Victorian Detached Stone Built ‘Gentleman’s Residence’ sleeps 6-13
This beautifully appointed property is situated on the edge of Ogston Reservoir in Derbyshire and commands breathtaking views over the water from many of the windows. There are spectacular walks right from the door and a short drive will take you to any one of the market towns of Ashbourne, Matlock or Bakewell(famed for its puddings!). What a lovely house for a family get together! Really easy to check in & out and great communication with the host - we would highly recommend and return!
As other ms have said, the photos don’t do the house justice, it is stunning and incredibly well furnished. The location too is beautiful and Julie is an excellent host. We would definitely stay here again
A delightful old house, exceptional presentation, warm and cosy, lots of rooms for family birthday celebrations and fun. A wonderful view of the reservoir on two cold bright mornings and a perfect circular walk for all - about 4+ miles.
Booked the property for a 40th birthday retreat with extended family. Amazing house and area, everyone loved it and some really thoughtful touches from the host, Julie, all added up to an amazing few days. Would love to repeat the experience in the future.
We stayed for a family get together for the weekend and had a lovely break. The house was fully equipped for all our needs in bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. We were lucky to have the sun and made good use of the patios and orangery - the views from the house were glorious over to the Reservoir. Would certainly recommend. Just wished we had longer there. !
We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend away in this beautiful house - there was plenty of room for 12 friends and a toddler, everything was as described, and the views over the reservoir from the conservatory (even on a wet weekend!) were stunning. The owner was reliable and easy to contact, and we're looking forward to heading back with the family soon.

Spot on
We stayed here for a family reunion and loved it.
The property was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were big, beds comfortable, and the views were gorgeous overlooking the reservoir. The garden was a great space for the kids to kick a ball around.
The bathrooms were also large with fab bath tubs for a relaxing soak! Oh and Netflix available.
Would highly recommend. Thank you Julie for a wonderful stay!

Fantastic venue, beautiful views and great conservatory
We had an excellent time celebrating 3 birthdays in 1 weekend with extended family. The kids loved having a secret staircase and the layout of the rooms was perfect; including the den. Plenty of bathrooms and best of all, loads of crockery and glasses for every occasion. Brilliant.

Lovely home for a weekend getaway
Lovely house that provided a great place for 10 old friends to catch up in. The interior is done up to a high standard and the bedrooms are all spacious so no arguments over who got what. Julie was quick to respond and made the booking process easy. Nice countryside views but with easy access to shops nearby.

Stunning place
Oldfield house is a fantastic place to say. Staying as a group of 13 including 2 children, the facilities are exactly what are needed for a large party. From the numerous bathrooms to the comfy beds, the cooking and food preparation facilities are second to none and as we had fantastic weather during our stay we were able to make full use of the BBQ whilst lounging on the terrace. The view over the reservoir was an added bonus. Julie was a very welcoming host and we would hope to visit Oldfield house again for future family trips. I would thoroughly recommend the property.

Beautiful house, excellent value for money
The property was spacious, comfortable and full of character. The bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas were all cosy, nicely decorated and immaculately clean. It has lovely views over the reservoir, is great for walks in rolling countryside but is easily accessible.
