Clean, well equipped kitchen. Easy to find the apartment, directions were very simple. Stairs were no problem, well lit and wide enough when carrying luggage. Lovely to sit on the window seats and people warch on the Royal Mile! As other reviews have stated, the WiFi doesn’t reach the back bedroom (king bed). Also, we ended up having to work some each day and the overall WiFi speed was less than 5 mbps up / 1 mbps down so when two of us tried to work and have teams calls at the same time, we had some issues, and video calls were definitely out. Would definitely stay here again if we didn’t need to work!
Location was great. We were not able to pull up to the loft to unload because it’s on a pedestrian-only section of the street so it’s blocked off. Master bed is hard as a 2x4. But otherwise was a super pleasant stay. Kitchen was well equipped. The window seats were my favorite to sit in each night and watch people below.
We loved this place! It was so fun to look out our window and watch the buskers and hear the Tattoo. It was great to walk downstairs and see the mile in the AM and PM when most of the tourists had left. That said, it was crowded and loud right outside during the day. We had windows open because of the summer heat and the noise at night wasn't bad or constant, but did wake us up occasionally. Space was great, host was great, location was perfect if you want to be right in the mix of central Edinburgh!
The apartment and location were great. The information on the apartment should include that it is on the second floor and no elevator. Also should have been advised about construction on the street.
Right on the Royal Mile! About a block away from Edinburgh Castle, made our walking easy even in the rain. Lots of touristy shopping right out the door. Fun bar on the corner with live music on Monday night.Would stay here again.
Great location to explore old town. Beds were comfy and rooms were a good size.
Bathroom is a little narrow but fine for a few days.
It right on the mile and a great place to explore Edinburgh.
Property owner was great to deal with .
Perfect location right on the Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh. The view out the window was incredible! Our apartment was so comfortable and clean, and Derek was very easy to communicate with. The little hamper upon arrival made us feel so welcome too. Loved it!
We absolutely loved the flat, and the location was absolutely perfect. The views from the windows were incredible in such an iconic part of the city. The flat is much bigger than we anticipated and had everything we needed for our stay, including nice touches like Scottish fudge and shortbread, and we were really impressed with the value for money especially given the location. Would definitely recommend staying here!
What a beautiful apartment and location!
Comfortable, clean, well appointed.
Derek was easy to work with and answered my many questions about visiting Edinburgh.
Highly recommend!
We loved the location of this property and really enjoyed the flat. Two bedrooms was perfect for us too. Communication with the owners was fast and easy, very friendly and accommodating.
Was occasionally a bit loud at night being on a main/busy street but that’s the trade off for easy access to everything.
I really liked the apartment because it had everything we needed, great view, close to everything and Derek was very helpful!
I would like to go back and stay at this apartment!
Well maintained property with a cool location right on the royal mile next to the castle. Everything was very comfortable. Remember that it will be loud outside the apartment because you’re right in the heart of a major crowded tourist area. But we loved this place
The flat was well placed on the Royal Mile. Flat was a great efficiency with a kitchen and washing machine. It was clean and in good order.
When our trip on the Royal Scotsman train was cancelled because of the collision, Mr. Gibb was very helpful in finding us lodging for four nights.
We could not have asked for a better property in Edinburgh!
The flat was clean, tidy, bright and incredibly welcoming! The location is ideal for exploring the city. Overlooking the Royal Mile, steps away from the castle, gardens, restaurants, the train station and shopping.
Explore the city on foot… no need for a vehicle. Kids spent lots of time watching the Mile from the multiple window benches, watching buskers, and tours.
Our hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to visitors!
Thanks again for a fabulous stay!
Went up with three friends to watch the six nations. The property was lovely and as described and had all the amenities you need. Instructions for check in/out were very clear and easy to follow. All in all made our weekend fantastic due to its incredibly convenient location. I myself was late in asking for an hour late checkout and was accommodated for very kindly by Derek. Will be looking for this flats availability next year - thanks for a great stay!
The accommodations were perfectly located for our needs.Everything was comfortable but unfortunately my husband had sciatica and back pain. So I did three days of touring alone. Beautiful city. The only suggestion I would make is that there was no bath or shower body cleanser. Everything else made a comfortable stay.
A very comfortable apartment for our family of 6 - grandparents, parents and two babies. The apartment is towards the castle end of the Royal Mile with ample restaurants, tourist activities, boutiques and shops, and whisky tasting close by. The only issue for sensitive sleepers could be the street noise from below, with late night revellers and tourist buses leaving from directly below the apartment, but we found this worse (or better) on some nights than others.
We would stay again. Jennifer
Location couldn’t be better. Beds were extremely comfortable. Tea and coffee packets were greatly appreciated. Also helpful to have operating manuals available for all household equipment. Small hiccup with checking in communication but Derek was helpful when I reached him by phone. Small annoyance with having to buy toilet paper late at night as we were only left with 1 roll for a family of 4. Otherwise all was as hoped and we would highly recommend.
Our family loved our flat while staying in Edinburgh. We all loved sitting at the window bay seats watching everything go by. They had legos and books for the kids and everything you needed in a kitchen. The bedrooms were comfy enough and bathroom was nicely updated. A bit noisy at night but that’s to be expected given the central location. Would highly recommend for any family wanting to be close to all the major tourist attractions while having easy access to all the public transit you need to get elsewhere. Communication with the property management was also great!

What are you looking for?
If you want to be at the heart of it all in Edinburgh at the busiest time and within a short walk to the Military tatoo at the castle then this is your place. You can look down on lawnmarket to performers and thousands of people. Location is a 5 but you’ll also hear the drunks empty the bars at 2AM. Well known bar 2 doors down. Had a problem at check in. I requested a slightly early entry and was informed it was ready. I open code to the key lock and no key! I slightly panicked thinking someone on the street may have gotten the code and was in the appt. At same time a renter or owner entered and I followed him up. I knocked on the appt door and the man cleaning it came to door and said he was done. He gave me a key that was to be in the lock. He also was not really completed as he had not swept the main rug or floor in the main room. The bathroom and bedrooms were clean. I told Derek what had happened and he apologized for the mix up but I was about 20 min early to the check in time so I wrote off the mix up and we enjoyed our stay. Derek was kind and on top of all communication Given the prime time of our visit I felt the cost was higher than I would normally pay. Oh.. one more think. Don’t waste your money at The Witchery just a block away close to castle. Took my wife there for her birthday. Waste of money. Highly overrated and way too pricey. Had to send a filet back and the table service by our waitress was the worst. She went on a half hour break in the
The apartment was very roomy and very clean. Having a window seat in each of the two bedrooms and the living area was great! We could watch all the people and tour buses while having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
The milk, juice, shortbread, fudge and coffee and sugar left for us was very appreciated. The only issue was no usb ports. We forgot that the UK has a different plug than the rest of Europe. I called Derek when we got in after we unpacked and found that out. We were able to go buy a new converter so that our phones and computer would work. The store closed at 6:00 p.m. We had 5 minutes to spare. Bring your UK adaptor. I definitely recommend this apartment. It is 3 stories up, so be prepared to bring up your luggage. Thank you, Derek.

"As a family we have used self catering properties around the world for our own holidays and know how important it is to make sure that when you arrive you are not disappointed with your choice of holiday accommodation. The two main areas of disappointment that we have found are location and standard!
The apartments that we offer are situated in Edinburgh's no 1 historic tourist street being the Royal Mile and Grassmarket areas. Our apartments are maintained and cleaned to a very high standard exactly as we would want to find ourselves when going on holiday.
We look forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh.
