The place was great and right in the middle of centro. The property was clean and the cave room was a treat. The only inaccuracy is that each room only has one double bed, not two. The host was highly responsive. I would stay here again for sure!

Absolutely loved staying here, it was so close to the tourist area which was great for us to explore but it was also very quiet which was amazing. Hector was an amazing host and fast communicating, did his very best to help us with anything and absolutely will stay again here when I do come back to Madrid!

The apartment wasn’t very clean. The floor of the first room was very dusty and we saw a small roach in the kitchen. The host took far too long to answer to my messages, leaving us without heat for days as it turned out that the power to the unit was off and they had to explain how to turn the circuit breaker back on. This could have been resolved on day 1 if they had responded better and quicker. They didn’t leave enough toilet paper (only 1 1/2 rolls for 4 people for 4 days), there was no coffee, and there were no paper towels, and no hand soap to wash our hands. There were no basic things like salt and oil. You can see in the photos, but there are no doors to any room, only a curtain but no privacy in the room downstairs.

This apartment is small, but it has been thoughtfully subdivided to provide 3 private sleeping spaces. The arrangement of sink/toilet/shower in 3 separate spaces works well for a group. While the museums and palace are a bit of a walk (or ride), the area around the apartment is lively and full of restaurants and shops.

Cozy place in a great location

Cozy place located perfectly central to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, and Puerta del Sol, as well as a couple of Metro stations. There are multiple options of food, including Gluten Free, walking distance from the apartment. Our host, Hector was quick to respond to questions anytime we needed something. Two things to clarify: there are 3 beds not 4, and this is not located in the Puerta del Sol square, as one picture might suggest, it is two blocks around the corner. Not a bad walk, but not what we first expected. The water heater is a little small. Shower quickly to enjoy the hot water. Overall, it was a great experience and we would stay here again.

While the location is great, the property has some issues including the fact that a tile cutter (perhaps business) is located right next door. The tile cutting noise was relentless and loud upon arrival, and when we complained to the host that this noise should have been disclosed in the description, the host first responded as though he didn't know, then later stated that, "nobody else had ever complained about it." We asked the tile cutter if they normally work there and he responded with "yes." Interestingly, after contacting VRBO the tile cutting stopped after the second day. We requested a partial refund from the host, and never received any response. In addition to the noise, the basement cave room is cool but very musty and damp. Clothes and sheets were constantly damp, and the smell isn't great. There is limited natural light, and the rental is rather dark without lights on. No drawers to unpack, limited closet in 1 room with 3 hangers. We were given 2 small rolls of toilet paper for 4 people/5 nights, no soap for any of the sinks or shower.
