About this property

Beautiful, 5-star rated apartment, quiet and 5 minutes from the town centre

Beautiful 2 bedroomed ground floor apartment with one double bedroom with new King size bed and one twin with two bunk beds and a third pull out bed stored underneath (see the pictures), each with fitted wardrobes. Fully equipped kitchen with Wi-Fi, Smart TV, blueray player and docking station in the living area. There is a good selection of English language films, music, books and magazines to suit all ages and tastes . There is a washing machine in the bathroom which has a full size bath with an over bath shower and a separate toilet.
All bed linen, towels etc are provided and the end of stay clean is included in the price.
Large patio with outside seating and table accessed from the living area with an electric BBQ, table and seating for 6 and a couple of sun loungers.
There is outside parking and a secure underground garage with storage for skis and bikes. The town centre with shops,restaurants and bars is 5-10 minutes walk away, with a supermarket 200m from the rear entrance to the apartment block and a take away pizza restaurant 50m away.
The first stop on the blue ski bus route is 100m from the property, so there's always space, even at peak times. The Grand Massif express lift is a 500m picturesque walk away along the river bank but this is best accessed via the free ski bus or by driving to the large free car park at the base of the lift. The whole Grand Massif is accessible from this lift with over 250km of skiing to suit all abilities as well as some of the best off piste skiing in Europe. The nursery slopes in Samoens and Morrillon in particular are ideal for first timers with good intermediate skiing close by. Chamonix, Megeve, Les Gets and Morzine are all no more than an hours drive away.
Samoens is not a typical ski resort. It is an historic French village with a whole host of outdoor activities as soon as the ski season finishes. Forest walks and hiking trails are well signposted and would suit all abilities from casual walkers to extreme hikers and mountaineers. Not to be missed are the numerous picturesque waterfalls around the Cirque du Fer a cheval in Sixt which is a great starting point for casual walks and hiking into the mountains (see some of the pictures).Mountain and road biking (bikes, including electric bikes can be hired locally), canoeing and white water rafting in the Giffre and paragliding are just a few of the other activities available virtually all the year round. There is a cinema in the village which shows a selection of films in French and English and an extensive and well laid out botanical garden extending up the hillside from the village centre. The views from the top are magnificent.
There is an ice rink and an outdoor swimming pool complex with a large lake and beach and an outdoor adventure area with high wires and canopy walks

The apartment was clean, warm, private and welcoming. Facilities for home cooking, plenty of hot water once we got familiarised with it. Very easy walking access to local supermarket, town and ski station. The walk to the ski station is beautiful by the river. Brilliant onsite pizzeria, just right beside the apartment. The location is very quiet and peaceful. The only concern we had was poor lighting on the brief approach to the apartment, with a torch or phone light required until you reach the back entrance. Bridget was very responsive and quick to get back to us. Great host, great apartment. We will definitely return.

Charming place with a personal touch

Bridget's place is a lovely apartment providing all we needed for our one-week long summer break at Samoëns. It is very well stocked with cookware and charms with a cozy lounge area and warm, personal decorations. Hiking paths and the town's center were easily accessible, and at night we enjoyed relaxing on the spacious terrace.

Cosy apartment in a great location.

Recently returned from a 5 night stay at this cosy apartment. The location is very convenient if you are skiing. Blue line bus stops close by. About a 10 min walk to centre of town. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable. I would recommend and would not hesitate to return.

Comfortable and well located apartment

We had a lovely week in this cosy apartment, very nice to have a ground floor apartment for us - elderly couple! The apartment is very well equipped with everything you need and is just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Samoens and two minutes from the ski bus stop. We had no trouble with the eccentric toilet!

Lovely Alpine retreat

The property was in a lovely location, and was as described. I suspect we were the first family in for a while, because we had to do a bit of cleaning of cobwebs etc but it was generally clean and in good condition with nice touches. The bed was very comfortable, one of the best we have slept on in any rental apartment but the sunloungers looked ready to fall to bits at any moment. Overall we were really happy with it and wouldnt hesitate to return.

Lovely apartment in a great location

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment. It is very clean, extremely well-equipped and has the most beautiful view from the terrace. The location is great - it's in a very quiet location and a ten minute walk from the centre of Samoens. There are also plenty of great walks and cycles from the doorstep. Bridget was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. Highly recommended.

A fantastic discovery

What a beautiful little apartment. It is beautifully appointed and comes with loads of little extras that make the stay truly memorable. The living space a large and airy and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare wonderful home cooked meals. The bedrooms are comfortable and all the linen and towels provided are of really good quality. We had a great weekend skiing, the lift is a 5-10 min walk, and the ski area accessed from there is immense. We will definitely return.

Perfect location and well equipped

We have just returned from a week in this apartment and found it to be in the perfect location both for the village and the gondola. Also the wonderful cheese producer is a short walk away! Everything in the apartment is perfect, it is so well equipped with everything and more that you would need, it is warm and cosy and the views are fantastic. It also has a bath which we found very welcome after a day skiing. Bridget was incredibly helpful and answered all questions promptly. I would highly recommend this place and hope to return in the summertime.

Superb mountain apartment

This is an excellent self-catering apartment, perfect for summer or winter activities. Very clean, well-appointed, well-equipped. Lovely to be able to gaze at the mountains from either of the sofas in the open plan kitchen living room - complete with Netflix. King sized very comfortable - this is unusual in a self catering property! The host, Bridget, was very responsive to queries on email or WhatsApp. It’s in a great location - a neighbourhood over the river from the town, very quiet but only 5 minutes walk to the town. The kitchen area is very small but equipped well and we ate in most nights. If we revisited places, we would happily stay here again.

A warm Alpine hug

Excellent communication with owner. Perfect setting, cosy with lovely Alpine decor touches. Very well equipped, everything we needed from a hairdryer to a well stocked dvd collection. Love that linen towels and kitchen towels are included, taking bedding with on holiday takes up so much space! The patio was amazing with sun loungers and bbq (we might try next time as the pizza take away within meters from the apartment was so convenient). Great full size bath and lovely living area. Access to sleighs was a bonus as ski lifts were closed due to Covid. Views are beautiful and it’s nice that it is the end unit - view from kitchen of the woods. We loved our stay here.

Lovely apartment with stunning views

Really impressed with this lovely apartment, situated just on the edge of Samoëns, which is a pretty traditional Haute-Savoie town. The Blue Ski bus stop is just across the road for easy access to the Grand Massif gondola. And it’s a 5/10 minute walk into town. The apartment itself is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We loved all the sweet alpine touches. But for me the best part was the simply stunning view from the sitting room French windows. We did yoga every morning looking out at the beautiful mountains. Communication with our host, Bridget, was excellent. We would definitely love to return. Thank you!

Beautiful, cosy chalet in a lovely spot!

We can’t recommend Bridget’s place enough! The chalet is everything it should be: cosy, charming, homely and comfortable. It was lovely to have two sofas in the living space so that we could all relax in the evenings. We made good use of Netflix too so that was great. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we could need. The location of the chalet is perfect. Just a 10 min walk and you are in the middle of Samoens. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and the location is very peaceful. There is a hut serving pizza just a stone’s throw from the chalet and we can highly recommend. Bridget was a great host and gave us lots of useful info about Samoens/the area. We would absolutely come back again! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely Propery

This property was presented really well. Clean and tidy with everything you could need. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. There would only be one piece of non critical feedback that I would give and this was that there was quite a lot of duplicate items such as lots of mugs and wine glasses. We cooked a lot of our own meals and struggled to store the food we bought because of all of the stuff in the cupboards. Had there been less duplicates then we would have had the space we needed. Although I say this, I am not sure it was intentional, but possibly more to do with other guests leaving things and its likely it gets sorted every few weeks or at the end of the season! Thank you for providing such a lovely place to stay! We would love to come back!

Compact Appt with Beautiful Views

The property is very nice, compact, spotless and convenient with outstanding views from the patio and so cute decor. Our Issues with the safe and water were responded to as quickly as the owners could facilitate. The Appartment provides every amenity required. The bath was a nice bonus and kitchen bathroom cupboards are full of all kinds of items and cleaning products. The above head height cooker /grill was a challenge which I mastered using a chair. I found the mattress quite firm but pillows soft and comfortable and furnishings were very warm and comfortable with throws, sheepskins and cushions . All very nice. We had a great stay at the Appartment and loved beautiful Samoens. The appt area was very nice with some noise from chairs scraping periodically from upstairs neighbours and comings and goings of the pizza shop and a lady on an upper floor shouting at people, kids and dog. owners for leaving dog dirt everywhere..can’t blame her .. shocking.! Only advice is rethink the location of the shampoo and bath dispensers they are elbow height and like to jump off the wall and spill - (worried they will crack the bath I took them down during our stay).

We live in England with our daughters and have travelled extensively throughout the alps both summer and winter. We enjoy "adventure" type holidays and wanted to have a bolt hole which we could easily access all year round. mainly for skiing in winter and mountain biking and more recently paragliding in the summer.

Why they chose this property

Having decided to buy a property in the alps, we spent several months making weekend trips to Italy, Austria and France. We had decided to buy in Morzine when we drove through Samoens on a misty Sunday morning and what we saw completely changed our minds. Samoens is not a typical ski resort, it is a historic French village with a medieval and alpine atmosphere - no high rise or concrete! It has excellent shops, restaurants and bars and everything is within walking distance from everywhere else.
All outdoor activities are catered for, summer and winter, yet there is never a feeling that it is too busy or crowded, even at peak season. Further afield and within 1 hours drive are most of Frances other well known ski resorts.

What makes this property unique

The location is ideal, being only 5 minutes from bars and restaurants, yet is in a quiet, wooded location with fabulous views south over the mountains. There are extensive riverside trails extending from Morillon, through Samoens to Sixt which pass around the apartment making it ideal for walking and mountain biking. The first pick up on the ski bus is at the end of the road, so it's always empty.
All other summer and winter activities are easily accessed on foot and the local supermarket caters for all of our needs and is 200m from the rear entrance to the apartment block. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts of the village with an excellent butcher, several bakeries and a greengrocer in the village
