a lot of fun.

This condo was so amazing! Even better than the pictures. Awesome ocean view, three bedrooms, tvs, nice fridge and perfectly located right outside the elevator. I loved this condo so much. We were also able to get a 7th person to stay in the room with just an extra $30 a day. I would defintely come back again.

Fun on the Beach in December

This condo was the perfect set up for what we needed, having the extra bunk room was ideal. We loved the location of the room, straight across to the elevator, walking right by our car in the garage on the way to the beach meant beach supplies could be kept in the car rather than hauled back and forth to the room. The view of the sunrises and sunsets from the balcony was amazing! The main pool was heated very comfortably for December and we really enjoyed the hot tub. We also appreciated that Dan was very responsive and helpful, before and during our stay. We had a great time.

Beware when you book this condo!

We arrived at the lobby and they couldn’t find our reservation. They tried calling the owner with no answer and I did as well. Thank goodness the front desk located an available room for my family and I or we would’ve drove 4 1/2 hrs to have to drive right back. The owner still never called me back but once I called VRBO they were trying to contact them as well I received part of my refund. I then messaged the owner and stating I will not take a partial refund for something that was there fault. They finally gave me all my money back. I would definitely not recommend or book this place.

This was a legitimate and unfortunate situation involving very bad timing. We were in the air on an international flight during the mix-up and were unable to respond in time to handle the situation. It was definitely an unusual occurrence and not typical of how things normally go. We apologized to the renter and authorized their refund. Fortunately the resort was able to help them find another condo.

We have stayed at this resort numerous times and never had any problems with cleanliness until now! The condo was disgusting!!! I literally kept my flip flops on while I took a shower. There was hair, food, wrappers, and toothpicks all over the floor. We had to ask for them to change the bed sheets twice because there was hair all in the bed. The condo is in need of some updating and TLC. The walls had a layer of dirt and other stuff that I don’t even wanna know what it was. The beds were like sleeping on a pile of bricks! I literally didn’t sleep the whole time we were there. If you want to be comfortable don’t stay at this one. I have never given a bad review, but this one definitely needs it.

Due to the extreme variation from our typical review, I felt I should respond. I'm sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. A few thoughts.. The first few complaints were housekeeping issues, which as the owner we can do little about & don't relate to the condo directly, but rather to the housekeeping that was done during your stay. If I were staying somewhere that hadn't been cleaned properly, I would call customer service and have it cleaned again. Hopefully this would solve the problem. I know this is your only forum for giving a review, but this is not really a flaw in the condo, but in the service you received at that particular time. Resort management has been notified though. A few of the other issues did relate directly to the condo itself. As far as dirt/etc layered on the walls, the curious thing is that we personally stayed at the condo right before your stay (we literally checked out the same day you checked in), and when we left the condo was in it's usual shape. Granted, it's a rental unit, and does see quite a bit of traffic, but the entire condo was painted less than 2 years ago. I'm not sure painting more often than this is typical. As far as the beds, I don't know if you attempted to sleep in all the beds, or if the complaint is related to one bed in particular, but I will make it a point to try to evaluate each bed individually to see if we can improve in this area. At the end of the day, I would say that while I definitely don't discount your experience as invalid, it certainly seems to be a deviation from the norm. We have 22 reviews, all unsolicited, and 21 of them are 5 stars. Then there is the lone non 5-star review, and it's a 2. Not a 4, or even a 3, but a 2. Unusual. I guess everyone has a different experience/opinion. I am including below the text from an e-mail from a guest who checked out exactly 7 days before you checked in just to highlight this point: "Hi there, Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo. My daughter and friends (as well as myself) had a tremendous time. Your condo was perfect. Well appointed. Spacious. Comfortable. And very very beautiful. What a gem I found. The bunk bed room-huge score!! I definitely plan on returning (not during spring break lol). This time with my oldest daughter and her son. I will look to stay at yours first! Thank you again for renting your place and providing an affordable rate. Best of luck to you. Jerry E." Definitely a different experience.

Please Refurbish Before Renting.

Old pictures on VRBO of outdoor space. TV does not work due to very dangerous outlet and chairs are so old they fell apart. Couldn’t watch NFL while there and that was why we picked this place. Oh yeah. Still no hot water in guest shower and tub doesn’t work due to old hardware. Time for a refurb. Texted owner who got back right away to say call customer service downstairs. So many problems with this unit that has nothing to due with calling 0 on the condo phone.

The location of the resort is right in the beach so very convenient. The unit we stayed in was clean when we arrived, but the cleaning service did basically nothing during our stay. The air conditioner fan was extremely loud night and day without interruption … a nightmare for light sleepers! We had a couple of issues with clogged toilet, which was repaired but the maintenance service, and hot water and water which was never addressed, even after calling the front desk a couple of times. So we ended up using only one shower instead of two. Check in and out was fast and easy. Puerto Peñasco itself looks like an underdeveloped poor small town. It has a lot of potential, but no one cares to make it better. Such a shame.

The property was clean and well decorated. Short walk to the pool and beach. Kids were a little disappointed there was not a Playstation as advertised, but we didn’t travel all this way for them to sit in there room playing on a Playstation 😁. I would recommend this Condo and resort. Loved the pool and beach!

Stayed at Las Palomas dozens of times, this is a nicely decorated Unit with quality furnishings. Really is a three bedroom, with one room that has two larger bunk beds, in addition to the other two bedrooms. Highly recommend renting this unit!

First vacation to Puerto Penasco

We had a wonderful stay in the condo! All pictures and descriptions are very accurate. Beautiful, clean condo with everything a family needs. We were able to enjoy the patio at all times of day because the location of the condo is out of the direct sun. The kitchen is very well equipped with all we needed for our stay. It is beautifully decorated and the furniture is perfect for children and beach life. There are TVs in every bedroom with Roku that our children loved. Great location to get to the pools and beach with the elevator across the hall. We will definitely be back to RP and will booking here again!

Great view and comfortable

Our stay at this property was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We ended up making breakfast and dinners during our stay and the kitchen was well equipped. Also where this unit is located it’s very convenient if you park in the parking garage getting to and from your vehicle. This made it nice and easy. The view is amazing from the back patio. Would definitely stay here again.

There have been countless memories made in Rocky Point and at Las Palomas, and we are so excited to share our home with you. We hope your time in Rocky Point is as amazing as ours has always been!

Why Las Palomas?
We have stayed many places in Rocky Point, and honestly we have very fond memories at other resorts and locations. However, there is simply no comparison when it comes to the services and amenities offered at Las Palomas vs. everywhere else. There are very few properties where you literally never need to leave the resort if you don't want to (we don't recommend this by the way because Rocky Point has so much to offer outside the resort!). The security at Las Palomas is top notch. You will see guards all over the property, giving you peace of mind. There is plenty of underground parking, so your vehicle need not be exposed to the elements. Within the resort there are two restaurants (one of which handles room service), a small market, spa, fitness center with cardio equipment, strength machines, and free weights, common-area grills, shaded hammocks near the pool in phase 1, and built-in beach palapas. Bottom line, if you stay at Las Palomas you WILL see a difference. We know countless people who simply will not stay anywhere else in Penasco.

Why Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco)?
Rocky Point combines the best of two different worlds. Originally a sleepy fishing village, much of this charm remains. Finding a fishing charter is as easy as asking a local for a recommendation, or if you aren't quite as adventurous just purchase the day's catch directly from the fishermen at the local fish market. But alongside this world has emerged a high-end tourist destination on one of the best beaches you'll find in North America. Paragliding, parasailing, jet skis, banana boats, fishing charters, and 4-wheelers are all right at your fingertips. Fine dining & plenty of amazing nightlife are right around the corner. Massage on the beach? Just steps away. Rocky Point is almost impossible not to fall in love with!

We have done everything we can think of to make our condo the perfect vacation retreat for ourselves, and we think you'll see the difference. As noted in the property description, we offer several unique benefits with our condo (full over full bunk beds in bunk room w/ wall-mounted TV & PS3; 50" wall-mounted TV on the patio; USB chargers). We don't get direct sunshine in through our patio windows at sunrise or sunset (something you don't think about when booking, but a major nuisance. You want all-day ocean views, right? Well, not if you have to have the blinds drawn for major parts of the day). Come stay with us. We're sure you'll love it!
