This is the perfect location to see Rome. We were within walking distance to most attractions (the colosseum being the farthest away). We were close to great restaurants just feet from the apartment. There are bus stops just a street over on Cicerone and a great Tabacchi there as well with wonderful coffee and pastries to start your day.
Giovanni was excellent! He met us at the apartment and went over everything with us. He was so warm and friendly. We genuinely appreciated his hospitality.
Definitely a place we will return to!
High End Apartment with one drawback
The good: great location, near the Vatican and some of the great sites of Rome. Very spacious. elegant, and comfortable.
The bad: I ran out of hot water in the shower a couple of times. Most VBRO apartments supply coffee, tea, and breakfast food. Casa Visconti does not.
Dear Steven, we are very sorry for your review. You could have told us about any discomfort before, we would have surely solved the problem.
Anyway, we wish to inform you that it is forbidden to supply food and drink by VRBO apartments in Italy, as per regular regional authorization. Regarding the hot water in the shower : Casa Visconti has a new boiler. No one has never complained about problems of lack of hot water. Simply read all the reviews before yours.
Sincerely, Casa Visconti
Wonderful Flat! Great location! Better than expected !
We absolutely were spoiled in this spacious flat in up and coming Prati. The location was perfect with access to the Metro and the bus just a short walk from the front door. Quaint local neighborhood which we loved bc you feel like you get to “live as the romans do”. Authentic restaurants and friendly locals who try to accommodate our bad Italian vocabulary.
Giovanni met us at the door and explained to us the features of the apartment and local places to see. Kitchen was just great though we o my used glasses for wine but you could cook if you wanted to.
If you’re looking for a VRBO in Rome.... look no further. I’m a bit of a hotel snob and this was first VRBO and it set the bar high!
Giovanni even arranged for a car to pick us up to take us to the airport for our flight to Paris.... at 3:30 am. He was always responsive to email and texts. Absolutely wonderful.
I suggest taking the Roman food tour of Prati as well (trionfale) it was by far the most delicious food experience we had in Rome.
Wonderful flat, location, and host
This centrally located and beautifully furnished flat provided a wonderful launch point for our all-too-short stay in Rome. Giovanni was gracious, punctual, and oriented us to his apartment and the neighborhood. The apartment had everything we needed--a tricky shower curtain is the only thing that could be improved. We will definitely reach out to Giovanni on our next trip to Rome.
Spacious, well-equipped apartment, in great place.
Giovanni was a very nice host. He met us when we arrived and took us through the whole apartment, as well as providing us with tips for local shopping and eating spots. The apartment was much larger than we expected. It was a nice change from most of the other accommodations we had during our 3-week vacation in Europe. It is very well-maintained and has many amenities, including a clothes washer, which was much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.
Very clean and modern, well equipped kitchen, dining and living area, great location
We had a wonderful time in Rome. The apartment was well-maintained and clean and modern and safe. There are plenty of restaurants around to choose from and the Vatican was within walking distance. Metro line was easily accessible and there were two groceries right around the corner. It was a little longer walk to get to the Colosseum and the forum which we did do and then took the metro back. But if someone didn’t want to walk it, they could take the metro both ways as it was very easy to do. The pantheon is very close just across the river and quite a few outdoor cafés there in that area as well which we did on our last day.
Very strategic location: in downtown Rome, in the heart of Prati neighborhood, few steps from Piazza Navona, St. Peter’s and the Vatican, and from Spanish Steps, in the heart of the roman shopping district (Via Cola di Rienzo, Via Condotti).
From here you can easily reach the monuments and the places most striking of the City:
Castel Sant’Angelo (600 mt), Piazza del Popolo (900 mt), Ara Pacis Augustae (1000 mt), Piazza Navona (1100 mt), St. Peter’s / Vatican Museums / Sistine Chapel (1250 mt), Spanish Steps / Pantheon (1400 mt), Campo De’ Fiori (1600 mt), the Trevi Fountain (1800 mt), Colosseum (3200 mt).
Perfectly served by public transportation: many bus stops under the house (Piazza Cavour) and the Metro stop “Lepanto” in less than 5 minutes.
Also very convenient the shuttle bus stop (SitBusShuttle), direct connection to the Airports of Fiumicino and Ciampino and with Termini railroad Station, stop in Via Crescenzio 2 (300 mt).
Parking facilities in the area, with a guarded paid parking garage right on Via Visconti (under the apartment), in addition to the municipal public areas.
The Prati neighborhood, a lively and high class shopping district during the day, it displays exclusive attractions in the evening, with the opening of Wine Bars and Pub, excellent Pizzerias and Restaurants. The area offers also a wide selection of cultural events, music, theatre, cinema, but also a variety of places for the younger generations.
