Experience - The Area... Only 10 minutes from the sea and just 3 miles from the Eden Project, this quaint little converted cider press with inverted accommodation and double glazing stands across the river from the original mill, surrounded by peaceful grounds and woodland. Situated in the quintessentially Cornish Luxulyan Valley (no mobile or phone reception) with great natural beauty and recently awarded World Heritage Site status, the riverside garden runs down to the banks of the boulder-strewn River Par which forms part of the boundary. Luxulyan village and St Blazey, 1.5 miles respectively, each have a pub and local shop/P.O., for a wider selection of amenities, the towns of Lostwithiel, Fowey and St Austell are all within a 15 minute drive. The large, south facing beach at Par Sands and the small sandy harbour beach at Polkerris are both about a 10 minute drive away and there are boat trips available departing from Fowey. There are several golf courses within the immediate vicinity and the Saints Way coast-to-coast recreational route passes nearby linking Padstow in the north to the southern port of Fowey. Cycling is also available locally on The Camel Trail and in Cardinham Woods. Stay - The Accommodation... From the narrow country lane an ungated entrance opens onto a narrow shared gravel driveway to the parking area with parking for one car. A short walk (100 yards) via a gravel path leads through the orchard to the secluded front terrace. From here, a covered entrance porch and glazed door with low head clearance leads into the ground floor bedroom with a double bed, a high beamed ceiling and an en-suite shower room W.C. with hand basin. In one corner of the room, a carpeted open tread staircase winds directly up to a galleried open-plan living room on the first floor with painted wood flooring, a hip shaped ceiling and views of the countryside from several small windows. There is a fitted kitchen area with solid oak units incorporating an electric oven and ceramic hob, a small dining table and chairs and a cosy and comfortably furnished lounge area with a settee and armchair. There are garden table and chairs on the front terrace which catches the afternoon sun and trails lead through the woods to both the lawned garden and orchard bordered on one side by the river and its small tumbling waterfalls. This is a lovely restoration in a beautiful valley. The Cider Press is small but perfectly formed, for a couple. Hot tub add sparkle. The extensive land around the Cider Press is peaceful with a bubbling stream flowing through and there are massive bolder scattered across the land. This was our 2nd time there and we plan to return.
An excellent romantic place to stay away, perfect for a mini honeymoon ❤️
We've absolutely love this place, we took our Springer spaniel too. A lovely quaint little place away from the rest of the world. A green heaven paradise, not far from the local beaches and Eden project.
The cottage, although small, is perfect for 2 people and has the advantage of a very large garden. It’s all very well thought out and described exactly as it is. The hot tub is really great and there is nothing to fault at all. Very peaceful and set in a picturesque valley.
The Cider Press is a small, ver well appointed stone Cottage for two in the Luxulyan Valley. Lovely and quiet and surrounded by trees
, with the added luxury of a hot tub - bliss!
Very well kitted out to every detail with quality materials and very comfy beds. The Cider press is located in a beautiful garden with the river Par running through it. Some lovely walks just in front of your doorstep.
Excellent for 2 adults, if you want remote, forest, no neighbours and no noise - this is perfect! The cottage is very well done, it has everything that you need for a weeks self-catering. The bed is very comfortable, with good pillows and cotton sheets (this is important to me), decent shower (you need to use the booster switch for a second person, to ensure same leave of hot water), very well equipped kitchen, over all the cottage is a good size for a couple. The hot tub was excellent, as we were out walking and sightseeing everyday, brilliant to come back and sit in with wine! The owner met us as we arrived, gave us the H&S, then left us to it - perfect. Loved the country lanes and country setting.
Fantastic stay at the cottage an ideal place to relax and unwind. A lovely cottage and a beautiful garden made extra special because of the river Par running through it. A great location feeling remote but actually only 5 minutes away from shops, pubs and restaurants. Relaxing in the hot tube while watching and listening to the wildlife around you was amazing.
