A lovely property with a cosy atmosphere. Close to all the shops. Long front garden and enclosed safe back garden, which our dog loved. Nice touches by owner in leaving an assortment of supplies that were useful to us.
A cosy and comfortable little house in a central position within easy walking distance of all amenities in Tenterden.Thoughtfully equipped with good attention to detail. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely small property on the main High Street of Tenterden, but well set back from the road so no noise issue. The property is very well equipped with everything you might require. The town has plenty of different places to eat and supermarkets if you prefer to cook. An excellent stay.
Perfect location. Loved your little house. Julia is very accommodating. The kitchen is super well equipped. Slept very well in the comfy bed. Great private parking. Thank you

Cosy house in great location
We enjoyed 8 nights in this terrace house in Tenterden in late May 2025. It is well placed both within easy walking distance of the town’s restaurants, cafes, shops and attractions, and close driving distance to several villages and significant destinations such as Sissinghurst Castle, Dover and the coast. The house has everything for a comfortable “home away from home” holiday and on-site car parking is a bonus. Tenterden is a delightful town with everything you need. The house itself is very quiet and has lovely front garden and lawns to look out on. We strongly recommend this property.
Very well equipped property in the heart of Tenterden, close to shops, restaurants and pubs. Steam train only 5 mins away. Great for adults and small families. Owner is very helpful and responds quickly to questions. Good location for walks, castles and wineries. Would certainly rent it again.
Lovely little cottage with a nice garden at a perfect spot in downtown Tenterden. Very friendly reception at arrival of owner Julia. The kitchen was beautifully updated and very well equipped incl. Nespresso coffee machine. House was spotless clean. Good and a bit firm beds and great bathroom. Good pubs and restaurants all within walking distance, e.g. The Vine, The White Lion, Montalbano, The Woolpack and for great afternoon tea and/or lunch Peggotty’s. In short: stay at Julia’s!

four night stay at tenderton
Clean, well maintained and equiped
Clear directions to property
little touches meant a lot
queries with owner excellent
Only problem was with HomeAway - final payment
Probably will be repeated when I try and revover my damage deposit
The cottage is beautiful, cosy, spotlessly clean, very comfortable. It is in a great location just 5 minutes walk to the bustling high street with lovely restaurants, shops and cafes. The Old Dairy tap room is just over the road and down the hill near the steam railway. The Vine pub opposite is lovely and really friendly and the Indian restaurant, Banjara, opposite was excellent. Julia is a lovely host and was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you.
The minute I walked in, I felt right at home. The location couldn’t be better, (try the Italian restaurant next door!) quiet neighbors and perfect parking spot. The kitchen is recently redone and the bathroom has a great shower/bath. I appreciated the logs provided for the wood burner which made my evenings so cozy. The bed was comfortable with high quality linens. I’d stay here many times over!
Very well and helpfully appointed with welcoming touches. Very clean with games etc available which is helpful. Excellent position close to all requirements, beds were comfy & despite being in the high street it was quiet at night. Stairs are indeed narrow as described in the accommodation description accurately. Large bathroom with good flow shower. 😁

Lovely homely cottage in a beautiful town
The cottage was very well presented and comfortable. Julia went to a lot of effort to make us feel welcome. It was the small details that made a difference, such as tea, sugar and salt in the cupboard, milk in the fridge and hand soap, toilet paper and tissues. We didn't have to worry that we had forgotten anything and the supermarket was very close for all our other needs. Tenterden has some really good shops and restaurants and we also visited Rye, which is a really nice historic town nearby. I would really recommend staying at this house.

Sweet little old house with nicely equipped modern kitchen and bath, and very accommodating host. Could not be more convenient to the shops and restaurants. Do take the property description seriously when it talks about awkward stairs - there are excellent handrails on the steep, narrow, twisting climb to the loo and upper bedroom beyond but it would not be fun for the mobility challenged. For us it just added to the cottage charm.
Cosy & Comfortable, somewhere to relax without worrying. I could have happily moved in permanently! Lovely wood-burning stove for atmosphere in the living room. Long bath to immerse in after a day exploring. Kitchen had everything including a comfy table at which to eat.
Would benefit from a washing machine and a plug for the kitchen sink. Watch out for the gate to the garage - it swings in the wind and hit the car - wedge it open if you can whilst maneuvering.

Thank you for your kind review. The washer/dryer is upstairs, hidden away in the bathroom cupboard! I’m sorry to hear about the gates and I will indeed make sure wedges are available for windy days
All the best

Listing description is accurate. Nicely outfitted with welcome treats, coffee pods, kitchen tools, and private parking. Your legs will be more toned after a few days on account of the stairs. Wisteria in the back garden was in bloom, lovely. Located right on the High Street so a short walk to all shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, etc. Supermarket was very close by for groceries. The house is set well back from the tree-lined road so it's quiet. Occasional noise of neighbours in their unit but nothing disruptive... it's an old house, part of the charm of staying in Tenterden. Enjoyed our stay, as we used it as a home base to explore castles and other historical attractions in the area.
