Situated in the outdoors adventure packed area of Twin Bridges/Strawberry CA, this house is 25 minutes from South Lake Tahoe, 8 minutes from Sierra-at-Tahoe ski mountain, and single digit minutes form fishing/hiking/climbing/kayaking, you name it.

Fully rebuilt/remodeled in 2010. 4 bedrooms. 3 with queen beds. The 4th is the open sleeping area in the loft (with 4 twin beds). A fold out sofa full bed in the great room. 3 full baths with beautiful natural stone- 2 have double showers and the master bath has a large claw foot soaking tub. The family room is very spacious for multiple families with a 'touch to start' Gas Fireplace for efficient heating, 85” flat screen 3D TV with Dish Tv, BluRay & DVD Player, XBox 360, Nintendo Wii U, and iPod docking for built-in home surround sound.

The entertaining kitchen has loads of natural stone counter space, stainless appliances, all cooking utensils and dishes are included. The dining table can expand for up to 12 people. The house is tastefully decorated and reclaimed wood floors are through out the house adding a rustic mountain touch. Most of the furniture is new and in excellent condition creating a designer feel through out the house. The decor is tastefully done with a Pottery Barn feel throughout. There are board games, kids art supplies, DVD’s, BluRay movies, some 3D movies, 8 sets of 3D movie glasses, Satellite HD TV, books, kid toys, train table, and a Pack and Play crib.

Outside features include a granite landscaped backyard/patio, with wood burning stove, Gas BBQ, fire pit, and patio seating & lounging for 9. In summer relax in the hammock. Relax your tired body after a day of skiing or hiking in the 6 person log sauna house. And the large wrap-around driveway can easily accommodate 4 cars.

Don't want to leave your car out in the snow or sun? Then take advantage of the large garage with steps leading up into the home.

This house is conveniently located under 10 minutes to Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort. There are loads of activities under 20 min from the cabin such as, walking the Pony Express Trail, Desolation wilderness, climbing at Lover’s Leap, fishing in the south fork of the American river, water activities at Echo, Wrights, Ice House, Union Valley Reservoir and Tahoe and endless hiking. Walk to the Strawberry lodge for ice cream or the market for basic food needs. Another winter perk: If 50 is closed over the pass, you can often still get in to this house- It is ½ mi. below the closure location at Twin Bridges, so you will never have interrupted travels. South Lake Tahoe is a 25 min scenic drive with views of the lake, and mountains along the way.

Got a baby? The house is BABY READY with a crib, rocking chair, two baby gates, changing pad, diaper genie, and a pack and play.

Got a dog? A nice medium sized wire dog crate with pillow is included.

Note: Please be aware that our home DOES NOT have a Hot Tub. I don't know why VRBO's website is showing us as having a Hot Tub. We have a Sauna, but not a hot tub.

Power:
In the event of a power outage guests can use the house generator. It runs the following things: Refrigerator, furnace, half the lights on main floor, and half the plugs on the main floor, garage lights. It does NOT run the Oven, Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher or Washer/Dryer. SO, in the case of an outage you'll still have heat and ways to cook (Use the Hot Plate, Crock Pot, Rice Maker, Water boiling Kettle, and Propane BBQ grill)

Really great cozy house with tons of charm. Comfortable beds, great location, great communication, lots of great in-house amenities like toys and games for the kids. We've been to 3 properties in this area and this house was easily the best so far. Would stay again.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at this cozy cabin! The house was well stocked with extra linens, plenty of games and puzzles, shampoo and conditioner, and everything we needed for the kitchen. We were there during an epic snow fall and our kids had a fantastic time playing in the driveway and backyard with the provided snow sleds. The host, Dominic, was absolutely wonderful! He kept us up to date on the road conditions and was extremely communicative and accommodating. The house is well maintained and in great condition. The circular driveway is really nice so you don't have to reverse in snowy conditions. We had two families (4 adults and 4 kids) stay very comfortably here and it was easy to get to Sierra at Tahoe. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful time Dominic the owner was very responsive for any questions I had. And the amenities were on point. I did not need to bring anything as this wonderful cabin provided everything needed spices hand soap shampoos. It was wonderful we will be returning. If you have small children, you would not have to leave your place. Stay in there as it provided everything from Barbies to games to trains. Absolutely amazing thank you so much Dominic for your hospitality and letting us stay in your beautiful cabin. We arrived two hours early then check in and he was lenient and let us drop our items off beforehand.

This was a wonderfully comfortable, attractive and clean place. The location was perfect - very close to Sierra at Tahoe for skiing. And the sauna was oh so lovely after skiing. Having an accessible garage made it easy to unpack and pack the car during rain and snow. I really appreciated the clear instructions that the host gave and his quick replies to questions.

This was our family, summer vacation in beautiful South Lake Tahoe. The location of the Airbnb was very convenient to local activities such as the Apple Orchard and Heavenly Village. Dominic was so helpful and so quick to assist us with any questions that we had during our stay. The house was conveniently stocked with laundry supplies as well as kitchen items that made eating at home convenient for us also. The part that my family loved the most was all the games that they had on hand and we got enjoy. Overall, I would definitely rate this stay a five star!

Wonderful Cabin

We stayed for two nights so we could hike in the area. The cabin was very clean and well-equipped, and laid out nicely if you had a larger group. The cabin is close to the highway, but inside you cannot hear it at all. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Updated cabin in a quiet location

The property is updated, well-maintained, clean, fully equipped with all necessities for a staycation. We had a great experience during our stay, didn't really need to contact the property manager but he was very communicative leading up to the check in process. They even allowed early check in, gave us recommendations for dog parks close by. The neighborhood is quiet and mostly vacation homes. Only thing to keep in mind for visitors - closest grocery stores, restaurants are atleast 20-30 min drive away, additionally, there are not a lot of restaurant options for Uber and DoorDash delivery. We would definitely rent this place again. Thanks for a great stay.

Fantastic and spacious mountain home

We stayed here for w long weekend with two other families and all loved it! The house is incredibly spacious and well stocked, and the kids loved the toys and stuffies. The host let us know upfront about snow and road conditions and was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay, even flexible with an earlier check-in. We all enjoyed the sauna very much. Spent two days skiing at Sierra which is just around the corner. We'll sure be back!

Amazing Property

The property was absolutely amazing! The house if fully stocked with everything a family needs! Toys and games galore! My sons were in heaven. No need to pack their toys as there were toys and games for kids of all ages. The Xbox and guitar hero were also a fun surprise.The kitchen was also full of all of the necessary items and made cooking easy!The host was responsive and all of the instructions were clear!We can’t wait to stay again next season!

Great house for families and weekend ski trip

The house was great for 2 families to share. the amenities were just as advertised - plus the fantastic sauna in the back. Kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of things to do in the house - games, TV, video games (guitar hero!). the smart TV outsmarted me a bit but I eventually figured it out.We were provided very detailed instructions which made check-in and check-out very smoothit's about 10 mins from Sierra-at-Tahoe and as noted, you don't have to go over the summit to get there.

We've been visiting, hiking, and skiing around the Twin Bridges & South Lake Tahoe area since the 1990's. Originally from Wild Wonderful West Virginia, we settled in California and were drawn to the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe. In 2014 we discovered this beautiful home and decided to make it our own. We love this neighborhood and stay at the home with our three children as often as we can. When we're not here we like to share our house with our guests.

Why they chose this property

Two main things: the house itself, and all that is close to it.

We use this home in Twin Bridges as a base-camp for all our Tahoe area adventures. Hiking, swimming, visiting the nearby lakes, skiing, snowmobiling - everything we like to do is within easy reach. Not right on HW 50, the quite street is great for a walk. We walk to nearby historic Strawberry Lodge for ice cream (currently being refurbished). We try our luck at fishing in the nearby American River. We chat it up with our neighbors & their guests at the nearby general store. We watch the rock climbers tackle the towering cliff of nearby Lover's Leap. We catch a glimpse of the Milky Way above. Most importantly, we make memories here with our friends.

And the house itself ... such a gem. Tastefully decorated with a tremendous capacity to entertain. Completely remodeled in 2010 - all is new and in great working shape. Every aspect of the property exudes quality and craftsmanship.

What makes this property unique

We're outside of the City of South Lake Tahoe, so that means you are not exposed to the Giant Fines they hit vacation rental customers in South Lake Tahoe with. In South Lake Tahoe it's literally $1000 fine if you are in your hot tub at the wrong time, or if you park in the wrong spot. Not here in Strawberry! So avoid the risk of South Lake Tahoe fines and rent with us.
