It is ideal for people looking for a tranquil location yet being very near the beaches and the historic town of Lagos with its many restaurants, beach bars, the marina, interesting shops and discos.

Perfect family stay

We stayed here for a week with three generations of family and it was a lovely, relaxing holiday. Very family-friendly villa with helpful, friendly hosts. Spacious indoor areas, fantastic large pool, fully equipped kitchen and the big bonus of a washing machine! Location was ideal for us, very close to the algarve’s attractions. Car was essential, as villa is located in a small village. Perfect holiday!

Excellent property

We had a lovely stay at this property. The property itself is spacious, cool and well equipped. The outside area in great with plenty of space and in particular the pool is very large. It is close to Lagos but in a peaceful location at the same time. Really enjoyed our holiday here!

Wonderful family holiday

We had a dreamy week as a family in Oct here at Matina, our first foreign trip since covid and it didn't disappoint. Loads of space, big rooms, tasteful decor and the pool, oh the pool....all 15 metres of it, was a pure delight. The charming owners live next door, but due to the L shape layout with all rooms looking towads the pool it felt very private. Lagos is only a copuple of miles away which means a trip out for dinner is simply a short $5 taxi ride away. Thanks Hilly and Andrew for a lovely holiday in your beautiful house.

De beschrijving op de website moet beter. Het betreft een huis met 4 slaapkamers en 3 badkamers. In eerste instantie zegt de site 4 badk. Daarbij is een slaapkamer met een badk. ensuite alleen bereikbaar door een andere slaapkamer. Zeer onhandig. Huis is daardoor niet geschikt voor 4 stellen.

The best villa we have ever rented in the Algarve

We have been renting villas around Lagos every summer since 15 years now and this one has by far beaten our quality/price expectations. It's actually a renovated Portuguese farm but although big, it has loads of charm. It's very calm and peaceful, if you hate having other villas overlooking your pool and terrace then this is the place for you. Basically a small paradise. The pool is simply huge and the terrace and gardens well kept and beautiful. The house was impeccably clean and was well equipped with everything you need and very comfortable beds. Our only complaint is that there were no beach towels! Good wifi connection, so the kids were happy. We will definitely be renting this villa again next year! Sad to leave

Beautiful, spacious house

We have stayed at many holiday rentals over the years and can honestly say that this is the best. Spacious, cool, comfortable with a lovely interior and spacious exterior with a large pool. Even on the hottest days the interior remains deliciously cool. The bedrooms are comfortable and elegant and the kitchen and living rooms are extremely generous and well kitted-out. The owners live next door but you'd never know it as the house feels secluded and private. When we had a very minor problem with the water the owners fixed it almost before we'd noticed. All in all, my whole family loved just hanging out indoors or around the pool and we sincerely hope to return in the near future. We also had many happy excursions to Lagos and beyond. A gem of a house with a lovely atmosphere.

Perfect Spot

The house is an "L" shape around a lovely pool where there is plenty of shade from the midday sun. It is well furnished and comfortable. We stayed with our children (aged 18 and 20) and their friends who, because of the close proximity of Lagos itself, where able to go into town in the evening with only a short (and cheap) taxi ride home. The owners live next door. They keep themselves to themselves but are on hand if you need anything. We would highly recommend it.
