We had the most wonderful stay here in this lovely house! It was the perfect base for our family for exploring the island. It's spacious, cosy and comfortable. The location feels rural and remote but it's very central and there's still a large supermarket on just 10 minutes drive. The owner was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had! Would definitely stay here again.
Perfect location for exploring all of Skye, not too remote, but very peaceful. The cottage is clean, modern, and very sunny (when the sun is out!). Owner was responsive to our needs, I would look forward to renting here again.
Quiet rural setting central on the island location, ideal base to explore Skye. Blackout blinds in upstairs rooms are excellent for children getting good sleep. Host responds quickly to any questions.
This was a beautiful scenic, but central spot. Our whole family had a wonderful time. The accomodation allowed us a little home away from home.It also allowed us to experience a small neighbourhood.
We had a lovely stay at Flora’s cottage, which is really well equipped and especially cosy when the woodburmer is lit
Flora was great to deal with through the booking and the stay
It’s also a great location for exploring Slye
Thoroughly recommended

Thank you for being excellent guests and for leaving the cottage so clean.
Cottages are rented for one week normally and it was good because we were able to see most of the island of skye, which is lovely. Nice walks right near the cottage and you can drive to many other walks. There's a very nice wood-burning stove. You'll have to buy wood once you run out what they give you. We had some problems finding the place but once that was over with, we had a very stress-free lovely stay. Flora is responsive to texts.
Lovely cottage in very quiet, peaceful location but ideally situated for exploring Skye
Cottage has everything you need. Very comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen and best shower ever! Location nice and quiet even though you're just off the main road. Centrally located should you wish to go North, East, South or West. Thoroughly recommend. Host very helpful suggesting itineraries and places to eat.

Thank you for being lovely, considerate guests and for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy.
The croft is beautiful and the surrounding area is quiet and beautiful, there is a lovely Honesty box close by for treats and fresh eggs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the croft has all the amenities you could possibly want and Portree is a 10-15 minute drive where there is a large co-op. We will definitely be visiting again.
We absolutely loved our 10 days in Flora's amazing cottage. Check in was simple and hassie free. It was very clean on arrival and was really well equipped with everything you could need for cooking meals. All appliances worked well and were very easy to operate. Very comfy beds, fluffy towels and the shower is amazing! We were quite unlucky with the weather and needed to dry out wet coats and boots frequently so the log burner and clothes airer came in very handy. The cottage is situated in a perfect location to explore all of Skye. We were very sad to leave and we're definitely planning on coming back again one day.

Thank you so much for being lovely considerate guests and for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy. It would be great to see you back again.
The cottage looks great, outside and in. It is nicely furnished and decorated, spotlessly clean, and has a good layout. The kitchen is well stocked, every need was provided for, even a great view from the kitchen window. The bed was very comfortable. The living room is cosy and comfortable, with 3 sofas and a wood burning stove. The wi-fi broadband was good too. Flora the owner was very quick to respond to messages and is kind, generous and thoughtful. All in all, I would highly recommend this cottage.

Staying in the land of beauty
Really enjoyed our time in Skye. This place is a little off the beaten track, but in a way that's a plus. Beautiful views out the kitchen window. The lambs next door like to come out and greet you when you go out for walks. It's a comfortable home, and a nice fire at night makes it very cozy. Only knock is the shower, it when from scalding hot to ice cold with nothing in between. However, when we reached out to the owner she was quick to respond and sent a plumber to fix it. The owner as I say was responsive and very kind. I would not hesitate to rent this place again.

old and dirty cottage, despite the kindness of Flora
Despite the kindness and availability of Flora Guidi, I regret to have to express my very negative feelings about this rental. This is the first time we have been disappointed by a rental on homelidays. The cleanliness of the cottage was honestly doubtful, a smell of humidity and dirt, a very old cottage at a maximum price... despite our attachment to the island of Skye, our stay was wasted by this uneasiness in the cottage....

I find it hard to believe that it was my cottage you actually stayed in. I would ask potential guests to scroll by quickly and read the other honest reviews on this page.
The origins of this property are humble, and the outside appearance is too, but inside we found everything we needed and more. Nothing fancy, but clean and with good attention to detail, ranging from the comfy living room to 3 bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Adequate heating from the wood burner or the electric radiators. Some nice art on the wall of local sights. TV with lots of channels albeit a bit blurry. But excellent wifi/internet on top of that.
From the vrbo listing it might be difficult to judge the layout and when arriving you'll find the property is free-standing but slightly built amongst a group of houses/sheds/hedges that limit the views you might expect somehow. However, the side window in the kitchen allows a glimpse of the bay/loch around the back and there's some slopes to be seen when sitting out front on the bench or when looking back from the couch. For us, it was not a problem, since this house is also an excellent place to start your discovery of Skye: it is so well placed along roads leading to any of the known and less-known destinations. Portree is great for shopping and has a lovely port and circular walk along the coast of the loch and woods. Every hotspot is reachable within 30-60 minutes, which seems like a selling point to me!
What mattered most to us was the inside of the house, which was very good, and the contact with the owner, Flora. She was very friendly and quick to answer our few questions. Really enjoyed it! Very recommendable.

House on west side of Isle of Skye
Overall the house was clean, had a microwave which was a plus, and the owner left us a nice care package of bread, oatmeal cakes, pancakes, and a bottle of wine- nice touch.
Would be nice to have had a picnic table outside or some kind of outdoor seating...the week we were there was sunny and pleasant weather, so would have been nice to eat some of our meals outside.
Wished it had a dryer- I realize this is not necessarily standard in a lot of European countries, but when you wash your clothes and can only hang them to dry outside, your clothes dry stiff especially anything denim. We also did not have the turn around time to get clothes washed and dried for our party of 6 using this system. Dryer would have helped immensely.
Finally, was a bit disappointed that we could not see the beauty of Skye from our windows- when you look out the living room, master bedroom, or kitchen window, all you see are these evergreen bushes that were likely planted for privacy, but I was looking forward to seeing Skye out my windows- not shrubs.
The Master bedroom pillows were quite flat and stiff- not to our comfort liking, but not a complete deal breaker either.
Sehr nette Vermieterin, die uns ausführliche Informationen gegeben hat, auch über mögliche Ausflugsziele. Gemütliches Haus, alles da, was man braucht, ruhige Lage.Leider gab es keinen Zugang zum Meer, auch in dem ganzen Dorf nicht, da alle Grundstücke eingezäunt waren und die Strassen/Wege nur zu den Häusern führten. Das war schade.
Fantastische Woche in ruhiger Lage direkt am Meer / Fantastic week in a quiet location right by the
Helen and Ross's cottage is fantastic. Very quiet location, very clean with a great garden and equipped with everything you need. The beach is within walking distance with a very nice coastal path.
Helen and Ross made us feel very welcome and there was a lovely bouquet of flowers and some goodies to welcome us. They provided us with valuable tips for excursions, restaurants and shopping in the area and were always very helpful.
The surrounding area is wonderful with many excursion possibilities and charming little fishing villages.
We felt very comfortable and will gladly return.
Many thanks to Helen and Ross.
A beautiful cottage in a quiet area, spotlessly clean with all you would need for a perfect holiday. 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 double and a single ,lounge area and kitchen. A log fire with a substantial supply of logs. I would highly recommend this cottage as it is ideally placed to visit any part of the island.
The house is quite nice and very clean. Plenty of space.
The property was difficult for us to find it sets back a bit. We ended up at a neighbors and he kindly gave us directions. We were only 2 houses away. I would highly recommend this place.
