This was the nicest of all the places we stayed on a three-week vacation. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The views, comfort, relaxation, decor--all superb. The photos don't do it justice. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. Hope we can rent it again!

We had a great stay at Debby and John’s house in Prospect Harbour. The house is even better than on the pictures, very well kept and in perfect condition when we arrived. Debby and John were also very helpful and super responsive throughout the stay. The area for us was also great, and less crowded than the rest of Acadia. We can only recommend a stay here and we would love to stay here again ourselves.

Beautiful property, well maintained (the owners live next door). The kitchen was as well stocked with pots, pans and utensils as any we’ve seen. Very quiet with great views out to the ocean. The Schoodic portion of Acadia National Park is minutes away, as are Down East lobster dinners. Four nights was not enough time. We would stay here again. Thanks Debby and John!

Magical Maine Memories

We absolutely loved our stay! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves each night was magical. The house was spotless and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need for a group of 6 spanning 3 generations.Acadia National Park was about an hour’s drive away — we loved exploring it, and the drive itself was gorgeous. The Schoodic Peninsula, only 10 minutes away, was just as amazing and a bit more peaceful.We even planned a relaxing day just to soak in the beauty of the house and the incredible views. The hosts were wonderful, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and even surprising us with a thoughtful gift basket.We honestly wish we could move in permanently! Hoping to come back someday — will always remember staying at Serenity by the Sea!

Wonderful accommodations on quiet side of Acadia

Over the last 20 years we have rented numerous VRBO properties throughout the US and Canada. This home is our favorite. The recently built home is located in a beautiful cove on the ocean. The fire pit, wraparound deck and family room provide excellent views of the ocean. The furnishings and decor are first class in every room. All appliances are new and the kitchen is fully equipped including essential foodstuffs. Owners who live next door are very responsive. There are a number of good restaurants nearby as well as an adequate grocery store in Winter Harbor. We would definitely rent this property again.

We loved the beautiful home and it had every amenity and every thing we could need. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit. Fantastic experience

From start to finish, our experience was unbelievable! Communication was exceptional and words cannot describe how beautiful the property is. We loved sitting around the fire pit next to the ocean, lounging and eating our meals on the deck. The house is fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. This place will spoil you!!

This rental could not be more perfect. The host (who lives next door) provides everything you could possibly need for your stay. The immaculate cottage appears to be brand new and is immediately in front of the water. The area is remote for a relaxing vacation and beautiful scenery.

Even better than the pictures!

We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties and have almost always had a great experience, but I have to say that this is the first time that the property dramatically exceeded our expectations. Although the property looks good in the photos, they do not do it justice- experiencing the rise and fall of the tides on a daily basis, and being able to sleep with the windows open and the sound of gentle waves lapping against the shore was just what we needed. The owners were helpful and responsive, and the property was clean and well-maintained.

Beautiful views of Maine!

Such a serine setting, very private with beautiful ocean views. We went with our son and daughter-in-law with no agenda and had the most fabulous vacation! The host was very easy to communicate with and many details were provided in the home. The only drawback is when arriving on a Monday evening nothing is open so I would suggest ordering groceries ahead of time if that service is available. Luckily for us their was a fabulous farmers market open on Tuesday! We definitely would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Prospect Harbor!

Perfection in every way

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property for four nights, but it was so peaceful and serene, we would have gladly stayed four weeks. The hosts have designed and outfitted the house (which is newly built) to be as comfortable as a full time residence. The house is thoughtfully laid out and situated on the property to maximize enjoyment of the coastal setting. You’re just 40 yards from the ocean which means you can enjoy the sounds of the sea whether you’re outside by the fire pit or inside in the cozy living room. We spent two days on Mount Desert Island and two days exploring the Schoodic peninsula. Honestly the Schoodic is so nice, you’re not missing out on anything if you choose to stay near the house to hike or bike. Bring bug repellent and firewood so you can spend the evening outside staring up at the stars!
