Had a wonderful stay at Waves with my husband and 3 young children. Great location and some really thoughtful and useful touches in the apartment including loads of kids toys! Kitchen was well set up and the terrace is great. Emma was easy to contact and super helpful and quick with responses. We even managed to check in super early as previous guests had left. We enjoyed our stay at 'Waves'

We had a wonderful week at the Waves apartment. The apartment has everything you need - including extras like kid's games which were thoroughly enjoyed by our daughter! Waves is in a great location so close to the magnificent Blackpool Sands and it's easy to get to Dartmouth and beyond. We tried the Radius 7 restaurant (literally across the road) twice and highly recommend it. Emma is a great host, very easy to communicate with. And she left some milk, bread plus a basket of scones+jam+cream for us to enjoy on our arrival - very thoughtful and much appreciated! I've given a 4 star review instead of 5 for one reason only - we found the cleanliness of the apartment wasn't the best. We think a deep professional clean is needed to bring Waves back to its sparkling glory. Having said that - it wasn't enough of an issue to distract from our fantastic holiday and we recommend people stay at Waves!

Fantastic spot for a family break

We enjoyed a lovely week at Waves which is fantastically located to explore South Devon and enjoys spectacular views! The apartment was extremely well equipped, clean and homely and we appreciated the village location. Our toddler also took full advantage of the toys and books which were very generously made available for little guests. We certainly hope to be back soon!

We had a wonderful week at Waves, helped by great beach weather, the whole time we were there. The property is ideally situated and the quality of the accommodation exceeded our expectations in terms of cleanliness, equipment and decor. We'd like to thank Emma for making our stay so enjoyable. Places to visit? - Blackpool Sands is a must and a lovely walk using the old road which starts at the church in the village. Totnes, quirky but great! River boat rip from Dartmouth was a good way to see the town and estuary from a different perspective. Highlight however was the walk around Start Point including the lighthouse - superb views of the bay plus seals on the rocks. Green Dragon pub good value food and drink, however was disappointed with the Queens Arms at Slapton, waited an age for our food and somewhat patronising staff. Great fish and chips at Radius 7 opposite Waves.

The apartment is spacious clean and light and ideally placed for exploring the South Hams. There is a Blue Flag beach within walking distance as well as a good pub, restaurant and local shops. Loved our stay and would highly recommend!

We had a really great stay in Emma's apartment. It was comfortable stay for our family of 4, well equipped and the location is spot on. We loved the fact we could walk to Blackpool Sands and it is conveniently situated close to all the other places we like to visit when in Devon, such as Salcombe and Dartmouth. There is also a nice restaurant right across from the apartment which was very convenient. Emma left us with a welcome pack on arrival, which included bread, butter, milk and a bottle of wine which was a nice touch. We also appreciated the information folder which contained suggestions on places to visit and recommended restaurants. We would definitely recommend Emma's apartment and would look to rebook in the future.

I’ve lived in South Devon for over 20 years, and Stoke Fleming quickly became home. This friendly village has everything you need for a relaxed seaside holiday: a cosy traditional pub, a warm & welcoming Italian restaurant, a well-stocked village shop, and Blackpool Sands beach just a minute’s drive down the hill. The nearby town of Dartmouth offers cafés, boutiques, galleries, and historic pubs, perfect for combining village charm with coastal exploration.

Alongside running Coastal Retreats Devon, I’m a freelance marketer specialising in hospitality, bringing the same care to hosting that I do in my work. I’m a proud mum of an incredible teenage son, and we love family adventures with our Cavapoo, Po, and trips around the South West in our 50-year-old VW camper van, Humphrey.
