Beautiful Lakeside House in the heart of the Cotswolds

Waterside Lodge is a luxurious New England style lodge set within the gated Windrush Lake resort which is part of the extensive Cotswold Water Park near Cirencester. It is an idyllic setting for a relaxing get-away-from-it-all break or holiday.

There is plenty to do both at Windrush Lake and in the immediate area. The three private lakes within the resort offer fantastic fishing, canoeing and dinghy sailing and there are also well maintained tennis courts on site which are free to use to lodge users and a well equipped children’s playground. Close by there is also golf, sailing, and water skiing and much more. You are also within easy reach of all the beautiful Cotswold villages with markets, pubs, restaurants, historic high streets and shopping.

Christmas stay

Lovely property situated on the lakes, quite the picturesque stay. Overall we had a great time and Steven was lovely to have arranged a Christmas tree, bottle of wine and Yule log on arrival for us, nice touch. I imagine this would be an amazing house during summer!

Beautiful location and house, plenty to do

Very attractive house and estate, provided the rooms and spaces we needed and facilities for a family to enjoy the house when the weather was not good. Lots to do within the estate which is very well cared for both in terms of the landscapes and facilities e.g. playground, tennis, table tennis etc.

Great for a relaxed weekend away

Lovely quiet gated community around two private lakes. Great for some gentle water sports (although the lakes aren’t very large) and with the Cotswolds and the rest of the Cotswolds Water Park easily accessible. The house is comfortable and the owner helpful and friendly - no issues at any point. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful tranquil location

This lovely house was a gem. Big fluffy towels provide. Very well equipped kitchen. Easy to operate oven and dishwasher. All the rooms were spacious. We were a party of 4 adults and two small children. Toys and games provided and nice touch of milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge. Would highly recommend.

Third year with friends at this fantastic property

Beautifully clean and well presented house in a wonderful setting. My husband and I have met our friends here for the third year in a row. The house has everything we need for a fun weekend away, large accomadating lounge with a stunning view of the lake. A well stocked kitchen and large decking area at the back for alfresco dining, which has a great gas BBQ. Nearby are more lakes for water sports, we went kayaking and paddleboarding at Lake 86, less than a 10 mimute walk away. We would highly recommend staying at this property, its so peaceful and a really great place for the whole family to recharge and have fun.

Christmas in South Cerney

We had a wonderful family Christmas break here at Waterside Lodge. The house is perfectly geared up for families with a great open plan downstairs and lovely view of the lake. The kitchen is very well equipped too and there was an excellent toy box that my daughter loved. The bedrooms are well appointed however the mattresses are extremely hard (commented on by all party members) and would benefit from a mattress topper. The owner was very helpful answering a few questions before we arrived and the check in and out process was seamless. Would definitely consider rebooking if the beds were refreshed. Thank you for a lovely break.

Rachy's Birthday Bash

The property and the location is amazing, really comprehensive directions/info given by Steven, the owner. A beautifully serviced four bedroomed house with a stunning view over Windrush Lake. I celebrated my 60th birthday with husband and three other couples, the bedrooms are comfortable and there is enough room to spread out and relax in the lounge and out on the decking. We booked Paddleboarding and Kayaking on Lake 86 and had a fantastic time, it was easy to book and within walking distance of the house. My friends and I had fun relaxing time with a lot of laughter, my daughter and gradchildren who live nearby were able to visit and spend time on the lake too. This is our second time of staying here and we have already recommended it to our friends. Cant wait to come and stay again. Thank you for everything, our stay plus the weather was totally awsome. ❤️

Beautiful location but home needs updating

Beautiful location but property needed painting, carpets badly worn, washing machine didn't work, beds uncomfortable, kettle lid didn't close and a lot of other minor items that needed to be replaced. There was no BBQ which all of surrounding homes had, and we were unable to use kayak which was on patio. Previous guests had written in guest book similar comments going back to May 2021 but owner had obviously not taken action on comments. The location was beautiful at the lake and lots to do around there but was disappointed in property.

Dawn phoned me shortly after arrival to say she had been travelling for a few weeks and had a lot of washing to do. She could not open the washing machine door which turned out to be be broken beyond repair. I arranged for my cleaner to arrive the next morning who took the washing away, laundered it and delivered it back. The washing machine was replaced a few days later with a new one. The property is constantly monitored for wear and tear but this has been an extremely busy year so occasionally (just like at home) things go wrong. I am sorry Dawn's stay was not what she wanted but this is an unusually negative review.

Fantastic property

This property was perfect for a weekend with friends. Great location , very clean and well-equipped. We particularly loved the outside area. We had breakfast outside both mornings which was fantastic . We would definitely recommend this property.

Just about perfect!

So beautifully clean. The views were amazing. Lots of toys for our children and the house was well equipped with everything we needed. The only improvement I would make would be some new beds!Loved our stay, would definitely come back!

Peaceful lake side view

A great short stay for a university reunion weekend. Stunning lakeside views, spacious and comfortable house. Parking very close by. Nice walks around the lakes and into South Cerney. Good on site facilities with tennis, table tennis, pool tables etc. Highly recommend.

A great location for a family stay

A beautifully decorated, furnished and maintained, spacious house, where everything is in good shape, and works! Our extended family spent a relaxing weekend exploring the nearby water park, and celebrating birthdays, based around this lovely property. Contact with the owner was superb, providing all of the information and advice we needed and even the weather was kind! It was also very nice to come back to the warm house after a walk in the sometimes chilly breeze. We all agreed how pleasant it was, and that we would like to return again in the future. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to spend time exploring this part of the Cotswolds - you would certainly not regret it.

A well presented home in a lovely location.

The lodge is in a great Cotswold park. The facilities are great whether you want to ramble, play tennis, fish or just relax. If the weather is not so good, the owner has a selection of games and entertainment systems to use. There is amlke parking and easy access. The kitchen is well equipped and the place clean. A recommended stay.
