About this property

Historic Villa-Farm with Vineyards & Olives Trees

Villa Casavecchia, dating back to the 13th century is steeped in history. It is a unique rental home nestling on the farm, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards with magnificent views of the Chianti countryside. Casavecchia is in close proximity to Florence, Siena, Pisa, and many charming historical towns - making it a perfect Tuscan holiday experience.

It has been restored to the beautiful comfortable home it is today, leaving many original features. The walls of Tower over the Master bedroom belong to that time. La Villa is on two floors: the living area on the ground floor, the old wine cellars, now a in-house museum, and olive oil tasting room on the lower floor.

About the host

Host profile image
I was born and raised in Kenya from English/Scottish/Irish parents. I have travelled extensively around the world. I married my husband Nick, who was born in Florence of Italian parents while we were living in South Africa. We have two sons, Filippo and Mikele who were both born in South Africa. Filippo now married with a son live in Dubai while Mikele stays on our farm in Tuscany and has a major part in the running Il Giogo.
We came back to Tuscany 2000 to take over running the farm which has been in Nick's family for over 200 years.

Why they chose this property

This large farm has been in the family since 1700's and is the haven of tranquility and a visual masterpiece, a rolling countryside with vineyards, olive groves, dotted with cypress trees, a natural reserve inhabited by roe deer, wild boar, hare and pheasant.
Very conveniently situated. It is also a national heritage home.

What makes this property unique

The owners live on the farm and both are English and Italian speaking and on request are available to assist and suggest where to go and what to do in the area. We are also eager to help and make your stay memorable :)
